I actually had a very similar mindset to him. I enjoy PVP generally. But I didn't make it a do-all and all. I mostly went around and collected plunder until I reached between $500 and 800. If I reach that amount I was happy. Sometimes I would just die and sometimes I would then go PVP because then the match was over and I was doing it just for funsies.
But, my most frustrating part about plunder storm was literally the first few seconds. So many times people would land at the same spot as me. If you try and take my first kill I will kick your butt in PvP LOL
TH-cam app not letting me change my account profile but like I said on Twitter: I'm FREE! Had to grind it out straight away or else I'd procrastinate until I was scrambling at the end of the event time period and still not get it finished.
I am loving the mode to be honest. I know some people get upset about being killed early but I find it's not a big deal most of the time and there are enough people playing that I'm back in game soon after if that's the case for me. I've only played solo as well. Play the mode how you see fit. I don't get mad if people don't want to pvp and I love going head to head in pvp myself. At the end of the day, it is completely optional, so if you don't like it, don't play it lol.
i think a lot of terribleness could be helped by just allowing quest progress to continue to the next match. I need 1 more chicken? or cant find an item anywhere? then I get ganked by a try-hard and whammo. the entire progress and time of the match is lost. the quest is worth 10x more than I had at level 1-2. its worth 10% of a level all by itself. to be killed before finishing the quest really hurts your progress (the only progress they give us) in renown. theres no achieves, theres no "picking flowers" quests, the kill count only counts players and not dinos. there is no other way to progress than plunder and the quest is a major component to reaching that 500 plunder goal (its 50% of the goal!). also, there really are not good escapes. the barrel and the health can be interrupted. so, for the most part once youve been attacked theres not many options to zoom off like there is in fortnite. even the motorcycle has to drop and then be clicked on to engage. the game has 59 losers. 45-50 of them never had a chance to win when they started. so Blizz needed to make losing fun. and they didnt. they allowed winning to be toxic. being cursed at for running away, being called loser for dying, theres a lot of jumping 12 year olds who then curse you out. also, the matchmaking is terrible. I have 2 kills (both suicide by pvp), 1 win. I am not a whole pacifist but certainly an avoid conflict. I should be - by level 30 - in a match of likeminded pacifist run away-ers. and yet I land, someone lands on top of me and then kills me with fire whirl or pulls me with the chain into a star bomb combo and im level 1 and their level 4 and its been maybe 90 secs. why? why cant the match-making after hundreds of games put me with other ppl who dont want to fight? who have the same low kill counts and interactions? let the sweaty try hard pvpers play each other on their own matchmaking thunderdome. who puts Lord of the Flies/Hobbesian Deathbringers and Hippie flower-pickers into the same lobby? And then wonders why they get complaints? And then to watch the other content creators talk smack about ppl who dont like the mode, or get killed early, or feel bad (looking at Bellular here) just irks me. thank you for a good, fair, show
