But what a predicament - they can't speak "Australia". Australians speak English. Same as people in USA. And no, James and his sister didn't have to live in the dangerous, vicious slum. Australia has a USA embassy who would have sorted it out for their citizens. They could have gone to the local police station and asked to be put in contact with the Embassy.
