60's, early 70's Triumph TT trackers are some of prettiest motorcycles ever made.
You can tell Ken senior is living in the moment with snow on the ground and no gloves, Jacket or crash hat but that Triumph has him smiling.
I have had the "Lemmy Kilmister" stache for months now, and I think I'm gonna get me the "Kaplan America" now. Sweet bike too, got me half chubbed.

Evel jumped over the fountains on a 1967 Triumph Bonneville T-120 650cc. Evel also used a Laverda 750cc American Eagle for some other early jumps. Great video Ken, thanks for the mention!

I think the bike clocked 136 at Daytona was a 750 trident powered bike,iirc correctly there were 3 discipline's in cycle racing to be crowned national champion,flat track, TT and road race.Flat track and TT used similar bikes,maybe even the same ones with different set ups,the road race bikes were pretty exotic for their era
Yeah, that was the triple. His was the only one that finished because he kept the revs up while the others grenaded due to detonation.

Fucking awesome bike I never knew the TT bikes ran stock frames a piece of motorcycle history.I'm in the UK and have a Wood Rotax and a Knight Honda i also owned a Champion Yamaha 750 the frame ended up with a guy in France.

The alu oil tank on it is another rare part. I had one on a TT Bonnie I built that looked like Gene's bike. I've currently got something even closer to it. But mine has a flowed, center-plug head from one of the Japanese gamble racers and Amals specially made for the 'gamble bikes, 750 cylinders, balanced crank, cam, etc. and it's a freaking monster. Sounds even gnarlier than Gene's old bike does here. Mine doesn't look as pretty though.
Aldana/Romero story (as well as I can remember it).... Romero built up his half-miler during the off season, fresh Axtell engine, custom paint, looked absolutely tits. Romero and Aldana are gazing at it in admiration and Gene says: "It's almost too perfect to race." Aldana:"Yeah, it's too perfect," picks up a ball peen hammer, klonks it onto to the tank, chipping the paint and says, "Now it's ready to go racing."

I can't see how a bike like that would go for anything less than 6 figures. 18 made, 3 different style suspension set ups with a racing style gear box. This may be my favorite bike you have next to your Kap AM CR500. I'd make everyone in the family get a second job before this one went up for sale lol Seriously, when will you ever get another chance at one of these? The bike would be in Jesus's collection.
