When my unbelieving father was on his deathbed with cancer, the priority was to preach the Gospel of salvation for the forgiveness of his sins. The priority was not the healing of his physical body, which we had prayed for already. Becoming born again is the priority. Thankfully, my dad prayed for forgiveness and became a believer in Christ in the last six days of his life. There are so many people in their own Bethel church who do not get healed of cancer. This happens and we have to face that fact, not hide from it with denial talk. It took all the energy I had to minister the Gospel of Christ to my dad, with the main focus being forgiveness of his sins through Christ, not the healing of his dying body. In the end, he did get healed, by going to be with Christ. And this did not cost any money. May God be praised!

Your story reminds me of my best friend that was my brother. He never accepted Christ until he knew he had only a few days to live. He got up 3 months before he going to retire at 62 and he suddenly had a sharp pain in his side. He went to a Clinic and they sent him to the ER. He had two tumors in his liver. He worked hard and pinched pennies to retire early. I told him the year before it happened that he wasn't promised tomorrow and should invest in The spreading of the Gospel. He said I give to the Police Order. I told him we are supposed to do those things to. He said you are just a good Christian. I told him no I am a terrible sinner and in need of a Savior. He said I am a good person. I told him hell will be full of people that thought they were good. That was the end of that conversation. He had a girlfriend for around 18 years that wanted to marry him but he was scared if things went bad she would take what he had. After he found out he was dying and he was gone within two weeks. He married his girlfriend and took Christ as his Savior. As hard as it was to lose him I thanked God for not taking him in a accident or something before he got Saved. Years before I told him you need to live your life and stop worrying about money and your stuff. I told him he needed to Marry his girlfriend who he lived with. I miss him more than I can say. So I know how comforting it is to know your Dad was saved. We will see them again. God bless you and your memory of your dad.

Amen🙌 Julianne for preaching to dad the most important message which is the Gospel. I just want to share this with you. Matthew 8:1-3" When Jesus came down from the mountainside, large crowd followed him. A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, Lord if "u are willing," you can make me clean. Jesus reached out his hand and touched man "I am willing" he said "Be clean" Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy." As Christians we must give God the choice to heal or not heal someone. Instead demanding healing from God. We should pray asked God are u willing heal or not. Should always give God the sovereign choice when it comes to healing.

Today multitudes of people believe in magic. They want a god that will do what they want him to do. The problem with this is that the God of the bible is authorative.
We need to acknowledge that God's thinking is higher than our thinking. Jesus is the way but Jesus is sinless. We can't follow Jesus, if we are determined to cling to things that God hates.
We mustn't overlook the importance of understanding. Multitudes of people are perishing because of a lack of understanding. Just look at all the false religions. Many people believe things but God isn't saving them.

For some, yes, but what I see is that frequently the "conversion" gives the believer no power to change as a person, because it likely wasn't a real conversion. THAT'S why we see so many falling away. They cooperatively prayed the useless "sinner's prayer," while the equally powerless choir was whining "Just as I am" and they were never told of the need for (and blessing of authentic) repentance - and that accepting Christ comes with a heavy cost, that cost being their full acceptance that He had PURCHASED them - body/soul/spirit - to save them from hell. Sadly, too many people think that there is no real cost to accepting Christ, and since they never accept him as anything but savior (not Lord, not Master), they don't have the power or renewed mind to intelligently debate a godless 20 year old on anything, let alone the relevance of God to them. THIS is a big part of why Christianity is viewed as a powerless delusion in most Western countries.

Uhhhhhhh..... maybe it's because God is not a vending machine that delivers exactly what we want, and every single time? Maybe it's because if we could heal absolutely every single person, we would probably start to get incredibly inflated egos and start pulling the kind of prideful stunt that threw Lucifer out of heaven like a lightning bolt - And I think that experience with Lucifer might just have soured God a bit. And since he loves us, he does not want us to be able to get near being in a position of being anywhere as prideful as Lucifer got. Does every single person with whom you share the gospel receive Christ??? I didn't think so. And when they don't, do you simply quit and stop evangelizing, or do you remain faithful in evangelizing, since God commands you to continue to try to win people your corner of the world for Christ? You're darn right Bill Johnson likely did his best to ignore his/their inability to heal his wife, and move one, while still prompting others to heal people. That's because he has his mind on the [great co]mission. Think about it.

Just wait until somewhere, someday, you meet someone who was healed by prayer. Might blow your mind. Big university in mostly-godless San Francisco of all places even did a double-blind study showing that prayer helped people with heart disease did better than those without prayer. You can read it right here: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3393937/ Then again, maybe it was a trick done in the hospital parlour. Here is the summary "The therapeutic effects of intercessory prayer (IP) to the Judeo-Christian God, one of the oldest forms of therapy, has had little attention in the medical literature. To evaluate the effects of IP in a coronary care unit (CCU) population, a prospective randomized double-blind protocol was followed. Over ten months, 393 patients admitted to the CCU were randomized, after signing informed consent, to an intercessory prayer group (192 patients) or to a control group (201 patients). While hospitalized, the first group received IP by participating Christians praying outside the hospital; the control group did not. At entry, chi-square and stepwise logistic analysis revealed no statistical difference between the groups. After entry, all patients had follow-up for the remainder of the admission. The IP group subsequently had a significantly lower severity score based on the hospital course after entry (P less than .01). Multivariant analysis separated the groups on the basis of the outcome variables (P less than .0001). Every time I see one of your videos Sean, I thank Jesus for bringing me out of that whole carnival show. I couldn’t see it when I lived and worked along side them. Oftentimes, we need to come away and look at things from a different angle to really see the genuine workings of a thing. It’s been more than 10 years now and it’s so clear what this NAR is, a false movement that looks spiritual on the outside, but is rotten to the core. I was thinking of my pastor friend who had a dream. It was called The Greatest Carnival show on Earth. So he thought. As he walked through this carnival of side shows of fortune telling false prophets, imposter evangelists and a lion that was really the devil, he was shown by the Lord just what this carnival really was. As he was led away from the carnival by the Lord, he looked up at the big top sign and he then saw clearly that the sign changed and said; “The Greatest Carnal show on earth.” How true. When we come out and be ye separate, you tend to see things more clearly and for what they really are, who they really represent. Here is the dream…..I DREAMED I WENT TO A CARNIVAL...
I dreamed I went to a carnival billed as The Greatest Carnival Show On Earth. As I pulled into the lot, there were smiling greeters with flashlights who guided me expertly as I parked. I exited my vehicle to the sound of excitement, the glare and flash of multi-colored lights and the screams of thrill seekers on the various rides. The cacophony was almost overwhelming. I followed the crowd of people who were happily murmuring about the things they had come for; blessings, thrills, to be fed, to be entertained. I had just paid the full admission price when someone started to walk towards me. While I could not quite recognize his face, I knew he was a friend. He said, "Why are you wasting your time and money here!" "But," I stammered protesting, "This is the greatest carnival show on earth." He was silent for a moment, then replied, "We'll see." And off we walked together into the charged, frenetic atmosphere that was the carnival. The sights and sounds of the merrymaking were amazing! There was a traveling show and it brought out the crowds. There were singers, actors, dancers and those skilled at rhetoric, yet each seemed hellbent on outdoing the next person. "Is this some sort of contest? Is there a prize?" I asked my friend. He replied, "Yes, it is a contest, but they already have their reward." I didn't grasp his cryptic remark and shrugged it off. We walked down the midway amid the swarming crowd. There was so much competing for my attention that it was difficulty to focus. There was a big top with a curious sign that read TRAP EASE; perhaps it was a typo. The finely dressed ringmaster told jokes, made people laugh, and encouraged people to buy his videos and tapes "for a blessing", but I didn't hear the rest since we kept on walking. I wasn't sure why, but I began to feel uneasy, afraid. Carnies would hawk their particular game and attraction promising fame, wealth, beauty and personal satisfaction if I would only step up and lay my money down. At the nudging of my quiet companion, we stopped at a game of balloon pop. The fast talking carnie assured me that all I had to do was pop the balloons with a dart and I would win fabulous prizes. I paid the fee, took careful aim and threw dart after dart but I kept missing. Was this game rigged? My friend then handed me a curiously bloodstained dart with the word TRUTH inscribed on it and said simply, "use this." I took it, aimed carefully, threw it and popped ballon after balloon. The carnie shrieked and finally excommunicated me from his booth. No prizes awarded. He accused me of cheating. There was a trained lion of Judah in a cage doing tricks for the ringmaster to the squeals and delights of the crowd. "Make him heal," yelled one. "No make him bless me with money," cried another. And the strange thing is the lion seemed to be going along with it. However, as I got closer to the exhibit, I looked into the eyes of the lion...it was not the lion of Judah at all, but instead a killer lion stalking its prey, seeking for someone to devour. He was a fraud, but he looked almost like the real thing. I jumped back and we walked away as the beast growled menacingly at us. There is not space to tell of the baptismal dunking booth, or the house of smoke and mirrors that distorted reality through the haze of religiously theme rose colored glasses. Especially disturbing was the fortune telling prophet who, as his sign promised, would give you a guaranteed, genuine word from God for an activation fee of $40.00. I was ready to kick over his crystal ball, but my companion stopped me. "This is their festival, not mine." He said. We walked away. The carnival was overcharging for the love feasts of corndogs and lemonade and I kept getting the feeling the food and attractions were supposed to be free, but perhaps it was just a feeling. After all business is business. And then a wave of nausea begin to rise in my throat as I took the spectacle in. It was like music without a melody, or a painting without color. There was a growing sense of violation. And suddenly, in the distance like a welcome breeze on a hot, humid day, I heard a quiet sound, almost like a chorus of voices rising in song. I turned and began to walk towards the music, walking away from the beguilment and clang of the carnival. My head began to clear and, as I was walking away, the lettering on the carnival signs began to rearrange to read, THE GREATEST CARNAL SHOW ON EARTH! "How do I get out of this madhouse!? I am ready to hurl. My companion agreed, "I am almost ready to vomit too." He pointed me towards the Tunnel of Love. As I walked towards it, I began to notice others quietly leaving the carnival one or two at a time, sometimes in small groups, walking away from the carnival following the drift of music that led inexorably towards the little boats that rode the gentle waters of The Tunnel of Love. As I stepped into the little boat, my friend spoke from behind, "I'll see you in the other side where we will dine together," and he was gone. And in the Tunnel of Love there was no fear. The clang of the carnival began to fade as the music and singing grew louder. It was, it was worship, but worship as I have never experienced, for it was borne of passion and offered up in spirit and truth! It washed over me, cleansing me, inviting me to join my voice to the swelling chorus of adoration and praise sacrificed to the Most High God. And darkness began to fade as the Tunnel of Love gave way to light!!!!! Selah......this is a friend's dream. But it has perfectly put to words where I am and have been for quite some time....

Bill Johnson is not a Christian, so whatever he says is blasphemous. He means Jesus Christ went from city to city preaching about healing, the apostles were tormented for healing, John the Baptist was in the dessert calling people to healing, all this things were done for healing not repentance? What a blatant heresy, Bill Johnson must just be thankful for the Lord is still patient with him till this moment.

In Matthew 7:15 Jesus states the one group, not two groups, he is warning about, false prophets. Bill's invention of two groups destroys the continuity of the passage. The ones not doing the will of the Father are the same as those that will defend themselves as having done the will of the Father with their miracle works. Only one group is saved i.e. those in a relationship with God, and only one group here is damned, the false prophets who thought their miracle works was proof of their relationship with God.

Really prophets and Apostles preach Christ Jesus crucified and to repent.
    1 Corinthians 2:2
For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
    1 Corinthians 1:23
    But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
    Galatians 6:14
But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world
    Galatians 5:24
And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts
    Acts 2
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
    Galatians 5
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Goodness, dude practically ripped pages out of the Bible that are about God’s will being for us to believe Jesus is the Son of God, as well as the Lord and Savior, in order to be saved and made it about works; the very reason why Jesus never knew those who were pleading with Him in the passage he’s preaching about. The irony of the whole thing is how that passage may end up applying to any of those buying into his perverted teaching if they don’t confess and believe on Jesus but, instead, trust in works.

I think it is important to understand what the word prophesy meant in the time of Jesus. It not only meant giving a prophecy, but also meant teaching the word of God through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit as the NT was still only being taught orally.
Further the sign gifts were a requirement at the time of the Apostles as it showed authority of the message they presented. Today we have the written word of God so these sign gifts are no longer gifted to certain people, instead they are given at the sole discretion of God.

I guess the internet is too hard fo some folks. Bethel Church's Statement of Faith is:
We believe that there is only one true God who is the eternal King, Creator, and Redeemer of all that is. He is perfectly holy, just, loving, and truthful. He has revealed Himself to be eternally self-existent - one being in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative Word of God.

We believe that humankind was created in the image of God to know and enjoy Him, yet we willfully rejected the Lordship and glory of God for which we were intended. Because of this, sickness, death, and judgment entered the world and now creation experiences the effects and consequences of sin.
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is God’s Anointed One, empowered by the Holy Spirit to inaugurate God’s kingdom on earth. He was crucified for our sins, died, was buried, resurrected, and ascended into heaven, and is now alive today in the presence of God the Father and in His people. He is "true God" and "true man."

We believe that we are saved by God’s grace, through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Anyone can be restored to fellowship with God through repenting, believing, and receiving Jesus as their Savior and Lord. The Holy Spirit convicts, regenerates, justifies, sanctifies, and adopts us as we enter the kingdom of God as His sons and daughters.
We believe in the ongoing, sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life and minister super-naturally. The baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 1:4-8 and 2:4, is poured out on believers that they might have God’s power to be His witnesses.

We believe in the victorious, redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides freedom from the power of the enemy - sin, lies, sickness, and torment.

We believe that the Church consists of all who put their faith in Jesus Christ. He gave His Church the ordinances of baptism and communion. The Church exists to carry on the ministry of Jesus Christ and further advance His kingdom by undoing the works of the enemy, preaching and living the good news of God’s love, and discipling the nations - baptizing and teaching them to love and obey God.

We believe in the ever-increasing government of God and in the Blessed Hope, which is the glorious, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to rule and reign with His overcoming bride - the Church.

We believe that heaven and hell are real places. There will be a resurrection of the lost and the saved, the one to everlasting death and the other to everlasting life.
      Looks pretty authentic to me...

I can tell you that Todd Bentley, who was called a man of God by Bill Johnson, laid claim to 30+ raisings from the dead during the Lakeland 'outpouring'.
Because Bill Johnson said that Bentley was the real deal, that was good enough for my former fellowship. Bill was their hero and couldn't possibly be wrong. Same went for many others on that stage when Bentley was commissioned. That mass authentication of him by numerous heroes of the faith saw the transferable anointing travel (via Trevor Baker) to my home city in England.
It then arrived in my church building and the demons behind it were given temporary residence.
The man who loved Bill Johnson the most couldn't read the Bible anymore.
I had already warned but was dismissed. I was preached against (publicly) as the man who was trying to put out the fire of God - quenching the 'spirit'.
He once stood out the front at the start of a gathering and went to read some Scripture. As he did, his head was thrown back - violently repelled - out of his control. After numerous failings he had to close the Bible and forget about what he was going to read. The watching people thought that was of God as they were not concerned - perhaps it was, to them, a sign that God wanted him to preach a different message.
The spirit of Bethel is not the Holy Spirit. Rather than raise from the dead (and I have yet to see this in my own walk) they shipwreck faith. Rather than cast demons out, they usher in their presence. Rather than healing the sick, it is sickness that comes. They tolerate the teachings of Jezebel and so did my former church. I got my young family out and those who remained were decimated by sickness, relationship breakdown, mental illness - and the pastor wasn't expected to survive a mystery illness as he lay dying in hospital.
Yet God had grace for him.
He himself had been a man of mercy and grace and was vital for my early walk. I had seven wonderful years there - until Johnson's influence reached its peak through three or four new members who crept into the building and assumed leadership positions within a year. These people loved Bill, loved Arnott, loved Joyner, loved the likes of Sheets and Heidi Baker and Che Ahn.
A lot of the people I've met who are NARcentric want a shortcut to power. I heard the Gospel preached just once in my last year at the church I speak of. Bill Johnson is a dangerous influence and I'm about to listen to Mike Winger's recent video (assuming it hasn't been taken down).
I suggest that others watch it.

With the growing number of false prophets, does anyone know of a current true prophet? I’m also a continuist but am struggling to believe there are any more prophets since the canon of Scripture is closed. Prophets were needed in the early church. At that point, all they had was the Old Testament and the Gospel being preached. Then the letters to the churches. John wrote Revelation and the Bible was canonized. Am I missing something?

    • @RevealingTruth911

Hey there. I'm also a continuist like yourself and the topic of prophecy is a confusing one. The New Testament describes prophecy as building up, edifying and comforting people. But what's the difference between that and a generally nice person that encourages and comforts someone? Is someone like that a prophet? A word of knowledge is listed separate from prophecy. So like you, I'm still trying to truly understand this topic. What we do know, is that what they do and teach is not prophecy and it's God who chooses who has this gift.

Watching the very "FIRST FEW SECONDS" proves these men have been given up to a reprobate mind. We pray for their repentance otherwise they are truly headed to hell. (What about the false sign of "glory dust through ventilation system?)

These types of churches have hurt so many people. It's called spiritual abuse

    • @user-lt8gv9om3h

No, spiritual abuse, is insisting that your interpretation of the bible is it and only it: That only baptists or pentecostals, or conservative presbyterians (or whatever) are saved. This mindset makes you for easy prey for the spirit of division, which has ravaged the church so badly that unbelievers see EXACTLY this kind of thing name-calling without emphasis of the Gospel - which I haven't seen shared anywhere on the page, but you and the other critics of Bill think you are doing god's work judging him? And unbelievers see this kind of tripe and and say "why would I ever want to join them?" Don't you people see that these people online without a real church that produces ANY fruit whatsoever, get on TH-cam for money. That's right. They defame people doing their best to serve God as they honestly understand his Word, but then these guys get on here and earn money for tearing them down. Fortunately, those people don't end up being crucified, so call it a much milder version of what Judas did to Jesus for money.

Scripture tells us that no man can say Jesus is Lord, but by the [Holy] Spirit. If you watch more than just excerpts of Bill Johnson videos to which accusations are attached, you will see that he fully says, and believes, and teaches that Jesus is Lord. Yet you call him a devil. The implication is that you're calling a person inhabited by the Holy Spirit a devil. What does that say about your understanding of scripture? Might want to repent before you get to the judgment seat (and no, the judgment seat is not a fabrication of Bethel Church. It's where we get an account of how we have lived our lives as believers - as in, people who should have known better than to do what they did. I will pray for you.

Bethelians are healing sick, raising dead, and doing all kind of signs and wonders all the time... Right?

It's so sad because the people who say Lord lord have.I not prophesied in your name. That's not 2 groups of people. That's a same group of people. What they're doing is they're showing the Lord.Their own works saying look at our works.Didn't we do all these works? Don't we deserve to be here because of What we did to get here???? ...... There is a work that needs to be done with salvation... But it isn't the work that gets you saved.... It's the work that proves you are saved and that work is the work of sanctification. It's the work of working out your salvation with fear and trembling ......the changed life. .. That's the work that is talked about when it says faith without works as dead..... So works are definitely necessary but only as an evidence that a salvation has taken place.

Wow, what a shameless fearless (in blasphemous way) guy, what a manipulater and a twister of the Bible.
So according to this guy the Gospel is not the main thing ? According to this guy the Gospel is the minor thing and healing speaking in tongues this that is the main thing ?
    Isaiah 5:20
20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.

The argument that "Because there are false signs and false prophets means there are real ones" is a non sequitir. Just because false signs and false prophets are mentioned, it does not follow that there are real signs and prophets today. Signs were used to authentic authority, i.e. Jesus's authority as God, and the Twelve's (plus Matthias's) authority as Apostles.
None of us are gods and there are no Apostles today, so we no longer need signs. The Gospel is not authenticated with signs. That is a false teaching of Bethel.
Also, Hebrews 1:1-2 tells us that God no longer communicates to us through prophets, so there are no prophets today. Prophecy today consists of proclaiming the Gospel.

This is just more of Bill talking the talk without walking the walk. He claims that the gospel must be accompanied by demonstrations of power, yet he and his ilk don't offer any such demonstrations themselves -- an important point his audience fails to pick up on because they've chosen to listen to a gospel that suits their itching ears.

I want to take two portions of scripture…and twist them. Ironically, this passage warns believers of him. He can’t even see the danger in front of him, but if he did, would he turn or soothe his own conscience and justify himself?

The Lord Lord scripture is about so called Christian teachers that do all these works and teach others that works is what they need to do to get saved rather than the truth of the gospel which is that Jesus took care of all sin for everyone.

I pray that people within this church (if you can even call it a church) begin to see the error as well as audacity to twist the scripture according to the pastors own belief system, which happens to be enabled by other pastors who believe and teach this false doctrine. If I was a new Christian, I could see how someone might fall into this nonsense. I wonder if anyone in that church is actually seeking out other resources to confirm this type of teaching (i.e., commentaries, reaching out to other churches, etc). Thank you Sean for continuing to show us how corrupt Bethel Church's teaching is.
