Listening to jaydee is always spiritual.... i can remember my slum village concert i have visited after he passed away a few hours ago and it wasnt officially posted in the news. First i thought it was a bad joke. But the concert became an offical tribute evening. We were crying and celebrating his contributions. What a concert and special moment. I can remember how i was so shocked and asked dj dez like three times" maaan is he really dead. He gave me hug and we smoked a blunt together reminiscing about his achievments. Thank you jay dee... i will never forget this moment to hear about his passing from his friend before the news went public. Wow.... Rest in beats
2002, and I was coming back to Kuwait from being forward deployed to Afghanistan. Found out some fucking cocksucker stole all the CDs I ever bought (300+, pre iPod, MiniDisc era) and the only albums I had were SV Trinity and Dirty District (surprisingly got them delivered to Afghanistan but couldn't listen). Anywho, Dilla barely had any production on this album but One and Hoes (especially this outro) blew out my Koss headphones. I remember telling my friend on the flight line to peep this beat. 🤯. 👑 of 🥁. Thanks for the walk through memory lane once again Jordan Henderson. 💯
I remember playing this song on repeat all the way from central VA to the beach. And I used play it for birds that were acting like the song. I later stopped cause realized i was blessing them with greatness!
lmao. If you knew the amount of beats and beat cassettes that are dusted in ma dukes basement that never seen light of day. I mean in just '96 he had like 4 beat tapes. The one that made it out was whattup doe session. And rest is parted out amongs heads that are not willing to post if freely online. Including myself That's why everyone is asking for "trades"
I remember the first time I heard this on the trinity album, I was so disappointed that he wasn’t part of the group (Slum village) anymore & because this was pre internet the fans only found out when we copped the album. I had just started smoking (weed) and was listening to “hoes” with my ex and then this beat cut in at the end....we were eating Chinese food and her skin turned purple and then we made out lol Dilla’s joints were so on point they laced the one we were smoking at home
@@jordanhenderson3307 what can I say,Dilla legitimately changes lives 😂 I’ve even got a video of my friends and I chillin with his brother and frank n Dank on my channel 😝
Lumimind of course not ! but your reaction made me react too. I remember first hearing that third part comin through the original with the voice on top. Extasis feeling and all that. The way it sounds and layered is so mysterious and yet futuristic to me. To each his own ! 👌 Peace

Abi türkmüsün?
We know about the drums, but nobody's basslines are this on-point either.
EXACTLY
THEY'RE COMPLETELY ON ANOTHER LEVEL , UNPARALLELED... DILLA WAS A FORCE OF NATURE...
Never have I ever felt a bassline hop half as much as JD's
madlib tho..
The low end is always on point and often a big part of why he swings so much
Such a fucking vibe even still. I was in my late 20’s when. I copped this and here I am just turned 43 few days ago and this beat....STILL
The selection of unique samples Dilla had on his beat catalog were astounding.
Yea man dude would not hestitate to have a go at every single thing he came across.... and fuckin nail it

@@jordanhenderson3307 I ride pass his house where he did a bulk of recording at. It's hard to grasp that that's where...
