Welcome to the BattleTech universe.
What will you be within it? MechWarrior, non-Mech pilot, mechanic, or something else?
The universe is wide open for you to be just about any character you can think of.
One of the recommendations in the book for mission ideas is checking out the various fiction from over the years and looking for something that is barely mentioned and ultimately left unexplored. It's a starting point, at least. Understanding how the various factions operate and what they have to do to remain operational and clear corruption from their ranks might be the start of another story.
