Sorry, but I didn't like this reporting that much. It is completely focused on emotions of people living there and have nothing else of substance. I don't have a problem with the coverage of the 'opinions' of people, but it felt very emotional and pigeonholed into their own environment. What do I mean by that? - One of them said that 'we don't want to leave Dharavi ever'. Well, what if you can have much better quality of life (less expensive, more opportunities) somewhere else, Wouldn't you want to leave the place... This reporting gives me nothing of value because I already know about the plight of the people there. What I don't know are the details of Dharavi redevelopment plans beyond maybe 2-3 bullet points. Show me that. Show me that there's no authority in place to think about the redevelopment plan yet (if that's the case), if there's an authority/team then show me that they don't have concrete plan by grilling them on the details or by showing the lack of plan details (if that's the case). Ask the people of Dharavi about how much they know about this so called redevelopment plan. That will hit home the fact that govt.'s plans are just in the air. I clicked on the video assuming it would be on why Dharavi redevelopment plan has not been taking off for so many decades. What I got was one sided opinions (not facts) from the residents.

In Hyderabad one church property in the heart of the city was given for development. They were trying to remove the local residents. They then met the CM ysr and a new agreement was made. Every family get a 2 bhk house in the same place and at the time of construction, each family was provided with rent amounts
Dharavi must be devoloped for people. Everyone should be given proper housing. Remember whoever is investing in that project they need to make profit out of it. Otherwise Maharastra goverment could put taxpayers money to redevolop this area. It is a large area. Even Rajib Gandhi gave money to redevolop Dharavi but that money was looted in past. Mumbai fertility is 1.4 and Maharshtra is 1.6. this migrants increased the population becuz of slums. On what basis they should get free or reduced price houses. Now Maharshtrian send most remittance to India 35%. Cuz locals dont get job in Mumbai as they dotn work in less salary. I also left Mumbai and went to usa. Cuz their i can get good work culture and salary. Slum population dont even pay much tax nor maintenance. 73 lac bhaiyyas in Mumbai only 17 lac have voting rights over 50 lac living in slums. 42 lac muslims in Mumbai and only 20 lac have voting rights. So 5% living in slums. To vote jn Mumbai u need legal house or living on rent in legal houses for 10 yrs

And in slums it's 2-6k lol. Even there they live 5-8 PPL. Becuz of slums local mumbaikars don't get jobs. Mumbai fertility is 1.4 and Maharshtra is 1.6. this migrants increased the population becuz of slums. On what basis they should get free or reduced price houses. Tax payers and voters should get reduced price houses in Mumbai. 73 lac up/bihari in Mumbai only 17 lac have voting rights. 42 lac muslims in Mumbai only 20 lac have voting rights. 18 lacs baniyas in Mumbai only 15 lac have voting rights. 44 lac Marathi in Mumbai only 38 lac have voting rights.
