Hi yes I would like to he able to close a vent as I get very cold if it's windy in winter camps. How did you do that? Wondering whether is tent or the Vango Nevis be warmer.
Nice review Jay. I have this tent which is a perfect all-rounder. Nice features with the venting and storage pockets. A doddle to put up. I tend to keep the end poles upright for separation. Always a balance on weight v comfort. I have an akto and a laser comp but feel cramped in and uncomfortable. Amazing that the cairngorm suits me. Love your swc vlogs. Inspirational! Keep the reports coming Atb👍
Fanx Peter. Appreciate your feedback. Pitch wasn’t exactly a great one. I don’t really use the pockets on any of my tents so ’ forgot’ to mention them. Ta for watching 😃😎
Used this tent for a couple trips now, a week in the English lakes and a week on the Pyrenees. Nice all round tent to be honest, albeit a little weighty for lightweight backpacking but that's a trade-off for the extra comfort and build quality I guess. Review also on my channel if you're interested. My main gripes with the Cairngorm: As you mentioned, condensation on still nights (if it's windy, pitching the tent lengthways so wind can circulate through the tent does help slightly). It's difficult to get the inner and outer separated, which results in a wet inner when combined with the condensation issue. Other than this it's a nice little tent, well made, outer pitch, quick to pitch and a great colour.
I like my Vango 100 solo, £2.00 car boot find. My Lanshan 2 for rather more than money arrived this week ordered on Ali Express, looking forward to the spring and summer now.
@@IWanderUK Yes I have. Thought about the Lanshan 1, weight wise it is hard to beat and you only need one pole. On my walk of SWCP I felt I would like a bit more space, will see how I get on with version 2, might have to revert to version 1 later on as weight is key for long distance. I would like to try tarp camping in the summer to go lighter.
I have this tent. I think they missed a trick by not having midge mesh on the doors, it's either open or totally shut, it world be nice to be able to see out without midges getting in.
I made a velcro'd triangle to cover the vent at the end, which could be adjusted, fully shut to fully open or right off.

Agree totally with your summary ✅ I do like Vango tents though. Weight was the main reason I went for Lanshan 1 on my South West Coast Path walk 😃😎

Love my Lanshan 1 ( AliExpress) my go to tent rest of year/ long distance. Have you seen my videos of it 😃😎

@@100Noddy when I was doing SWCP one of my trekking poles failed, had to bodge it with tape. Lanshan 1= 1 pole no problem 😃😎
@@IWanderUK I haven’t. Do you have a link, please? Thank you
Mayday. Do you mean SWCP

Valid point. Especially if you had option for mesh or solid type window 😃😎
Just checked. You have 😊
