Hey Boss , I was worried when I saw all that water erosion , Wow , that was a serious downpour . I learned a lot from from this video . Erosion seems to always cost the excavation guys a mint by the end of the year . Glad you got heavier material and get her all cleaned up .

Yeah, I want to see the solar farm. I know it’s gotta be hard to decide whether to squeeze in another project or keep the filming/editing active. Without projects, you got nothing to film/edit… abandon your channel for too long, and you will need those extra projects to backfill the revenue drop. Consider hiring a sidekick to make your days lighter (off loading a bit).
Pity you couldn't put together some grizzly bars or something to act as a screener? If you have the space you could always dump the stuff and screen it whenever you have some quiet time.
D-Boss!…thought you banded me or something!…people just handcuffing you up there, buy another risor and pluck the cherry tree out of the way for pete sake!…they ain’t got no jing or you would be clearing behind the house and hogging it for the front yard slope….welp just give them what they payed for and pull out….then they start calling you to come back for more, but want a deal…right? @@HankinsExcavating I bet!…that’s a lot of dirt!…100 trucks with at least 20-25 ton loads…I’m just kidding with you , most can’t imagine the yardage it really is…just think how many yards a hour you can run through your screener and then divide it and multiply….even a really good screener/separator would take a week or more…..that’s a lot of work…lol!
Hi Mike! so many are wondering about the washouts....i am woundering about compaction....you show us how tidy you backfill the structure and make a clean separation of dirt and backfill material...I miss the part of compaction in layers.....sure it is easy to throw in sand....but in which layers?? 10 in 20 in???
Mother nature showed you the results you get with your method....of course it takes more time and labour....but in the end??? If you get paid to clean up that mess...lucky you....

No typically you do not compact against a basement wall you will push it in
Here we use a jumping jack to compact the small section of backfill. therefor we have no problems at all. Only thing is that it takes a lot of time to come up in 10 inch lifts.... @@DIRT-BOSS

Why can’t you compact to much along the foundation? Is it because it’s a basement and there’s a risk of pushing the wall over?

That's typical procedure up where we are .. you stay out of the over dig and know your machines tolerances
@DIRT-BOSS gotcha! I'm up in New England. Backfilling my 1st basement next week. (My own house, modular)
@@Sean-jd9rp good luck use good material for backfill make sure it's dry not wet and heavy you'll be fine don't overload the wall in one spot
@DIRT-BOSS looks pretty straightforward. I'm a contractor anyways. This is my 1st house set and might get into doing more for customers if mine goes well.
Foundation guys are running behind. Foundation will only have 1 week to cure. Temps will be in the 80's and sunny all week. Should be ok??
