I have been playing for a decade+ and this video is finally what made all this click in my head. Realized for my uses a plate reverb makes more sense when I have struggled with getting the sound I want from a hall reverb pedal and a spring reverb in my amp. So thank you!
Thanks a lot Antoine for this great video. I wish I had this video several years when I discovered ambient guitars and reverbs (because not so many talk about the different use cases from the different reberb's types). For me, reverbs are what make the guitar (and music in general) comes to life, something that como from your soul and very spiritual. Reverbs are really dope and a joy to play with (especially the shimmer reverbs woooowww). Life is far better with reverbs :D
Helpful as always! Just started your Kordz program, hafta say till now this would be the best course I’ve ever taken, been doing all the exercises everyday and noticed my fretboard visualization is definitely getting better! Much appreciated🎉
How does Cloud reverb fit into the different types? Is it kind of like a swell reverb and hall mixed into one? Thanks, great video. Interesting hearing why you use plate over hall sometimes!
Good question! I think it would be most logical if Cloud was a variation upon Plate, because it's definitely not a ''natural'' reverb. But it might be just another type using a different technique entirely (manual said ''techniques developed in the late 70's, but doesn't add much more). We would have to ask Strymon for more details!

My pleasure!
Wonderful, another nice clear bit of instruction. Thank you!

I just got a BigSky this week and was looking for someone to walk through all the modes. Perfect timing.
