I paid off my house in 15 years in California, many nurses did the same, they saved/invested and paid off their house in 10-20 years. SA UMPISA MAHIRAP SIYEMPRE dahil nag-start ka from scratch pero SARAP-BUHAY na sa US kapag paid off na ang bahay, mga kotse at wala ng utang. Tsaka kahit may bills, makaka-ipon pa rin kung masinop ka sa pera at hindi maluho at mabisyo. AT least sa US, kahit utang ang bahay at kotse eh natitirhan at nada-drive mo na araw-araw. Eh sa Pinas? There is a Loma Linda medical university and medical center(trauma), Veterans Affairs medical center, and other hospitals. Cost of housing is not as expensive as San Francisco or Los Angeles. Loma Linda is close to Redlands, another topnotch medium city with great schools. There are so many options for nurses in California and in any State. We have 330M people in 50 states that need nurses. Good luck!

There are many private hospitals and govt-run hospitals in California like Veteran Affairs, Indian Affairs and County hospitals. All of nurses I know are homeowners in these cities and have work-life balance. Big cities like San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles suck, cost of housing is too much and traffick is horrendous plus there are many homeless on the streets with drug, alcohol and mental problems! Small and medium cities are the best for work and play in California.
