Didn't realize this was PCB first ever ATP1000 win. I thought he probably had one or two already bc he is such a good player, but then I remembered he is playing in the BIG3 era. Regardless, congrats to PCB. This was a tremendous win for him.
He's a top 20 top 10 player hell never break into the top 5 eith his playstyle.
Yeah, Djokovic not being able to participate in many of the American tournaments and Nadal having been out of it since Wimbledon certainly shook things up. Maybe it's kinda bad to say, but it feels healthier for tennis to not have these guys around so much, just for the sake of the other players having the space to flourish?

I lost count how many times Pablo hit the ball on the edge of the line. But that point at 6:45 is really something else, with the bonus of Hubie's reaction afterwards.
He deserved to win after that dash to the back and did not expect it end up inside the court.

The pros have really loose strings. That lob would be impossible with the tension recreational players use.

Hubi is amazing! Playing the doubles and then having almost no respite before the singles final!!! All this on plants diet. Hes lovely and I am so proud to have such a great fellow countryman
Was pulling for hurkacz, great first set and was in the driving seat. Good on busta for coming back however, really show how mentally tough he is. You can just see when he’s playing that he’s THINKING. How to win, what to do better. Very smart, such a good player, congrats!

Even with the big 3 slowly out of the way (because of one reason or another) men's tennis is just such a joy. And people ask me why I didn't like old school game (like Connors)...well, watch this and you will understand.
There have been many good matches by other players even with the big 3 around it's not just that those guys play at a different level, it's the anticipation and race of titles that made it more interesting

Better shot choices, consistent serve and aggressive ground strokes promoted Carreno to success; I didn't count how many times Hurkacz throwing racket, he's been losing cool in this one.
He was probably annoyed to no end from all the grunting.

Twice. When he lost serve for the first time in the 2nd set and after that extraordinary point won by Busta. He seemed more irritable than normal.
