You must be out of your M F mind!!!!! Why would you support any white people in Africa. Cape independent? That should not be talked about. If that were to ever happen, my country America would immediately set up a military base. Probably install nuclear weapons. The Cape would eventually control all of SA. Be careful what you say. I am an x US military veteran. You better listen to me.
Pen, if you ever have a chat with Rutendo again then you need a fact checker there. He throws out some absolute nonsense statements but demands facts from anyone else?
I can only debate like this with Rutendo because he's a brother & we both respect each other. I don't challenge like this with other guests because our relationship isn't at that level yet. ✌🏽
Understood Black Pen however, it will be interesting to have an episode where you debate a guest. It should be a robust debate. Let the guest know that there will be a debate that will be interesting
I am for Africans, and I love how Rutendo just ignores the fact that we did not go to Zim in large numbers. We got our independence last and had no time to heal regroup and start building the South African dream for our black people. South Africans are generous at heart and currently we live with a lot of Zims that have a share on the small pie or crumbs falling from the main table, even eating from the effort that our parents died for while working the apartheid system. South Africans stayed home in large numbers to defend and defeat the system. We are currently helping Zims and our Kids are sharing crowded classes with their kinds and I think its time now for them to go rebuild their country and make it work. While on our side… heal, regroup, and try again to resolve our economic issues factoring the delay that we had. We really need to fix our country and be proud for the future left behind.
YOU ARE MY HERO RUTENDO. YOU ARE FIGHTING A WAR WHICH NO OTHER EVER DREAMT OF. You are well EDUCATED much better that the majority of schooled african professors in this african land. You are a Prophet my dear Brother. Y are well sent. ORDAINED!!!!!! THANK YOU once again MY DEAREST BROTHER
It was a blessing when Rutendo became woke. He spoke about the days when he did not know better. Unfortunately, the South Africans have become selfcentered, , selfish, historically ignorant, and they will fall victim to anothet form of apartheid, more subtle and pernicious than the first. They better wake up.
Rutendo will speak recent facts about South African affairs until he needs to speak about Zimbabwe, he will start talking about history! Great conversation by the way💯
@@zintlesolani8832 as Average South Africans its not true that we don’t care… we do care and now every town is full of foreigners which is irritating cause alot of average SAns are not really benefiting as Pen said
@@ulwandon I would like to hear his solution that is not related to historical events to illegal foreigners in SA. A simple answer from a ‘knowledgable’ person like him.
I love these 2 guys. As an African American, here in the US, this conversation needs to be had in order to create real wealth in the African American community. Penuel, it's your show, but listen to Rutendo because he knows a lot.
C’mon, a nice presentation does not equate to truth. One has to look deeper into what he says. I’m Zimbabwean who has naturalised in the best country in the world 🇳🇦
Penuel next time ask this guy why a country like Russia which is sanctioned more than Zimbabwe since 2014 and at war is able to grow it's economy and able to donate free grains to multiple African countries including Zimbabwe.
Penuel... Thank you ever so much for raising the bar and concientising the African especially South African brothers and sisters a sense of Patriotism and objective analysis of their narrative. Thank you brother
Once again your mental perambulations are like the proverbial donkey following the carrot. You seem to be conflicted between your ancestral culture and the conveniences and prosperity models of Westernized culture. You, by your simple minded reasoning must vote for one or the other. Your categorization is so generalized and common that it affords no unique appropriation of a greater truth
I, an ordinary South African who tuned in to hear the Zimbabwean story and I feel disappointed because his forceful “you owe us” approach was just poor and disappointing. The facts he brought forward were subjective.
I don’t know, I’m worked up by this conversation… you don’t need to have a reasonable understanding or criteria of anything when you want to express your opinion about what must happen in your home (country in this context). We are grateful for Zimbabwe’s help, and in kind I think our ANC government has played their part to express that gratitude to Zimbabwe and other African states that assisted, but that in no way obliges us to continue to take on or accept a situation where illegal foreign nationals must be accommodated when we as South Africans aren’t ok (take care of home first). I’m sure in his home when he’s child has what to him is a reasonable complaint he will prioritise it over the kids that are visiting… I don’t know but honestly I feel when you have an agenda to peddle you have a very narrow outlook and fail to take on the argument on the other side… worth while conversation I guess esp the cape independence part (which is what I wanted to watch this for) but honestly Rutendo I feel walked in with an agenda and if it was ruffle up feather then he dot it from me…
Rutendo for the African Union leader. He is passionate about a good future for the African continent. He expresses himself extremely well on the problems that Africa confronts dealing with the forces outside the Continent.
Its Zapu army that protected Mkonto Wesizwe soildiers and fought for them with Chris Hani Ike Khumalo made that point clear and its in the record of history, Zanu was less interested and viewed them as a threat
Gayton is a doer. He may not be an eloquent speaker but he gets things done. This guy can sit around and talk all day because those who admire him are content with being paid lip service and don't have the fortitude to demand tangible results. Hence, his country looks the way it does, despite his socalled "knowledge" and his people are scattered all over the world, begging others for rights and opportunities they can't get at home. Maybe, one day, those who admire him will mature enough to demand more from him than a "history lesson".
Treachery keeps the wits smart! One vision has many interpretations! A new broom sweeps clean but an old broom knows the corners.!Good manners and friends go places where money isn't ever able!
Rutendo’s conversations are always thought provoking and mentally stimulating. I learn a lot. BUT, Rutendo has a problem of ‘Im always right’. Hes never willing to also learn from others. Hes never willing to accept that sometimes someones knowledge is mire valid or rather makes more sense than his. Conversations with him end up being frustrating because he will never accept another point of view. Its only his and thats it.
Some people are discrediting Rutendo. I personally love listening to the homey but I would like to hear the perspective of another Zimbabwean activist/ analyst who might not exactly agree with Rutendo all the way. Brother Pen, where do we petition to get say a "Hopewell Chin'ono" ? We need to hear more.
Zim fought a war for S.A😂😂😂😂 nogal😅 but they are not willing to fight for their own country. You know.... They still want south Africa. Apartheid South Africa had nuclear weapons at the time. They would have obliterated Mugabe and his Zimbabwe.
Stop laughing. Look up the history of the FrontLine States. It’s historical facts. To say “fought a war” obviously is a hyperbole. But certainly there was military sacrifices by these frontline states to free the last outpost of colonialism.
@@MenelikAlkebulanThe war was of their interest, because Zim was against ANC & MK. Proof : th-cam.com/video/NGKhN2BL1-U/w-d-xo.htmlsi=pg8fgRTRL6K7xeAQ

Why does Rutendo want to claim monotony on the 'desire to see Zimbabwe prosper'? Why does Rutendo ignore the FACT that Zanu PF has called on the UN to sanction Ian Smith's Rhodesia? Why would this now be an issue when the opposition does the same? Penual why don't you accommodate alternative narratives on Zimbabwe? In fact why don't you visit ordinary Zimbabweans in Zimbabwe [you don't require a visa - at best you may need a clearance to go in a a journalist] to see how people are living? Saviour Kasukuwere is in SA and he could shed plenty of light with regards to where things have gone wrong in Zimbabwe. FYI great podcast and kudos to you Penuel for putting pertinent issues concerning the progress of Africa on the table. Despite what others may think of Rutendo [even a broken clock tends to be 100% correct at least twice a day] he is a Zimbabwean and deserves his flowers for standing against the illegal sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe. Sadly we live in a society that is polarised to such a toxic extent that we become blind and deaf towards accommodating alternative views.
A man who supports Zanu and ANC🚩🚩a man who thinks there's anything better than can come from ANC I mean ANC after these 30 years of mediocrity!! He keeps throwing jabs at Julius and Gayton, 2 young leaders who can possibly govern this country much better than these old dunderheads. Using sanctions to defend Zanu criminals. You ask him about the current influx of Zimbabwean illegal immigrants he ducks and run back to "teach" you about expired history! This guy says crime has decreased since the influx of foreigners in this country like WATAFAK bro! When you say that's his opinion he ARROGANTLY suggest it is fact facts my black S!!
If zimbabwe fought a war for SA then name an example of battle between Zimbabwe and SA e.g i can name the Battle of Isandlwana between Zulu and british
The Wankie campaigns, I can name. The deployment of soldiers into Mozambique to fight the South African supported MRN rebels. That’s the second. “war” was probably too strong a word that Rutendo used. But definitely there were military sacrifices by these front line states.
lol Rutendo is just messing with you on the ANC thing on purpose, he has calculated the possibility of ANC going back to power in the coming elections and therefore speaks in favor of ANC in order to benefit personally and for his organization (& his fellow Zimbabweans at large) from an already relaxed immigration policy. He looks for small wins and shines the light on them and intentionally overlook the obvious just so he can talk on their behalf (actually endorse them) without saying so.
None of the corrupted ANC cadres has been brought to book.. Rutendo most of us, ex ANC members, NEED a change.. Our own is failing us.. Yes l,m cautious of white privilege BUT the current state of affairs cannot prevail.. NO JOBS, CRIME, FAILING PARASTATALS etc..
It was a heavy one hey! Looking forward for the next as u promise. Well, If I assisted you sometime ago, I should not force you to assist me if you dnt want to. And so is RSA vs Zim,but the conclusion paragraph starts giving a better perspective
I think Matinyarare is naïve when it comes to S.A political parties... But I respect the work he is doing to try help Zim.. and agree 100% on the fact that South Africans must stop complaining and start doing something for themselves.
I do agree with prosperous cities/provinces helping to build up the poorer areas/cities/provinces so that ppl from those areas dont need to leave their families to seek a better life because they will have those jobs in their own area. This will come with a more dignified way of life and not end up living in a shack on a sand dune fighting for scraps.
@godpenuel.. I have a question.. The white monopoly that u guys always criticise have built an economical system that is visible in most of African countries in which they cripple the economy of those countries and make South Africa rich.. Instead of debating about illegal foreigners will u acknowledge that the rest of sadc are economical slaves of South Africa if you have to look at the amount of money leaving their countries to south Africa.. Every country in sadc hv shoprite, pick no pay and so on
Rutendo is very arrogant and want us to accept his wayward attitude allowing them here because of what happened in past. Illegal foreigners are committing crimes here. He can’t waywardly force us to allow nonsense.
Rutendo is 'selling' the reason why foreigners are here. I dont know to who. We don't want to hear that. We have real issues on the ground. Come to ekasi and see. Drug issues and crime....Guys!!!
But I'd argue that much of the majority also don't know much about politics because those in charge have ruined this nation, and who keeps them in power? The sensible few are for some reason not getting enough support as those who are clearly just big mouth communists who live in luxury while the people they claim to fight for only continue to experience worsening situations, are the ones getting all the votes. So people seem to be attracted to assholes and liers because they themselves don't actually know how to distinguish wise and educated, from fools, because that in itself requires good education and our education system is in the top 5 for the worst in the world. A quote, those who follow the wise become wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.
If you enjoy listening to the truth you would be mindful of Rutendos propaganda. He will give the regime up in Zimbabwe a blank cheque and mix issues with half truths.
Zim did not go to war for SA. That is a false narrative. You realize that Penuel has no facts in front of him to challenge your narrative. Yes, Zimbabwe did support the African National Congress (ANC) in its fight against the apartheid government of South Africa. Zimbabwe provided military training, weapons, and other forms of assistance to ANC guerrilla fighters during the apartheid era. Zimbabwe's involvement included hosting ANC guerrilla camps, providing military training facilities, and offering support to ANC operatives. While Zimbabwe did not directly engage in armed conflict against the apartheid government of South Africa, its support was instrumental in the ANC's struggle against apartheid. Zimbabwe is not the only country that helped black South Africans. The entire world did. In fact the SADC region plus AU were largely ignored when they tried to raise the voice until the global community put pressure on the apartheid government, dropped sanctions on them and then apartheid government yielded. We owe Zimabwe nothing. Our companies are invested in Zim and make that corrupt government millions if they really believe we owe them something.
Baba Rutendo, may you kindly put together a documentary or movie that will teach us inhabitants of Southern Africa our history of how we got invaded. Maybe make it a movie so that even even kids may watch it and learn from it the same way we learnt from Shaka Zulu movie about Zulus, thank you Bro Penuel for hosting, thank you Bro Matinyarare for sharing... The education from here is so rich and eye opening
SAn ba makatsa, you're better off than someone, yet you want to learn from them & be like them🙆🏾♂️🙆🏾♂️🙆🏾♂️ if Zimbabweans have all the answers, why can't they defeated their BLACK government & rebuild their country?
Since he does not even permit Penuel to complete his responses, this guy contradicts himself in the majority of his arguments, or should I say in his speech? His arguments, however, are of a propaganda nature which leaves me with less to no words to contribute.
South Africans are the last to get "freedom" in Africa and hence we're the last to learn the hard way that we were lied to that school education is key and jobs are a pathway to financial freedom. Now we're seeing the light and acting on this.
Pan Africanists like Rutendo make the mistake of assuming we should all think the same because we look the same. Shared experiences and culture matter more to the common folk
Exactly. We are not all driven by Pan africanist agendas they try to push. These countries have had 60, 40, 20 to find their feet, as soon as a black South African goes through the same process to self-determine, now these people are here trying to eat from the same small table, that is why SAns have an issue. Allow us to eat in our own country.
White solidarity is a powerful force because they focus on their own exclusive similarities rather than differences. Africans, especially the SADC region, have many shared similarities than differences. Are you a boer? African solidarity scares you?
Loved the conversation as usual. Regarding Rutando and Zanupf, he became dishonesty and . He can't even go back to Zim. He is strong on criticising the SA government and other sitting ministers back he is failing to do the same for Zimbabwe. Based on his double standards, he is a coward. He is enjoying the freedom in SA he can't even do so in Zimbabwe. What a hypocrite.
Yes he is a big hypocrite why is he avoiding the corruption issue there is evidence of gold being caught at the airport. And i think he is singing the sunction issue so that he can gain a fever from Zanu pf,he is behaving more like Jonathan Moyo.

@@eltielt1609 nothing reasonable, so zanuPF will rule Zimbabwe forever? While Zimbabweans are perpetual refugees who curse their neighbours who are sick of hosting them? Hai man THINK broer.
Lies. The South Africans who stayed in camp were MK and APLA, other South Africans were out and about working as lecturers (Bra Keotopatse Kgotsisiele, Eskia Mphahlele), nurses, working for NGOs. Julius Nyerere of Tanzania gave the ANC land, and they built the Solomon Mahlangu college in Morogoro, Tanzania. The ANC built a primary and secondary schools, set up a farm and hospital. The IMF and World Bank (which are tools of the West), began to refuse to extend loans to the Tanzania and Zambian govts; thru deliberately tanked the economies of these 2 African countries because of their support for the anti-apartheid movement. Tanzania aside, the NIGERIANS did a lot to fight Apartheid, they lost BILLIONS of DOLLARS because they refused to trade oil with countries that were trading with Apartheid South Africa, a little school girl was so hurt by what was happening in South Africa she started saving her lunch money to see if she could send the money to South Africa to help Black people, other students joined in, when the govt heard, the President set up the Mandela Fund (every government worker was deducted 2% from their salary to put towards the fund), President Obasanjo and his ministers also donated thousands of dollars to the fund. South Africans exiles in Nigeria were allowed to attend university in Nigeria for FREE. Tom Mboya of Kenya was instrumental in helping uMam Miriam Makeba obtain diplomatic documents so that she could travel, the first country she travelled to after obtaining those papers was Kenya, after performing in Kenya she travelled to Tanzania to celebrate their independence. South African exiles were travelling the world on different African PASSPORTS. President Zuma held a Somali passport! Issuing someone with a passport is no joke, because if they go and cause a problem in another country whilst travelling on your passport it can cause a diplomatic incident. Mozambicans, Angolans, Namibians, Zimbabweans fought against the Pretoria regime, and refused them to advance their agenda in the region and domestically. The Pretoria regime retaliated by blowing up clinics, roads, railways in SADC region, by the time Apartheid fell, the different countries in the SADC region had a debt of 13 BILLION pounds, and South Africa had a debt of 11 BILLION pounds from this WAR. The ANC was made to pay back 25 BILLION POUND DEBT accrued by the Apartheid regime.
Penuel could you please invite Julius Malema together with Rutendo so that we can have clarity on South African politics and Zimbabwean politics please 🙏
Rutendo is a very dangerous tool😂. The guy will come at you with a lot of smart facts and ideas just to decorate a very twisted essence of an argument. You will get boggled down on the smart decorations and never notice that he has misled all of you. great wit
Millions of blck people in South Africa never run away to other countries, they fought inside. The ANC is not all the people of South Africa. If it's military wing was helped that's okay, but it's not all the people of South Africa. The poor people of South Africa and its children have got a right to protest any other invading nations whether black or white. There's immigration policies everywhere in the world.!!!

Penuel we love you. Understand your guests are there to speak, teach and defend their opinions and ideas on a free, fair but intellectual platform ( meaning their ideas may be challenged). However we ask you to not be emotional and distractive if what they is based on facts because we are learning about things we didn't know about as well. Unfortunately facts are just facts and we cannot change them because they are unsettling to us. With that being said this is not the MacG GOSSIP show where emotional biases dictate the facts. You are our intellectual on that seat, challenge the concepts and ideas but not in a childlike manner. If it's a fact, whether you care or not, is for you to debate at your friendly spaces. Not on our learning podcast. Despite that this was great debate.
exactly.. im also questioning WHY South African platforms are hiding these facts from us. other Africans did fight and die with us. WHY does it feel like that is being hidden from us ???
the best debate I have seen this year on any podcast, Penuel excellent job of voicing how the popular narrative that most black South Africans argue about the Zimbabwean issue, and an excellent job from Rutendo in staying firm on historical facts.
Penuel please get yourself informed about Zim politics like your friend Rutendo is informed about South Africa's politics. This will improve your conversations with Rutendo.
You're wrong, Rutendo is not informed of South Africa, if he is, he would have known that the DA AND ANC are the same,as far as policies are concerned , that is Y even the D.A is not chaneling their energy on the ANC, but they do with the EFF, WHY ITS BECAUSE THEY KNOW( D.A) THAT THE EFF WILL CHANGE THE ENTIRE POLICIES OF THE ANC THAT FAVOUR ( WHITE D.A) AND CREATE POLICIES THAT WOULD BENEFIT BLACKS TOTALY
I don't watch this show unless Rutendo is talking. I support him going out and being selfish and making money, he has planted the seed even to me who is into geopolitics. Zimbabwe story definitely needs to be told truthfully not in the mainstream media stance. His knowledge is impeccable. I wish we can have people from other African countries to tell African stories Penuel I fully agree with everything you say about the ANC, we love the ANC but they are not working for us. Cyril has crippled the country
Rutendo clearly wants to divert the attention of Zimbabweans in SA and place the blame and attention on the White West Danger. Rutendo talks at times of accountability but when it suits him he places blame on others and makes excuses for the ANC , would really not surprise me if Rutendo has government contracts ,hell I would put my house on it .The guy drops names in the ANC that he rubs shoulders with and everyone in SA knows what that means!
@Penuel I believe you should go all out debating this guy; I understand you decide to maintain peace and permit him to push his propaganda but he's misleading the majority through your platform.
Gayton was on this platform, where he explicitly stated that he does not agree with Rob Hersorv on the independent cape. I'm disappointed with Rutendo for being ignorant on this point, also he is not sharing that all sadec countries have a foreign policy and uses boarders to protect themselves. A lot of food for thought here however what rutendo needs to understand is that on any level the average South African owes nothing to a Zimbabwean and visa versa. South africa seems to be the only country in Africa where it's citizens complaints are constantly waterd down. There are multiple Geopolitical reasons as to why even on the lowest levels black people globally should be working together or against each other, let's not conflate the issue by adding emotional sentiments.
It’s just a conversation sharing ideas. If all ideas were dismissed in the way you are then the world will be a worse off. Elon Musk a South African is there in American making America successful. Imagine if Americans had said go back to South African and launch your rockets from there
@africantravellor8126 he is half South African and half Canadian. But what exactly is this Zimbabwean going to launch in South Africa, which will make a difference to South Africans lives other than wanting to hear the sound of his voice. You surely can't compare Elon with this Chatalan from across Limpopo.
I'm a Zimbabwean Peniel but I can tell you that Rutendo is a psychological dunderhead, someone does not need to be sophistical and educated to be heard and validated. You did a good job to expose that in this interview.
My problem with Ru is that like every other African they think they can come to SA and out debate out smart out economy etc us here in SA when their countries are non negotiable, strictly for only them. It is disingenuous from this brother of ours.
The subject of illegal immigrants is getting too intellectualized for no reason. Illegal means not in accordance with the the law and therefore not acceptable. Whats there to have a heated argument about such?

So Rutendo is saying that I can, as a South African, go to Zimbabwe right now purchase land and start mining?
I, an ordinary South African who tuned in to hear the Zimbabwean story and I feel disappointed because his forceful “you owe us” approach was just poor and disappointing. The facts he brought forward were subjective.
I don’t know, I’m worked up by this conversation…
you don’t need to have a reasonable understanding or criteria of anything when you want to express your opinion about what must happen in your home (country in this context).
I’m sure in his home when he’s child has what to him is a reasonable complaint he will prioritise it over the kids that are visiting…
I don’t know but honestly I feel when you have an agenda to peddle you have a very narrow outlook and fail to take on the argument on the other side… worth while conversation I guess esp the cape independence part (which is what I wanted to watch this for) but honestly Rutendo I feel walked in with an agenda and if it was ruffle up feather then he dot it from me…
Rutendo for the African Union leader. He is passionate about a good future for the African continent. He expresses himself extremely well on the problems that Africa confronts dealing with the forces outside the Continent.
We agree with Rutendo on a lot of fronts.am a pan Africanist
Its Zapu army that protected Mkonto Wesizwe soildiers and fought for them with Chris Hani Ike Khumalo made that point clear and its in the record of history, Zanu was less interested and viewed them as a threat

Woow ,what a show ,next time please bring gayton and rutendo , but i don't think gayton will come
Gayton is a doer.

Rutendo’s conversations are always thought provoking and mentally stimulating. I learn a lot. BUT, Rutendo has a problem of ‘Im always right’. Hes never willing to also learn from others.

Well he isn't incapable of learning. He still has far more sense than most people who vote for the worst parties.

Absolute nonsense! ZAPU and ANC fought in the same trenches against RF and RSA forces.
Alright then what role, if any did the Namibians play in the fight against Apartheid South Africa?

@rankz.6474 that's your own xenophobic opinion I won't engage at it, that's how you chose to see and understand it unfortunately so that's your view not mine.
Am proud to be from Southern, where these two great minds originate..Thank you once again..
There is no great minds lana he is just bored mampara
Lol,why is this guy not in Zimbabwe changing lives? If his ideas work, surely the people of Zimbabwe will benefit from him
It’s just a conversation sharing ideas.
@@MenelikAlkebulan Elon didn't tell Americans what they must do,he invented things that improved their lives
I'm a Zimbabwean Peniel but I can tell you that Rutendo is a psychological dunderhead, someone does not need to be sophistical and educated to be heard and validated. You did a good job to expose that in this interview.
Please Watch the interview again.
My problem with Ru is that like every other African they think they can come to SA and out debate out smart out economy etc us here in SA when their countries are non negotiable, strictly for only them. It is disingenuous from this brother of ours.
Pen you don't press him enough on Zim issues
The subject of illegal immigrants is getting too intellectualized for no reason. Illegal means not in accordance with the the law and therefore not acceptable. Whats there to have a heated argument about such?
Mentally stimulating and inspiring conversations
My calendar should open up 2025 i need to sit with you guys. Great conversations great minds!🤯 Great talk on foreigners and working together as Africans
