Pay your engineers, keep them happy and engaged. Otherwise you're fucked
Asian engineers are cheaper and more productive. US engineers are more innovative. Intel can't beat TSMC when it comes to manufacturing.
Separating intel is not going to solve their design innovation problem nor will it solves their fab problem. Separating them will just allow the wolves tear them up piece by piece much easier since both of their business is behind competitors.
