Omg! I just stumbled upon your podcast and in the first few minutes everything you said is exactly how I think! I could knit all day every day, knitting and needlepointing with family, knitting gets me out of bed, and sometimes I can’t sleep because I’m thinking about how excited I am to knit!!!!
HAHAHA! I love it! Makes me soooooo happy to know there are like minded people out there! Happy knitting sweet friend! And thank you so much for the visit! xx
So happy to see a new episode from you! I’m at my grandmas in Ohio near Canton and we flew into Pittsburgh and I told my husband “I need to go see Leslie!” 😂 he thinks I’m nuts but aren’t we all a little bit to be knitters? Love your Billie, she’s gorgeous ❤
PS I made the pop life cardigan, and messed up the mattress sewing of the sleeves, I followed your instructions up to that point, do you have any tips? (If you even remember)
Leslie, I love your Billie. Makes me want to make it. I would have shared your concern about the yarn and am happy that you are pleased. I also could really relate to waking up and thinking about the projects. However, 2 hours is about all the daily knitting time I can manage, although I would like to do more.
OMG!! Leslie your knits are always spectacular and your Billy is just a classic and showstopping piece-- You are a star!! Love you to the moon and back. Thank you for this does of beauty!
My dream; to sit and knit whenever I want to! Thank you for sharing all the inspiring patterns. Next on my list is the butterfly blanket. 2 new babes to knit for! First I need to finish the the final rib on my ranunculus. So fun! I had in stash some very old Denim Silk by Berroco which has worked up beautifully. Make one out of whatever! It has been a fun knit.
I always watch your videos with a paper and pencil to write down the patterns and yarn you use. So many beautiful things! I really appreciate that you don't always use the expensive yarns.
Sitting and knitting this evening and catching up with Leslie! That Billie is incredible - I have a navy yarn that would make a great Billie pullover… but for now also saving the Neverending Story sweater to my faves. So good!
Thank you Leslie!! I could listen to you all day. Love your summer knits and was thrilled to hear that you used cascade 220 on a sweater. I still have quite a bit of that yarn. May give it a try for something other hats or felting.
I love seeing your podcast pop up. Your Billie Pullover turned out just gorgeous! You did such a beautiful job on it. I too am so grateful for my knitting, I was also taught by my grandmother as a child and it's been a life long love affair, even when it wasn't popular to knit over here in Australia. I am currently in my pj''s knitting and thinking how I need to exercise and do some things but I want to knit!! 😍
Ha! Donna! That is the story of my life! My brain saying go exercise but my heart saying knit! 🤭😁😍 happy knitting friend! And thanks so much for spending some time here! 🩷
Hi Leslie your Billie is gorgeous. It looks it has the right amount of ease. Do you mind telling how much ease yours has? As always your podcast is always a joy.
Just returned from 4th of July in Pittsburgh with my 9 mos old granddaughter and her parents(my son and daughter-in-law) and I knit the whole way there and the whole way home(I live in Virginia) it was glorious to have time to car knit! Love your summer knits! I want to knit the clover tee!
Hello Leslie! I just finished knitting the Leela top using Katia Coton Cachemire. It was such a joy to knit with this yarn. The texture of the yarn is beautiful. I am not a fan of knitting with coton buy this yarn changed my mind. Always nice to see your knits. Have a good day! Elise x
Hello friend 🥰 Billie looks so good. The Italian BO looks so neat, I’m going to swap to that where integrity isn’t required, looks so clean. Never ending story 🥰 might just jump onto that one soon, I’m loving that I’m calming down and knitting more staple things rather than fun things I don’t reach for enough 😳 my knitting journey/leaning is finally growing up a bit, I’m not though!! My son/his fiancé took my parents back to Ireland for July. All my family is there, I only have my parents and 2 kids in Aust so ¾ of my family left me. Have fun, enjoy the craic and happy knitting. Thanks for sharing, Karen 🥰
Knitting is our happy place. If your a knitter you know but if you don’t knit your at a lose. I stopped knitting for about 6 years long story but a few months ago I started again and I in love. Thank you for your podcast I so enjoy you. I knit a lot of shawls as a plus size person but love seeing all your sweater. God bless. 😊
Hi Leslie. Love to see your podcasts. Knitters united all over the world. I'm from Germany and I too love to meet with my friends for knit and talk. And we have a tradition, now even for 40 years, in autumn we rent a house in Denmark for a week or two, near by the sea in the dunes for talking, knitting, walk at the beach and having a good time together. It's gorgeous. For a summer garn instead of that you cannot get anymore, I can recommend LINE by Sandness. It's a cotton-linnen-viscose blend and comes in 3 thicknesses: fingering, dk and worsted. And in so many colours It knits well and is wonderful to wear. Best greetings. Go on to podcast and stay as you are. You are wonderful.
How wonderful to be with just your girls knitting and enjoying your days!!! What a wonderful tradition!!! And yay!! That is the yarn I am waiting for! I guess it’s been pretty popular so I should understand why it’s on backorder! Thanks so much for watching sweet Friend and happy knitting! 🩷🩷🩷🩷
Thank you for sharing your summer knits (both already done and those you would like to get done this year). I live in EC and summer knits are definitely more of the knits I look for. Love seeing a new episode and I hope you're enjoying a very good summer.
Only just discovered you channel. Where have I been?? You struck a chord with me because I too love to knit all day and sometimes I feel so judged by friends and even family. 😕 It really helps to know there are kindred spirits out there! Love your summer knits. I’ve taken note for when the weather heats up here in Sydney Oz.

Love your pile of summer knits and your Billie looks great in that cascade 220. I love Paulastrickt so much and have so many of her patterns on my list to make. I’m actually knitting on the Thea Top while watching your video. This little summer top is such a great staple as well. I love Leknit as well. I made her peacock tee last summer and wear it so much. I love that clover tee and palm tee as well. She has such beautiful designs as well. Oh I love that yarn you bought with the forest green kid silk. The combo is beautiful. And I’m with you a day of knitting is the best for sure. I love having those days. Haha and yup my knitting as gets me excited and up in the early morning. 😊
We have such similar taste! Love all of those as well!!! I have the Thea top in my library but have yet to knit it. I really must! Happy knitting friend! 🩷
@@LeslieFriend yes we do! That’s why I love watching your podcast and following you on instagram. I’m almost done with my Thea top and it’s so good. Definitely cast on for it. It’s a quick one too. I also have a podcast here on TH-cam if you want to see some of my makes. 😊🧶
Hi Leslie! Do you have a video on how you wash your sweaters? If not, can you make one??!! Your sweaters look wonderful even though you love to wear them! I so appreciate your philosophy...knit what you will wear. Thanks 😊
I love your first comment! Thats me....knit all day every day. I have to break up the time a little with other hobbies and activities but knitting is a true passion I just adore!
As always, you knocked it out of the park with this episode. Your joy as a knitter is palpable and inspiring. I would love to knit an all-over cabled sweater too, but I’ve hesitated because of fear that all that cabling in the armhole area might be too bulky and uncomfortable. I’m assuming your Billie isn’t bothering you that way or you’d have said so. RE: summer knits, I think Joji Locatelli’s new Hipster Top might be on my needles soon. Enjoy the summer!
Hi sweet friend! Awe. Thank you so much! No, the cable of is no bother at all. I do think being a larger size than you would normally wear is a good idea! I don’t feel it all all! I have to take a look at the new hipster! Thank you!!! Happy knitting friend! 🤍
Always love seeing that you're knitting another Butterfly Baby Blanket, one of my favorite projects. It's perfect for an cozy knitting holiday. Every half-hour or so here comes the butterfly stitch row 😍. Oh happy day!
I was so excited when I saw that you had a new episode. I had been thinking about you and the butterfly blanket. I’m going to get yarn tomorrow to make one for my grandson for his birthday in November. I love all of your summer knits and i can’t wait to see your summer Ranunculus, I’m just finishing a white one for myself. I hope you are going somewhere super fun for your next trip. Always so nice to “see” you again beautiful friend. 😍💖
Hello sweet friend! So nice to hear we are working on the same things! 🦋Can’t wait to see your ranunculus!! It is already looking wonderful! Happy knitting (and stitching!) sweet friend!
Just found you. Knit all day. Of course! From comments, looks like you’re in Pittsburgh. (great city) I’m there every other month to visit my mom (96), who taught me to knit. Unfortunately she has lost the knitting part of cognition, but still enjoys that I knit while reading archeology articles to her. Great little shop in Oakmont, “Yarns by Design”. Thank you.

Thanks for the time, Leslie! Everything is beautiful! I think the vintage would be great for a Ranunculus. Don't live far from wool and co at all. All the best, Kimberly
Awe. Thank you for the visit Kimberly! And for your kind words! Lucky you to live so close to wool and co! I would be there all the time! Happy knitting friend!🩷

Enjoy your summer travel! I'm wrapping up a month here (working) in Italy. But still, Italy! I took knitting along, of course, and finished a Deschaine in LINE, and can highly recommend that yarn. I have some ANTIGONE yarn in the wings, with might make a nice Slope? Thank you for your great suggestions!
Hi!!! a month in Italy! ! Lucky you! Sounds like a dream… Thanks so much for the sadnes garn line recommendation. I do have some on order and can hardly wait to try it. It’s on back order. I guess it’s been pretty popular. Maybe I’m just late to the party! Happy knitting and friend! 🩷🩷🩷
Your Billie is stunning. Over the past several years, I turned myself into a yarn snob but I recently mended my ways and began purchasing Cascade 220 again from the Webs website. I absolutely love knitting with it and it's such a bargain.

Hi there, Happy 4th to you too! Love your choices of patterns. I'm still investigating my "style" in choosing knitting patterns. Any tips on that would be a great topic for an episode. Have a wonderful day. Good to see you again :)
Awe! That IS a great topic! I always think to myself “can I see myself wearing that out? Where would I wear that? Would I feel like me in that?!” That’s a good place to start. And it definitely takes a while to figure this out. Happy knitting sweet friend!❤️
Greetings from Chicago. Your Billie Pullover looks awesome! I appreciate the summer pattern recommendations. I was about to start another Ranunculus, but instead cast on the Magna Flora by Alisa Hartzel. It's a really good pattern and working up quickly. This is my first time using SandesGarn 'Line', which I am enjoying a lot . So far, it is the lightest weight (/density?) summer yarn I've ever tried, and now I finally know why its so popular.
I guess that’s why the yarn is on back order! I didn’t realize how popular it was, but that is what I am waiting for for my Clover Tee! Glad to know that you love it! I also love the Magna Flora! Happy knitting friend!🩷🩷🩷 ps LOVE Chicago!
Hi Victoria! WOW! I am so so sorry for the late reply! It was a gift and I was waiting for my friend to let me know where she purchased it! It's from Baby Gold. Here is the link to the charm: www.babygold.com/collections/all/products/14k-gold-puff-heart-charm
I love your style. I watch you often and feel very inspired! One of the sweaters you mentioned, the never ending story, you would not make it again. Is it because of the yarn or something about the pattern? It’s beautiful and I think it’s a real staple piece. I would like to knit it. Thank you.
Awe! Thank you so much Ellena! Ohhhhh Just because it took so long! I kept calling it the never ending sweater! But once is perfect! :) Happy knitting! x x
Leslie, love watching your blogs, though I am a little late on watching this one. The sweater you msde with Shibui (Twig)...I think I recently read that Madeline Tosh (I think?) has picked up Shibui yarns and will be bringing out many of their types ?
Hi Dede! Whoops! Forgot to add to the show notes... I have now and here you go: www.etsy.com/listing/1331338277/1570-mm-cotton-with-logo-or-text-sewing?click_key=5d9e56cebf58bb98ce78b51b7a4924a70cb17dc2%3A1331338277&click_sum=cde4de14&ref=shop_home_active_2&pro=1&sts=1 Happy knitting! xx
Hi Leslie, could I ask why you would not make the NeverEnding sweater again? I love the way it looks but am still too new to start anything that I can’t finish. (I am on the seventh floor now. Do you believe we will knit in heaven?) I am going to get your pattern for the Butterfly Blanket soon; it is just so cute and I just need something to throw over my legs in the winter. I have one more podcast and then I will be all caught up on what you are up to. Found a new girl today, I think she is in Sweden. She did a great job on her first podcast. Maybe you can reach out to her and give her some of your amazing encouragement. Knits.by.Wilma. Working on Christmas gifts and I will also be purchasing the Toast pattern for my sister. She grew up in FL so gets a little chilly here in NC. I will miss catching up with you daily!
HI Liz! Aren't you just the sweetest! Thank you so much for all of the visits! Love having a new friend to knit with! I don't think I would make another Never Ending Sweater because it is Never Ending! Ha! True to its name! It truly went on and on.... However... I adore wearing it! I will most certainly give out new podcast friend a visit! THANK YOU for letting me know! Happy knitting sweet friend! xoxo and YES! We will be knitting in heaven. :) Hugs!
FYI... Shibui was purchased by Laura Zander of Jimmy Beans Wool. She is transitioning it to Mad Tosh. You may want to email them to see if they are going to produce the linen.
Hi Leslie! Your podcasts are always interesting! In this one I heard you say that you resolve some "too large" issues by using a dryer. It talks to me a lot as I knit a lettlopi sweater for my son 2 years ago . I think the sweater grew and my son "shrunk" so now the sweater is too big. Could you give me some tricks as how you do this, how long, etc... It could save this sweater and prevent it from going at Goodwill😅
Thank ;you Janet! Slip 2 stitches individually as if to knit... Then insert left hand needle into the two stitches from front and knit them together. Hope that helps! xx
Hi Leslie..... Don't mention the pop life cardigan!! ..... I finished knitting it at the beginning of this year, but I couldn't figure out how to sew it up !!....... I know I'm seriously daft!! 😐 I looked on instagram and Ravelry, everything to try and figure it out.. I bought it as a kit with the instructions and everything.... However, I was truly baffled by it, and I ripped the whole lot back. 😢...... Even though the knitting part was easy.❤ xx
Leslie I love your Billie sweater and I am going to have a go at making it. My question is I know you said you made a medium but when I looked at the pattern it comes in sizes. Can I ask please what size did you use please. You look the same size as me. Regards Glen.
Leslie, love your Billie pullover. I so need that! Just curious, do you make the labels you give with your blankets or do you order those from somewhere? They are a great idea. Thanks for another great podcast!
HI Michelle! I just make them on my computer and then cut them according to what I write and the space needed. Hope that helps! Happy knitting friend! xx
Hi Maria! Thank you! And whoops! Forgot to add to the links list. I have now but just in case.... www.etsy.com/listing/1331338277/1570-mm-cotton-with-logo-or-text-sewing?click_key=5d9e56cebf58bb98ce78b51b7a4924a70cb17dc2%3A1331338277&click_sum=cde4de14&ref=shop_home_active_2&pro=1&sts=1
Hi Leslie. Another great chat. Funny you should sign off about not being happy with what’s on your needles … I’m not happy with what’s on my needles so this morning I frogged half a jumper and one sleeve(!). Have decided to try and gind a nice cable to knit in Aran weight instead. Any suggestions from anyone would be most welcome. 🙏 ❤
Awe! Thank you for the visit Liesl! Good going frogging that and making space for something new that you will love! I will keep my eye out for an Aran weight cable! Happy knitting friend!❤️
Lesley do you have or know of a simple lightweight shawl pattern ( to be worn as a wrap round scarf) with a pattern but for beginners/ intermediate knitters? . I have some home spun ombré yarn which is fingering weight. Just can’t find a fairly simple pattern
hi Leslie, could you please give a little more of the info on the yarn you held at the end of the episode? - brown with green and dark green mohair.. Thank you!
Hi Elena! Yes! I bought it at forever yarn in doylestown PA. It is Gepard kid Seta in color 880 and I’m going to hold it with LITLG (life in the long grass) in color Fullers clay. 💚🤎🤍
HI! SO sorry forgot to add to the links! I have now.... but here it is: www.etsy.com/listing/1331338277/1570-mm-cotton-with-logo-or-text-sewing?click_key=5d9e56cebf58bb98ce78b51b7a4924a70cb17dc2%3A1331338277&click_sum=cde4de14&ref=shop_home_active_2&pro=1&sts=1 happy knitting! xx
The billie pullover. What is the stitch that looks like honeycomb called? I have a store bought wool sweater that has that, and I would love to see how that stitch is made. Thanks!
Just a curious question. You travel quite a bit and every now and then you mention working at a boutique, how do manage so much knitting traveling and a job? Do you really just fill in now and again at the boutique because how else would you get so much time off for travel and time to knit. Just curious and I am not trying to pry
Hi Charlene! Awe~ Not prying at all! I work at the shop 6-8 days a month is all. And my husband has Ants in his Pants! SO if we can go... we do! :) I also knit ALL the time! I think I am actually doing it in my dreams too! HA! Happy knitting friend! xx

Oh dear. I was taught that technique from my mom. Not difficult. I would do it for you!😍

@@loveoffiberswell I’m so excited to learn of your podcast!!! Can’t wait to watch!🩷🩷🩷

I'm the same way and I get the same questions!! I can knit for hours and hours! Love your podcast!!!

Leslie🌸 the Billie Pullover is so gorgeous👌🩷 and all summer sweaters are absolutely amazing 💫💫💫
Awe. Thank you friend! Happy knitting! 💚💚💚
Hi Leslie! Do you have a video on how you wash your sweaters? If not, can you make one??!! Your sweaters look wonderful even though you love to wear them! I so appreciate your philosophy...knit what you will wear. Thanks 😊
Wow that sweater is absolutely stunning!!!
THANK YOU! xx
I love your first comment! Thats me....knit all day every day. I have to break up the time a little with other hobbies and activities but knitting is a true passion I just adore!
Ha! YESSSSSSS! So happy to know I'm not alone! :)
LOVE your Billie Pullover!!
Thank you!!!😍
As always, you knocked it out of the park with this episode.
I used the Berocco Vintage for my first Ranunculus and I love it. ❤
Yay!!! Such great news! Thank you!🩷
Always love seeing that you're knitting another Butterfly Baby Blanket, one of my favorite projects. It's perfect for an cozy knitting holiday. Every half-hour or so here comes the butterfly stitch row 😍.
Oh happy day!
Hi Vivian! Thanks so much for stopping by sweet friend and for loving the best friend butterfly blanket! Happy knitting!🦋🩵🦋
Oh so beautiful! And it fits you so well ❤
Thank you soooo much! xx
Thank you.
Awe! How wonderful! YES! Yarns by Design is a great little shop... I work at Carabella right down the street! Come in when you are in town! :)

Hahaha! I hear ya!! That was me too! But I truly believe there is a place for all the yarns. 😍🥰 happy knitting friend! 🩷

The Billie is gorgeous. My experience with Cascade 220 wasn’t great, but I hope yours is better.
Hi Rosemary! Thank you! I actually can’t believe how nice it feels! I hope it will wear well, too! Happy knitting friend!🩷
Another lovely podcast. I so want to knit garments but the decision around yarn, getting gauge, and size choice is so overwhelming for me. X
You can do it Sharon! Do you have a local yarn shop that could help? That is a great place to start! xx

Great to see you Leslie! Your knits are always beautiful and awe inspiring! Did your hornets come back this year? Safe travels. 🌸🌼🌻
Awe! Thanks for watching friend!
No… the hornets never occupy the same nest twice. 🙁 the birds have thoroughly enjoyed it this spring and summer! ❤️
Leslie, love watching your blogs, though I am a little late on watching this one. The sweater you msde with Shibui (Twig)...I think I recently read that Madeline Tosh (I think?) has picked up Shibui yarns and will be bringing out many of their types ?

Thank you so much for that info Ronica! I will definitely check them out! Happy knitting friend~xx
The cabled sweater is beautiful. How did you do your SSK stitches? Thank you
Thank ;you Janet! Slip 2 stitches individually as if to knit... Then insert left hand needle into the two stitches from front and knit them together. Hope that helps! xx
that helps. thanks
Hi,
Beautiful sweaters! I’d love to learn how to knit more than just socks!😁
Which Fitbit do you have?
Hi! Socks are hard! You have enough skills to knit anything!!! I have the inspire. 🩷
I should have said the Inspire Fitbit!!!
Oh sugar pop!!!! Knit it again… I’ll put it together for you! 😍❤️

Hi Leslie. Another great chat. Funny you should sign off about not being happy with what’s on your needles … I’m not happy with what’s on my needles so this morning I frogged half a jumper and one sleeve(!). Lesley do you have or know of a simple lightweight shawl pattern ( to be worn as a wrap round scarf) with a pattern but for beginners/ intermediate knitters? . I have some home spun ombré yarn which is fingering weight. Just can’t find a fairly simple pattern
I just saw a TH-cam video (Knitty Natty) ~ she visited Jimmy Beans Yarns, the owner said she bought the Shibui line of yarns!!
SO good to hear! Thank you! I will have to look for it! Happy knitting, friend!
