In explanatory sequential design is it possible to have a different kind of respondent on quantitative and qualitative research?

Thank you very much. My supervisor asked me to use the exploratory sequential mixed methods design. I was lost but thanks to you I have found my way.

    Name: Gresos, Cristine V.
Time and Section: (T-TH 8:30-10:00 AM) ED 303- Section D
    Module 14
    Summary
The video entails a mixed method in research. A mixed methods is a research approach that uses both the quantitative and qualitative approach. Qualitative and Quantitative research were also defined in the video being presented. It was said that we used mixed research to compare results coming from qualitative and quantitative. There are three sequential designs being tackled in the video, explanatory, exploratory, and sequential embedded design. In addition, qualitative question always begin with how and what. While quantitative question can be hypothesis nor simply question. Lastly, the methodological issues were also explained as such concurrent design and sequential design.
    Reflection
Overall, I find this video informative. I also learned that in research it is possible to use both quantitative and qualitative and it is called mixed. As far as I can recall in qualitative research it is more on the quality, behavior of a certain subject. While quantitative is used for numerical purposes. And yet just after watching this video I learned about the Mixed which considers both.

I am stuck with sample size.do the sample size in questionnaire method and interview method would be the same? And what about the pre developed questionnaire? Should we have to use that scale for both methods?

Thanks for this easy to follow (for me) breakdown of mixed methods. Timely for me as I am currently writing a proposal for an education research degree. Regarding the potential ethical issues raised around 21:10 are there any relating to the exploratory design? That is the one that seems to fit my proposal and is not mentioned.
