Your statement is one of ignorance. If you're a clarinet player and you don't know that, it means you're probably not a very good clarinet player. Yehuda Judges most of the big clarinet competitions around the world. Spend time learning your industry if you plan on playing clarinet.

Nickel and Silver can have difference sounds due to the weight of the medal which can change the vibration. Since Yehuda is the premier Clarinet teacher at USC and has hundreds of Students in Principal Clarinet positions all over the world, I think he knows what he is talking about. If someone wants to try and have a Career as a Clarinetist, you go to Yehuda.
I don't hear anything special in the sound. Why aren't there more Jazz musicians to try the clarinets??! Today, classical musicians exaggerate the purity of sound. And we Jazz musician? Buffet has become sectarian musically. Like SELMER. Jazz customers are forgotten
