My son and I have been building rockler’s traditional Adirondack chairs and we bought these haven’t had time to build these yet people really like the traditional one. I’ve watched your video on these chairs a few time and I feel confident after seeing your video. Thank you for taking the time to make it. God bless
Wow, they look fabulous and comfortable. Thanks for offering the plans and your insight on how to manage the things that weren't included in the instructions....very nice : )
Thank you for showing the guts as well as the glory. Not all build go smoothly, and showing the “stuff ups” as well as the workarounds, is very much appreciated. If ever I were to build Adirondack chairs, this design definitely looks the best out of all that I have seen thus far, and will be my go to design. Thank you 🥰👍
I finally finished the Adirondack chairs. They turned out great 👍! I went pine because they are going to be painted. Thank you for post,it really helped and yes a second set of hands would help.
Just bought these plans, waiting for them to arrive. Glad I found this video, and appreciate you posting feedback which will undoubtedly be helpful. I think I may try some pocket holes on a couple joints, though... Thanks!
You’ll really like these. I use mine all the time. Please let me know how the pocket holes workout because now I’m curious if it’ll give it a stronger hold in areas.
Nice job! The double angle of the seat must make it more comfortable than a typical Adirondack chair. And not as low to the ground. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for your video. I just received these plans from Rockler and after reading over them you answered my question about the degree of cut for the front legs. I thought it was just me lol.
I'm so glad to hear this was helpful. You'll have to let me know how your chairs turn out. You'll be really happy with them, these are the best patio chairs 😊
Hals Wood Shop. new subscriber. Thanks for building your chair. I saw the link to new plans. I have built my chairs, now on number 20, from Woodsmith magazine Issue 96 and they sit higher like your build. Or the set from Lowes Patio free plans. So many like the set you refer sit low at the back end -- a traditional look --- and are harder to get out of when you are done..
They are quite a bit more substantial than they appear in your lead in to the video, good place to sip ice tea from and visit with the neighbors, another well done 👍 project!
Oops! Looks like they moved! I updated the description with these plans here. Classic vs Modern. But the templates look the same. Good luck and happy building!
I know this is an older video. And I subscribe to woodworker Journal aka Rockler. And I’m glad I found it. As Rockler seems to be vague on how to accomplish important parts. Such as the back legs? And I smh b/c I also ordered their Futon bed plans; in which those plans are also vague! It seems like Rockler isn’t concerned about valid complaints from their customers. As they never address these complaints. Nor bother to correct them. But thanks ❤
This is amaizing piece of work!! I'd like to build one of this. Do you know is there digital version available for this plans? I went to Rocklers site and they only have the template. Unfortunately i live in Argentina and shipment is not available this time. Thaks a lot for you sharings.
Hi Sebastian, thanks so much for the comment. That is a such a bummer, I didn't know they would not ship outside the states. I didn't see an online template either. Sorry about that.
I made one for myself. No plans, no nothing. Of the top of my head. No angle cuts just cuts. It's mine, I love it. If you're going to do something like this. Don't buy plans. Just do it.
Perfect timing as I was looking around for some simple Adirondack chair plans to build. I really like these. I went to Rocklers site and read the reviews. YEah, for $17.99, they botched the plan pretty good. The 10 degree angle was confirmed by them for the legs. You did a great job! Rockler is sorely lacking on these though.
unfortunately the Rockler link doesn't work anymore but this one should work....www.rockler.com/modern-adirondack-chair-templates-with-plan Under product description it indicates the front leg angle is 10 degrees but anywhere from 5 to 15 will also work.
You changed the whole plans you posted! Doesn’t make sense…. I make the chair you posted from Rockler doesn’t look anything like the one you are sitting in.
These turned out great!!
Thanks

What a fun thing to do with your son. Thanks for sharing. Please let me know how it goes 😀
Your shop and video production have improved since I subscribed. Here is my demand that the algorithm gives you what you have earned.
Thanks Tony. I’m glad my videos are improving 😊
You did a hellva good job. Bravo. Bad plans makes it harder.
Thanks. Don't get me wrong these plans were great it's just the little things sometimes. 😊
Very nice! Very good job even with plans not yet finished and tested! 👍👍👍
Thanks Enzo. I really do like the plans, the chairs are great. 😀

My pleasure hope you end up building some yourself 😊

My pleasure Isa. Love how you worded that "the guts as well as the glory." 😀

Great job Alan, thanks so much for sharing your build. I think pine is a great choice when painting. Enjoy your new chairs 😊
Thank you for the detailed critique of the plans, and the corrections you made.
Wow those actually do look comfortable! Great job!
Thank you 😊

I love these chairs and the stain color! I too want to build a modern Adirondack. Thank you for all your tips! :)
You are so welcome! Have fun building your chairs. 😊

Great job and thanks for the tips.
You bet 😊
you have wonderful ideas.
Thanks so much Bruno 😀
Look amazing! Was going to try this but the plans are gone. Maybe the company is “editing” them. Thanks so much for sharing !

I have always want to build my own rocking chair, this has given me some good ideas..
That'd be a fun build. You'll have to let me know how it goes. 😀

Thanks for the info on the 10° cut, thats the main reason for me watching this video but, whats the length of the front legs?
23 1/2 inches
Great work... Keep it up!
Thanks Es 😀
I’ve been working on a large cedar table for outdoors. Do you think these would be suitable chairs for dining at the table or do they sit too low?
They sit really low so and You can’t easily slide them so I wouldn’t advise them for a regular table. They are great with a side table though
The blooper made it worth watching,
Just kidding , turned out real nice.
🤣 hey! Just kidding 😀

Thanks so much for the comment Todd and I’m glad to hear the 10 degree angle was correct. So fun you’re building these too. 😀

Вместо шурупов шканты - было бы лучше, хотя и сложнее.
Great tip, thanks for the comment
3:03 Jesus , does that wood has Covid?
PPE! Breathing wood dust is bad for you. Everybody knows but you!
You changed the whole plans you posted! Doesn’t make sense…. I make the chair you posted from Rockler doesn’t look anything like the one you are sitting in.
This chair vs the plans you posted, are extremely different, like watching a different video. Wrong plans for the chair you are showing.
