I remember being at this race! What an awesome day! We recorded the BBC footage as remembrance of that day. Then my cousin borrowed the tape, and his mum recorded Eastenders over it. -.-
Can this become a Defacto space for where we share what we've lost to Eastenders? Mine was my first BTCC race, Donington in March 1997. I was 6, but I remember queueing to get in and deciding I wanted to be a Renault fan. My dad laughed at me, and picked Volvo. Mum recorded it for us to watch when we got home. When I went back to watch it again, my aunt had borrowed a tape to tape over it with Eastenders. Heartbreaking.
@@allthekingshorses7178It depends on the driver and how they choose to race- Sutton and Turkington drive left-hand-drive, at least Sutton did last year.
Pretty much the Group N type cars of the early 90's. Just the road version of the car with a roll cage and somewhat a tweaked engine yes. It was meant to be a more affordable way to go touring car racing when Super Touring was dying off.

That's probably the most British thing that could have happened to that tape lmao
Tarquini always has a smile on his face even after being punted off the track, such a cool guy

I remember watching this when they’ve put the motorsport and sports on the grandstand
So few super tourers that year :(
Why was the Vauxhall Vectra left hand drive in 1996 and 1997, right hand drive in.1998 and 1999, then left hand drive again in 2000

It's amazing to see Tom Kristensen referred to as a 'newbie'!
Tarquini is a legend
I wish there was a recording that focused entirely on the B-class. I'd watch a TV show about that.
Why were these class B cars so painfully slow? Smaller engines?

Aww, this was the first race I went to. Stood on the outside corner of the hairpin!
❤❤❤❤❤
His accord blew up lol
You need a heavy flywheel at Knockhill.....that will launch the car out of the hairpin
Politics, bla, bla, bla.
