I am so glad you posted this as I just saw his video and thought it was lacking. I went to post something, nicely, under his video mentioning the role of fats in diabetes and I cannot find my post. I think I will try one more time. If it's gone again I will know he is purposely misleading people.

He’s overly confident about what he thinks he knows. He seems to have absorbed too much of the low-carb propaganda. I agree that his heart in the right place. I think you’re spot-on here. I hope Dr. D sees this. He’s a good man but needs further education on nutrition, and to work from first principles instead of absorbing low-carb disinformation.

Yes! The major talking points out there are Only about decreasing Processed Foods! They aren’t going to touch on the effects eating animals has on our health in my opinion.
I.e. they are Ignoring the Elephant in the room. Like suggesting making French fries with Beef Tallow. 👀

Agree completely. Walter Kempler reversed T2 by feeding a diet of white rice and sugar over 50 years ago as Dr. McDougall talked about many times. His heart is in the right place though calling out the medical industrial complex for what it is.

Until I encountered Dr. Rogers' vids on the subject of Type 2 diabetes, I thought diabetes was caused by eating a lot of carbs, in general. Now, I understand that Type 2 diabetes is caused by too much dietary fat. This is a revolution in my thinking. Now that i understand that fact, I can diabetes-proof myself and my family. Grateful.

I mainly listen to him because he's very spot-on about the medical system in general and I am glad he is informing the public about the way the medical system really operates so that we can make informed decisions. That's what I mainly listen to him for. He's in the right place as far as not consuming toxic processed junk food but I know he tends to favor a low-carb diet which I don't agree with him on. I think it would be great if you two could do a debate and perhaps you could convince him of why a WFPB diet is the only way to eat.

I have far more knowledge than he does. No comparison. However, he is seen a "safe" to promote on you tube, so he gets thousands of times more views than me. If suggested to interview me, he would probably say to himself, why show the audience someone so much smarter & knowledgable than him, who might steal his audience, or make him look ignorant. That's another one of the reasons I seldom get interviewed. He has nothing to gain from it, except to learn more. And he can learn more by just watching my videos.

@@PeterRogersMDbut in China most of the time there was poverty, so if you say they ate rice then most of the days in a year they had to starve themselves because of lack of food of any sort, that is why is China they ate lot of pork because they got lot of fat that could be used as energy for the body during starvation time and during winters, by the way cultivable land in China is very less.

Dhand mainly rails against processed foods. You're right about high carbs, but they must be whole foods AND the fat content of the diet must be low. You can keep insulin and blood sugar under control by one of two ways: Low fat (< 10% of calories from fat) OR low carbs (< 100 g, maybe even < 50 g carbs per day). The former actually results in the body healing and after a few months you can add more fat. The latter is something you have to continue for life and most people find it very difficult. To me it's a no brainer, go for the low fat and after a few months you can start adding more fat to the diet.
Name calling causes a knee jerk reaction in me, and I react by calling the name caller names. No excuse for it I know.

Maybe the doc is keeping up with the latest research, not some history references.
    1. White rice consumption and risk of type 2 diabetes: meta-analysis and systematic review (BMJ, 2012)
This meta-analysis of prospective cohort studies found that for each serving per day increment of white rice intake, the relative risk of type 2 diabetes was 1.11 (95% CI: 1.08 to 1.14). The study highlighted that higher consumption of white rice is associated with a significantly increased risk of type 2 diabetes, especially in Asian populations.
    2. White rice, brown rice and the risk of type 2 diabetes: a systematic review and meta-analysis (BMJ Open, 2022)
This systematic review and meta-analysis found that white rice consumption was associated with a higher risk of type 2 diabetes. Specifically, at intakes above ~300 g/day, a dose-response was observed, with each 158 g/day serving associated with a 13% higher risk of type 2 diabetes (95% CI: 11% to 15%).
