I agree that Alexander isn't necessarily the most obvious choice for the role as Tarzan, but honestly, im glad that they took this chance. It adds a new element to the movie, and wanna see it even more, just because I want to see if Alexander is good in it. They could've went with Jason Mamoa, yes, but I think that would be too safe a play. I think there is more depth to the character when Alexander portrays him ;)

+Polskaboy33 nah dude, when you get lean you look muscular if you even have a decent size. You'll look literally twice as big. 9 months is enough to put on 18 pounds of muscle and lose fat. Specially if you're not into lifting and suddenly starts. I don't see the signs of steroids in his body
+Polskaboy33 haha dude I put on literally 2.5 pounds of lean muscle in per month for 6 months (.5 of fat per month too) with beginner gains and eating at a surplus (only had creatine and protein and a nice pre with beta alanine and caffeine) no roads, lots of compound movements and resting properly. It's not magic, like you said it's science. It's possible. Whether he did if that way or not idk... But it's definitely possible to put up to 3.5 pounds of muscles a month working out 6 days a week because I've done similar

He was on severe intermittent fasting schedule. I am on a similar diet. I can't eat bread cheese, or pasta accept half cup of rice before my work and only on my first meal. I can only drink red wine between two meals. I can only have pie as a desert once a week. I am eating only Asian type dishes and the food is about the same size he says his is I am almost not eating after 7 pm. I am dry fasting two days a week as well. I have already lost 70 lbs and just really trying to get slimmer in the waste. I am doing alot of floor workouts

Floki, pennywise, and Tarzan are one hell of a trio
They say he ate 7000 calories a day. I was glad to see this because I have a theory that nothing burns fat like putting on new muscle. The top 3 things for burning fat are 1) new muscle 2) diet 3) nothing. Maybe running.
Normal people who don't have all day to exercise are best getting in shape through diet with workouts, but the workouts aren't for burning fat, diet is. Workouts are just for keeping strong and high energy.
Anyway that's my ideas.
As someone who works in the fitness industry and been lifting religiously for 12 years. Not nearly as impressed as they made him out to look. I had a similar build at 18. He's not really carrying alot of muscle mass he just toned out more so.
(not shitting on Alexander, he's a fellow swede and hes a good actor but not nearly as big of a deal as they made it out to be)
I do find it an odd choice for tarzan, would expect someone tanner and more "badass" looking.

All the out of shape haters are whining about testosterone, HGH, and steroids when it's easily possible to achieve that physique with training and a proper diet. Besides, he was doing True Blood not long before filming this movie, and he was already in good shape.
In the first season of True Blood he was even MORE buff because he was just coming off of doing Generation Kill. His biceps were the size of his costars head. He kinda let himself go after that because he couldn't maintain it and I don't blame him.
theres a reason they didnt ask him about test... just like every other transformation movie role on these talk shows(i.e. the rock...)... you cant put on much lean mass in a short amount of time, reguardless of diet, unless you are on something
+b 9 months isn't a short amount of time. It's the same amount of time it takes to make an entire human baby.
***** How do you know he was doin roids? Just because he's 40 doesnt mean he was doin roids. Age only means that your testosterone is lower, doesnt mean you cant build solid muslce or a toned body. Body fat can be reduced with a diet which is what he was on. Besides most actors take supplements (not roids or TRT) that heighten their metabolism and burn fat.
To be honest you need to do what he did and take some stuff, geting in that shape isn't easy and maintaining is even harder I wonder what he did for that short scene

The sad thing about people who haven't trained before is that they assume anyone with a half decent, muscular physique is on "steroids". If you think this look isn't attainable without introducing extra hormones to your blood then you aren't training and/or eating properly. Jeez, he's not that big. Low body fat does wonders for giving the illusion of size.

Why is it so beyond the realms of possibility that he took steroids? Most actors do it. I'd do it too if I was them. If you have to get ripped and jacked up just to do a 45 day shoot for a movie why would you be clean? Just take the drugs and get way more results in a shorter and less exhaustive time frame. Some of these Marvel guys look like Greek gods. Why would they spend a year killing themselves in a gym for one role when they could take steroids and probably look better in a third of the time?
