Nice Rifles, thank you for sharing both the American and HOWA in my favorite cartridge.....I have been on the fence about picking up either one because I already have a Zastava M70 in 7.62x39 walnut and blue.
I am seriously considering this for my next gun purchase. Since Howas are known for accuracy, the limitations are the trigger puller, and the blammo you feed it. ❤ God bless the USA! 🙏🏼
I put together a nice “AR-47” with a barrel from BCA. I slugged the barrel just to make sure. Turns out the bore is .3065…. I’ve handloaded and fired a number of different bullets (.308) including firing the cheap steel case stuff with .310-.311 bullets. I chronographed all of it and inspected for any pressure signs. Nothing. She digested everything just fine, popping out the cases with ease and no dings…. Accuracy is about 1.5 MOA with my old eyes and using a 3x magnifier with a Holosun HS510C…..🤷🏻♂️
@@TK-df1xe I wouldn’t mind one with a bore that size, being stuck with .310 bullets kinda sucks lol. That’s one reason why I have moved over to 6.5 Grendel, bullets more common and available and small rifle primer instead of large.
I have the Jefferson outdoors bottom metal which uses the old Cz 527 mags. They’re out of stock rn but working on a new batch. Leaps and bounds better than the plastic offering that comes on the howa

I still use the SST steel case Horandy use to make. The PPU 123 pointed soft point crush deer!! At under a dollar a shot, not bad.

I wonder what the barrel whip looks like with that profile. Would rather have a shorter barrel for the given velocity and potentially better accuracy.

A guy I know got the heavy barreled action from Brownell's. He loaded the 115 308's meant for the 30 carbine. Says they shot just fine.

The bore on these is .310. I've used .308 bullets in the X39 for 30 years. Not particularly accurate, but they do work.
