I just started watching your channel on Christmas morning. I got a drone on Christmas Day so I turned in on Christmas Day and typed in drone and one of first video came up was flying drones for the first time. It has been raining here in California. I want to say thank you and your wife for the videos you put out.

Absolutely love mine, i run a 4000mah 30c battery in mine with an gooniac after burner. Due to a crash i did a minor upgrade for larger battery's if i wanted. Dropped the floor to lower the battery below the centerling. Added bracing to the nose and removed that black box. Flys amazing.
That plane is one of my favorite EDF jets. It flies AMAZING
Best maiden flight I've ever watched you do. And you stuck that landing! I was not into jets but that one would have sorely tempted me. I just finished assembling my hangar queen (inverted ceiling mount) FMS 1400 Pitts V2 and had the same problem with my tail mounting screw until placing the nose into a wall. Then I was able to use one hand to push the tail fully into a tight, screw hole alignment, and the other to then easily turn the Torx screw down. I just now subscribed realizing that I have definitely gotten a lot of enjoyment out of yours and Abby's dedication to helping us active and retired hobbyists vicariously fly many different R/C planes.. Good luck freeing the nose gear to 100% operation. 👍
I have the 1400mm Pitts. Best mod I’ve done is cut the pinched foam hinges on all control surfaces loose and install pinned hinges… it lowers the force required for full deflection a tremendous amount. I also swapped all the servos for digital metal gear; plastic gear servos on a plane that size is ridiculous, IMO.
That Yaking RC plane ✈️ sounds amazing too happy flying all 😊😊😊😊⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️
On my maiden flight with this plane, I was testing it's glide rate, and pitched up, after which it tumbled just like @5:54. Luckily, I got some power on and saved it before coming in for a greased landing on grass. I prefer using a 6S 2700 as it comes in nice and light. With a 6S 3300, it just lands heavy and doesn't handle quite as easily. I even flew it for a few minutes on a 6S 2200 that got sent to me by mistake (I ordered a 4S 2200). It flew two circuits and then I had to land. It's stable in winds up to 15 mph and the trailing link gear handles all kinds of landings. Excellent EDF for a grass runway (if it's pretty short).
Great maiden flight!! Can't wait to see part two when you feel more comfortable with this one. Looks like you might have found a new favorite. And as always, great video and keep them coming!

As a RC person, do you plan to one day build your own plane and not just get and fly foam plane from China? a lot of us think the planning and building is more then half the fun unless you are a RC newbie! but hey, whatever float your boat!
TBH, I’d LOVE to build something from an actual kit. Here’s the thing though: Having a TH-cam channel, at least one that we are so active on really is my “10 year kit” and counting! The time others have to build a kit has been replaced for me, with this channel. All assemblies of the RCs that I do have are done by myself exclusively, while surrounded by two very young children, my wife, and our dog. All filming is done by myself and Abby, while juggling life, work, etc… all editing and uploading is done by myself and Abby while preparing dinner, changing diapers, taking out the trash, etc… So I’ve made a choice really, like most people! For the amount of content we create, and the balance of all other aspects of life, this is about all I can juggle to keep other aspects of my life in a healthy balance. I hope that is a fair answer to your question! Also, I would love to support more things made in our own country if possible! 👍💯🇺🇸❤️⚓️
When I joined the ranks of a an airplane modeler in the late 1950's there was no choice other than to kit build. I found enjoyment and satisfaction, even when doping tissue like paper onto my wings. But i found the ultimate thrill in flying them until I managed to re-kit them. Then ARFs appeared and really saved on time to the sky, but still let me choose a kit when I needed a winter project to engage in. Now at age 77, I am out of the sky, but the PNP FMS Pitts 1400 V2 is so beautiful that I bought one just to hang from my ceiling! Just as Nate described above, many R/C enthusiasts have time constraints, commitments, budgets, room space etc to contend with and the PNP or even PNF choices are the best of best alternative for so many of us, whatever our reasons. I think Nate and Abby's boat floats best when helping others.😀

I have the V1 Yak-130. I could use the shock absorbing new gear. It flies well, but I have an issue where it wobbles when on SAFE. It's ok with just AS3X.

Can you add grass take off and landings in your reviews. Most of us only have access to grass fields. I like to know if a plane will handle grass.

One thought on the nose gear retracting issues - could it have been due to the steering being slightly off of straight ahead? I've seen some nose gear that will bind a bit on the steering linkage if it's not perfectly aligned for straight center.
How come the canopy stayed on this one????? 🙂

Am interested in buying this model. Can I get more information about length, height, flying time b4 recharge etc.
It's about 1100mm long by about 800mm wide, 500mm tall, 1.8kg. On a 6S 2700, it flies a full 3.5 minutes. With a 6S 3300, I got 4 minutes plus a bit. I have 2 of each battery and often fly both of them one after the other.

Aren’t most 6S EDFs more expensive than this? Not saying it’s a small amount of money, just comparing to other things on the market. ⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors In general 70mm 6S high performance EDF's are around $295 bucks. I can literally list the links if you want or the names of each aircraft... but I don't really want to steer anyone away because you guys rock. Unfortunately this is very bare bones even for a 70mm and the extra $50+...I just don't see it anywhere. It's still a fantastic flying jet though. :)
Fair enough. I guess the recent inflation hikes have made me lose some track of prices. I’ve recently flown the FMS A-10 twin 80mm and the new FMS 80mm Sabre and both are quite a bit more expensive than this. That’s probably why I was thinking $450+ when I made my statement regarding price. Thanks for being classy and taking the time comment/ reply! 💯⚓️

Why should you be given a free plane? Because you asked for one 4 days in a row?
This is sort of a “thing” now. Hey, we appreciate your view and comment! I will say: we do give away RCs regularly but it’s more on a local level now to families in need. Used to do giveaways online but it attracts the wrong crowd sadly, which really hurts a channel more than anything. Wish we could give things away to long time viewers in an easy to keep track of sort of way.
Also, we do work for everything we have. Just saying, if these RCs were free, everyone would get them for free, right? We chose to use some of our time to work hard and make content which some people and companies find value in. This hard work has earned us some free and discounted foam through the years, but trust me, it generally doesn’t touch even minimum wage for the time put into it. We do this because we enjoy it!
