I definitely agree too many tracks are closing I live in New Jersey Atco and Englishtown are both gone I got Maple Grove which is an hour and a half away and I have Cecil which is about 3 hours away but we definitely need more people doing this instead of closing then, if people complain about kids drag racing will you just keep closing these drag strips down and see what happens because there's going to be no backside no front side no radial and no slick racing you can't keep close all these tracks down when people have all these race cars it's going to be a problem and it's going to be a safety problem think about that people two thumbs up to this man
All of these cities and counties who are shutting down tracks to get rid of racers are now having problems with street racing. Stop shutting them down and build more. Racing will never go away. It will just move to the streets again. Good for this man doing a great service for his town.
Congratulations to these people for having a vision and bringing it to reality. It was certainly not easy! Now that racers have a safe place to play, this will increase street and highway safety in the area. Great job!

Yes sir we need to support this man 2010 %.... Don't forget if you're going to put up a drag racing track you need to put up a bunch of big parking lots next to it for us drifters to come drift at.... Take a page out of Sonoma raceway book that used to have the drag racing on Wednesday night and they did the same thing at same night with drifting... You already have the people there you already have the safety crew their you only need to add one more ambulance and you're in...😎. Please give us kids a place to play make more racetracks otherwise we're coming to your town or our town and that's where we're going to have to play... I am a 62-year-old kid that still plays. 😁
Mr Gonzales- please move to Utah and do the same thing here 😂 we are screwed since RMR closed a few years back…. This is amazing and something many talk about but can’t afford to do here. Simply amazing. Thank you saving the sport 🙏🏻 without people like you, this sport will in fact die. Many blessings to you and your family!!!
It's a return to the early years of Hot Rodding when ingenious civic leaders, law enforcement and Entrepreneurs invested in public safety in the same way. By giving enthusiasts safe place to race.Drift Parks would help curb Street Takeovers and Sideshows as well
If you build it, they will come...This is what is needed. Not more penalties and cops. People like this sport and need appropriate places to do it. I saw the same thing happen with skateboarding in the 90s. We would do it in front of businesses and in the streets and people hated it. They started to build skate parks and now kids do it at the skate parks with their friends.
Komiforia frowns on the togetherness and unity racing instills. I'm sure they'll find a way to regulate it out of business. Hats off to Mr. Gonzales, hopefully his generous attitude will spread throughout the nation.
As racing fans we love it and we wish many more would do this. From the dealer you can now buy factory race cars. But at the same time a lot of tracks are closing or plan to.
I like the idea of this track, so far, NOT being an NHRA sanctioned track. Sure, adopting NHRA safety guidelines is important, but not their corporate attitude. IHRA, if anything, would be a better choice of racing body to align with.
Now see, this is how it's actually supposed to happen. Somebody in the community sees a need for something build something, and it benefits the entire community, the city, the county, everything, because why because it cut down street racing. This is what happens with when you take away all your racetracks, and all the racetracks that are available to the general public. When you do that, then street racing becomes a really serious problem and is very, very dangerous. It is insanely dangerous but the community in the city, standing behind this guy and buddy vacuum him up is should be experienced at every racetrack everywhere, because when that racetrack gets the backing of the local community, it's people, it's goat and the government, that is a winning situation for everybody involved. Not only does it take to street racing off of the streets, it takes people who we'd be spending money somewhere else that some other racetracking puts the end to your backyard, your pocket into that county, that cities tax dollars and that is what makes all of that work. And makes it worth it
The track comes first and then stupid people build houses around the race track. I hope that don’t happen here and that’s awesome that this man wants to build up the town.
Good luck. Pursuit of happiness in action! The same people handing out tax payer dollars in drugs to addicts will complain about this man using his money and donors money to create a safe place for car/race enthusiasts.
What inspired him? It's cheaper to build a track than give away money for tickets and cars to the cops for free. Next step, INSURANCE and Local Ordinance problems..
Where is the track you have opened? With the speeds and power of modern cars, 1/8 mile is the only way for some tracks to survive due to limited shut down area. Think about this, a top fuel car in 1980 was running 5.90 , now there are street driven cars ( Tom Bailey ) that have dipped into the very high 5's. . Besides, we don't know if there is enough space to make a 1/4 mile as $$$$ becomes available.
@@Wuggieee I bought some take-off slicks from a guy who runs 170 mph in the 1/8. Is he a fake racer? I have seen a car get airborne at 225 mph. Was that a real racer?
This is what we need more tracks opening and not closing.
This keeps drag racing alive for the younger generations to come. Congratulations sir.

Thats an awesome story. Great for him! Congrats
This is very refreshing to see given the tracks that are closing.
Then they’ll build a subdivision a few hundred yards away and tell him he’s a nuisance and has to leave.
I don't know why no one has ever built a motorsport themed subdivision with large garage/shops with a drag strip next to it.

Come to Nor cal, since SacRaceway is gone now
This guy is an automotive hero no?
Very good and for all the right reasons.
Looks like a good Track, nice to see a new track come in instead of racers losing a track especially in California.
WOW, HOW COOL IS THAT? NICE
cool
Yeah, until the locals complain about noise and the city decides to build on the land through eminent domain. Look at Cletus McFarland's track.
Very cool
Good in so many ways!!!
