      - I just don’t understand why companies want to use proprietary batteries. You could easily keep a couple extra 18650 batteries in your car and swap out as needed

@@Steve-Goff Ive had my series one strion with the same battery for 14 years and absolutely no issues or need for replacement. I run the piggyback so I always have a spare charged battery, nonetheless these batteries are prevalent its kind of a non issue, amazon, battery junction and many other vendors carry these fantastic rechargeable batteries.

I’m a pipefitter and have had a strion since 2010. It is an outstanding flashlight and I have sent it back to streamlight for warranty work which was outstanding as well. I just got the strion 2020 this week and it is a great light. However I am having a few issues with the low medium high switch. It is a bit longer than the original as well. So far I am impressed

Using a small magnet[Amazon] in the center of the ring you can charge these in a normal 18650 charger. Streamlight needs to get into the 21st century and run 21700 5000mAh batteries.

Some of these batteries are putting the positive and negative on the same end so you can’t use a traditional bay charger

The back of those batteries are negative. I know I have same type of batteries for my Olight Baton basically you have a negative on both sides and the positive is inside that little plastic ring. To sum it all up the entire body of those batteries are negative. The only part of a battery that is positive, is that little cap at the very top of the front of the battery

There’s really not “much better” out there. While Streamlight and surefire are both expensive and behind the curve on technology updates and lumens, they’re at the top in terms of Made In USA and reliability. I used to think the same thing, just buy any of the top 10 made in China brands. But they aren’t the same. In a life or death scenario, I’d pick Streamlight or surefire. They’ve been proven for decades in military and law enforcement environments.
