Joker's aim remains same but Overlord changes (Fighting the Wreckers to Killing Megatron and the lost light ) . Joker is willing work with other villains but Overlord works alone or even if he teams up he is going to betray or turn their back on them later . Joker in his final moments will laugh till death while Overlord begs to be spared by Springer . Joker wants to sow chaos where killing people falls under it while Overlord wants to kill people while Sowing chaos is a part of it or consequences . Joker wants to die in a kind of way that affects or will affect batman . While Overlord doesn't wants to die but rather keep on living and killing people .

I kinda disagree; modern renditions of the character, i.e., IDW & the prime wars trilogy, Overlord’s main goal is to rematch Megatron, the only person to defeat him in battle on multiple occasions. Don’t get me wrong, Overlord is the deception you don’t want to see on the battlefield, but like Shockwave said to him in idw, Overlord only struck out to get Megatron’s attention, and he wouldn’t give it to him.
After seeing Overlord in the Idw comics I have become TERRIFIED of him. Everytime I see him enter, I knew, deep down inside, some bot is gonna die... Seriously, this Version is such a well made villain and I fricken love it!!😁😁😁
And to think he only got to where he was because the writer just happened to have his UK toy as a kid. A character brought to prominence because of childhood nostalgia. That’s something that I genuinely love about this franchise.
