That little boy legit ran up and tried to pry his sister out of her opponent's grip. That there is the little brother instinct.
Hell, I would've done the exact same thing because I HATE violence. Of any kind.

Imagine how bad the sister’s opponent had felt. A little kid who think he did something wrong 😑 but he didn’t.

However cute, loving or heartwarming this little boy is, his action points out the major ethical problem with combat sports: when push comes to shove it IS an actual fight. Sure, it's not considered to be physical assault in a judicial way, because both competitors consent to it, but it's not entirely pretending or acting either: in combat sports, one must be serious about it and one must willingly and knowingly (!) apply holds and moves that are actually designed to inflict harm. Bjj people and combat sports fans will now probably jump in and shout: "it's no one's intention to harm anyone". And: "there are rules and the competitors know the ramifications and the risks. And the referee is there to see to it that the rules are followed and to stop the fight when a hold/move goes too far." I know all that, and yes, that little boy is unaware (ignorant) of these facts. But these facts don't take away the ethical problem. Heck, they actually even confirm it: rules, having to tap out and/or the ref stopping the fight are not only to make sure a fight evolves in an orderly way, they are mostly there for safety and to prevent injuries. My point is that these safety measures are not an option, but necessary because of the intrinsic problem of the whole concept of combat sports: you only win by applying intrinsically harmful moves and holds to begin with. This boy is actually a hero who points out the problem with combat sports. No, fighters don't want to actually hurt their opponent. But they do have to apply harmful moves. It does not look like two people caressing each other. It is a fight...

Violence is a part of human nature. Since the beginning of time. Naive to think it’s good or necessary to completely program it out of human.

@@luqmansheikh9988 His point was combat fighting could easily become serious in a split moment. Referees need to do better with keeping a mutual consenting sport safe for all parties. The little boy is a hero for recognizing what the Ref didn't. See! I read it and it only took me 2 years to respond.
