It really makes no sense that the Brotherhood are cool with an unknown outsider wander around key areas of their hidden base. It makes them come across as naive and stupid, rather than what they're supposed to be, paranoid and xenophobic.
They should have made it so you either have to earn significant trust with them in quests first, or that you have to really be good at stealth, getting around their base unnoticed.
As it is, an amature pickpocket can non-chalantly wander in their base and easily take it out in five minutes, just provided they're friends with Veronica, which apparently doesn't take much more than saying hello to her and not openly dissing the Brotherhood.

Faction Armor resets the Reputation of a faction to neutral as long as you wear it. So for it to work you'd need an NCR Armor
Another faction's attire won't grant you concealment Oxhorn
You would have to wear the hostile faction's attire

Because being white glove society doesn't have anything to do reputation wise with the NCR

Don't forget all the rampant misogyny. The Legion is a Roman version of The Handmaid's Tale. They view women as nothing but brood mares for the state. The NCR and Mr. House don't, thankfully, and neither does a good Courier (assuming they take over after rubbing out House and installing Yes Man). Which brings to mind the White Legs from Honest Hearts. There's a good chunk of squadettes among them; don't they know what signing up for Caesar's Legion actually means? The men would be executed, boys indoctrinated into the Legion's ideology, and the women enslaved. How does Caesar sleep at night?
The closest I've EVER come to helping the Legion in any way? I taught them to disarm landmines. I taught Siri to stretch her ingredients for healing powder. I duped Caesar into thinking I destroyed Mr. House's army when I first spoke to him. I managed to get just enough fame that I could get Legion money from the dropboxes, which are themselves a game-breaker. Even if you turn against the Legion later, the aureii, denarii, and ammo still respawn every three days; you just don't get the quest to go get them and have to remember where the dropboxes are. Then go to a casino, convert those Legion coins to chips, win big at blackjack/slots/roulette, and then convert your winnings to caps--CHA-CHING! Only after I've gotten enough Legion fame to unlock Caesar's Favor do I then recruit Boone and turn against the Legion in such playthroughs. Killing the Legion at Cottonwood Cove, killing Caesar and Vulpes, and saving the NCR hostages at Nelson are more than enough to get those trust points and unlock I Forgot to Remember to Forget from there. All that is from a game where I really wanted to hedge my bets. For RP purposes, I lulled Caesar into a false sense of security before striking him. I waited to kill Mr. House til after I'd gotten far along enough in For The Republic, though. After that, I then went to Novac to recruit Boone, then to the Fort to kill Caesar and Vulpes. Only then did I gear up to do Boone's quest, make more progress in For the Republic (Read: Up til allying the NCR and Brotherhood), do Arcade's quest, and install Yes Man. That was one of my proudest games of New Vegas to date.
Caesar himself doesn't believe these things. He's too smart and educated for that. He brainwashed his legionaries to believe these things because they're more effective at breeding slave women if they see women as subhuman. Not a good thing but it's something to keep notice of.
And destroying tribal identity is necessary if your goal is to unite bickering groups under one banner. Slavery and the use and abuse of women is evil. The brutal unification of warring tribes is the least bad offense.

I don't know if I would call him narcissistic, in fact I think he only sees himself as a half solution. Until his empire is properly built, and he finds a better successor to his newly minted empire. Or the facilitator to the solution, like the synthesis for example. And like how Caesar made Octavian into Augustus, the perfect emperor. Then was warned not to go to the senate upon the ides of March, by many people for various reasons. by physicians for medical reasons, his wife for relaxation, the oracle's prophecy, and Antony knew and told. But even though they all told him, he was tired of all of the politics and war. He wanted to die with dignity and valor, and not of disease like Alexander. He even provoked the senate many times, it was almost like a suicide.
They say that Caesar wants a failed state (a Pre-War ideology), but, if you, blind patriotic american, would see things better and open your mind, you would see that the ideology that the NCR haves, it's the same failed Pre-War state, the state we have now, which keeps people ignorant so they could see his government as the glorious ideology, and the other states as the worst enemy. The state that keeps people in constant consumism, ignorancy, corruption, the state that keeps people like robots, following instructions without questioning anything.
Funny enough, Caesar's description of Kimball is exactly what the real Caesar did. Instead of coddling/fighting nearby tribes till annexation point like early Rome/Tandi did, Kimball aggressively attacked any tribes that slighted the NCR and basically turned Mojave into his own Gaul, the fact that his response to hostile tribes is swift and draconian also helps. Hell, at this point, General Oliver is basically Kimball's Titus Labenius... except **far** less smart and relied more on brute force.
@@HaloFTW55 I would say caesar is more caesar than Kimball, the conquest of the 86 tribes mimic in a way the conquest of Gaul, caesar is from ncr(Rome) and he goes into a foreign nation(Gaul) and conquers all the tribes there (Gaul wars) he takes his army and goes against his home ncr to eliminate corruption(the senate) all he has to do is cross the Colorado (Rubicon)
Caesar's voice actor absolutely nails it when it comes to the scary but wise warlord leader, his dialogue is fantastic too, in fact it's so good that it actually makes you consider siding with a slaver nation that does horrible things, I miss this Fallout :(

But then you break FIVE quests: I Could Make You Care, Tend to Your Business, Still in the Dark, Eyesight to the Blind, and Pistol Packing.
nuke018 Actually, it is about both Veronica and the Brotherhood. After visiting three places in the Mojave Wasteland and getting some dialogue triggers with her, she then asks you to take her to Hidden Valley. You can't get in if you blew the bunker. And if you didn't, Veronica still has to speak to Elder McNamara to trigger another flag in I Could Make You Care. From there, you have to go to the shack near Gibson Scrapyard and HELIOS and download Elijah's notes. Veronica can't talk to the Elder if he's dead because she proposes looking for technology that might change his mind and you have to go to Vault 22, Vault 34, or HELIOS to get that tech. If the Elder's dead, it breaks all the quests.

Usually, I go to Vault 22 and get the farming technology. If I don't pursue that option, I go after the pulse gun in Vault 34; I have high Lockpick and Science skills by this point so I can forget about getting the key from Nellis. I only got Euclid's C-Finder ONCE just to see what it did, and it's not worth being able to use only once a day. After the Elder shoots Veronica down (he does it no matter how you complete this part), I then have her join the Followers of the Apocalypse. This is the ONE TIME I turn my weapons on anyone in Brotherhood armor. To be fair, they did kill the Followers and obstruct Veronica's chance to do some good in the world. The only time I killed the Brotherhood otherwise was during my first Mr. House playthrough and even then I did the exploit to keep her in my party.
Arcade doesn't realize that by letting Caesar die, we're doing even worse thing than by curing him. Ending slides for Legion with Lanius as leader are the worst thing that happened to Mojave.
Yeah, the legendary martial status of Lanius will do little good once the merchants start to disapear (we have one imediatelly deciding to get out once he thinks Lanius might take power) and he crosses the line between being feared and being hated - a HUGE no no acording to Machiavelli. Given his speech, he is all out about conquering outwards and as much as is said about NCR outreaching, the Legion is just about to do exactly the same.
Doing so under a leader with no people skills? Not a good idea.

Caesar puts it best when he describes the Brotherhood of Steel, they're hoarders. At least as far as the West Coast and East Coast Maxson chapters are concerned. Lyon's Brotherhood is the only one I truly respected.

Geez whiz, it's almost as if everyone in Fallout "hoards" resources. But not many go out of their way to risk their own lives for others they hardly know, like Brotherhood paladins do when they fight supermutants, ferals, raiders, mutated creatures and whatnot to keep the human population save.
Maxon's Chapter reverted back to the original tenets. But they aren't as isolated as their West Coast counterparts. If anything, that's the most powerful they've been since the early days.

B. The legion has cities that are said to be doing well. Do you think traders like the legion so much because it's an empty wasteland? No, they do because there's people to trade with.
They are the only option thst is thinking about the long term and has the ability to change who they are at a fundamental level. NCR is close to collapse. House only cares about the strip. Independant is anarchy. Legions ultimate goal is to absorb those they conquer, slowly absorbing their identity and discarding the negatives of both the legion and NCR. The legion is like it is now because they come from a tribal land, and that's how tribals work. Do you think they're going to stay tribals when they're absorbing actual civilizations?
The intro to this part of the series is awesome. Really gets me in the mindset necessary for a legion play through. I know you don't particularly enjoy being evil Ox but you're really doing a great job. Except tearing Sergeant Teddy in half! Too far Oxhorn Too far! You monster!!

The real Caesar suffered a ferocious head injury as a young man whilst fighting against pirates. For the rest of his life Caesar suffered from severe fits. Additionally, many cultures around the world admired Caesar so much that their leaders titles became some variant of the word, Tzar, Keiser, etc.
Never clicked on a video so fast lol. I am loving this ceasers legions play through. I've never played through this ending but I really want to, just to see the complexity obsidion put into this game.

Et Tumor, Brute has got to be one of the most clever jokes I've ever heard.
Also, I can't help but feel sad for Lucius if Caesar dies by the autopsy mode in the Auto-Doc. The way he said "I don't understand. The machine was supposed to cure Caesar...you. It is your fault." He sounds like a kid, whose dad just died. I know Caesar indoctrinated his followers into basically being his personal cult, turning them into cruel monsters capable of comitting atrocities 'because Caesar commands it' but I think that's exactly what makes them pitiable. Once Caesar dies, Lucius is like a sad puppy whose master died and now has to both live with his grief and deal with other troubles.

Cato was so in love with winning an argument, that he was willing to lose a war. I've never agreed with romanticizing him. Cicero was by far the better man, as for that matter was Pompey. I find Cato to be the least admirable of all Caesar's enemies.

Man, I love Arcade. This is almost heartbreaking to me. Times like this I'm glad it's only a game.
it's interesting how Caesar and Mr. House have opposite opinions on the NCR's reaction to Kimball's assassination. At first I took Mr. House's word that Kimball would become a martyr, but Caesar's rationalization is just as convincing.
Mr. House's concern if Kimball gets assasinated is the drop in revenue to New Vegas as he figures the Mohave in general would be blamed. After all, House is relying on the NCR to guard the dam and shield Vegas from the Legion until he can get his upgraded Securitrons on-line. After he does that, he intends to charge the NCR a pretty penny for the electricity and water they've come to rely on over the last few years while still taking visitors to the Strip from the NCR for even more money.
Ceasar, however, is as deluded in this as he is about so many things, it's entrely possible that killing Kimball could spark a great anger in the NCR rather than fear, leading to popular demand that those in charge hunt the Legion down like dogs for their terrorist acts. While the NCR senate may have been reluctant about adventurism in the Mohave, at this point they are comitted by what they gain from being there and their goal, to gain control of New Vegas, the water and electricity and taxes from the casinos would be hard to give up.

This is a little off topic but i recently got fallout shelter and there is a random quest where you have to answer 3-5 questions about fallout 3, 4 and NV and funny thing is i know most of these questions cus of your lore vids. I'm expecting there will be fireworks, some major characters, the NCR flag waving, and other things, though I'm not not sure about what Ox has planned. We'll just have to wait and see. After all, Oxhorn is nearly done with the Legion playthrough, all that's left is Hoover Dam.

2:15 Dont you need to disguise as that specific faction? You were disguised as an Ultra Lux employee, not an NCR. Perhaps thats why it didn't work, you had the wrong disguise on.

Hey Oxhorn, I don't know if you already know this or not. But the X-01 power armor IS in Fallout 76. I know because when pre-ordering the game I found out that with the tricentennial version you get a few mods for it and all the other power armors.

Just a small thing to add on the scene at the 188 trading post, you might have a mod or something Ox, but you have to be wearing faction armor connected to the faction your trying to hide from. Example, entering the fort as an enemy, Don legion clothes and vice versa for the ncr.
High ranking faction members still see through disguises. For example Dawes at the NCRCF can see through a Powder Ganger disguise, and NCR rangers at the dam can see through an NCR disguise. I think hit squads can also see through disguises but I'm not sure on that one.
I had to look it up because I was curious and you're right, to neutralize infamy you have to use same faction armor, and opposing faction armor only takes infamy (if there is any) into consideration.
Lance Uppercut Yeah, like if you walk into the Dam dressed as a centurion chances are the people are be a little on edge. I think most named faction members and high ranking characters (rangers) can see through you, barring possibly a low ranking named character.

Originally you could convince Caesar to ally with the Brotherhood of Steel, but it was cut from the game due to time. There is a mod on Nexus that restores the lost content, it uses all the lip movements and voice acting that was stored away in the game's files.

He doesn’t do it because he does not wish to appear to support the legion, in my opinion. To my knowledge it is only members or ex-members of the legion who pronounce Caesar’s name in the Latin way, so Arcade would not.
He chooses not to as a way of not respecting him as far as I know.
