Your fast becoming my go to reviewer. Like that you cover all the details in handling from the experience you have. Sharpening tips are really helpful. Great review!
Thank you Michael, i appreciate that and will help however i can i like to make videos that help and answer questions
Mine just arrived, for the price I’m amazed. Nothing to complain about at all, razor sharp out of the box. Feels great in my hand, nice feel all around in any grip, I can’t wait to see how it holds up through my jobs.
Just had one of these delivered….I think I have a new favorite !, the action and every other aspect of this one is awesome.
It's so good
Thanks for this review, Jerad. Just got my Actium and feel it’s a pretty solid sub $50 option. Super smooth, zero blade play, comfortable, tolerable weight, great carry clip positioning and when choked up on the finger choil in combination with the aggressive thumb ramp, it feels amazing. Thanks again! 👊
This has been one of if not the best budget sub 50$ knife of 2021
Paid $43 for mine in purple g10. I'm thoroughly impressed with it. Very similar to the civivi baklash.
Love the three opening methods, very thin hollow grind, ergos are great, I really don't feel the clip in any grip, the forward choil is nice and generous. The texture of the g10 isn't too rough or too smooth. Just might be my favorite sub $50 knife in my collection.
Agree
Out of the 3 you shown in the beginning (Sencut Sceptor, Sencut Actium, and the Civivi Badlands Vagabond), I think the Civivi Badlands Vagabond looks like it'd be the most comfortable in hand and like the look of it. All 3 are great knives. Great video once again Jerad! Have a great night/day
Yeah it seems that way and i thought that as well but imo for my hands the actium is the most comfortable, the badlands is comfortable but its slightly smaller
I laughed imagining someone not into knives coming through this video and hearing about how the knife's accoustic is great 😂
I know i think about how crazy i sound all the time 😆
I really like that knife more than I originally thought I would! Aesthetically, it’s not my favorite, but then again I used to think Spydercos were weird looking. The Actium’s blade is a hair longer, but the handle is is about the same as the Spyderco PM2 (I’ll let everyone else fight over who has better ergos). The Actium is great!
Love the actium
Just scored one of these bnib on Ebay for 28 bucks. Glad to finally have one in the collection
Sweeet
Wow, ebay i thought died and got resurrected by the scalpers. Nice to be proven wrong.
The Sencut Actium is my pick for best knife under $50. So much nicer than I was expecting.
Definitely
Really like the looks of this one. Reminds me alot of my backlash. Great review 👍
Its very similar
I got the purple. I love it! ✌️
Essentially a Baklash with a thumb stud. I went with the Actium, and got a Baklash for a friend.
Yeah it kind of is
I feel so informed after this 5* review
Took your advice and got the one with the wood handle, i can't believe how light and good this knife feels. I went to sharpen it last night and something is different about their d2, it felt amazing on the stone and the burr wasn't a B. To remove, super crisp edge. Is it just because they have better quality control and heat treat? I've owned lots of d2, kubey, ganzo, sitivien, and many others, but none was as easy to deburr as this
Hey Jared! It's better to have the screws flush than the clip. So it doesn't capture on Pants, in my opinion. The stoppin on Civivi knives are thin yes, but they work great. No blade play at all. But ok I just have one Praxis. Love my Lady Praxis! Greetings from Austria Bra!!! Thanks for the Videos you do.
Thanks Lion, yeah personally ive only had two that created rock, but i just like to see a solid pin, as i said i dont think its a problem, but definitely like flat screws, it does make a big difference, and with flat screws and recess clip it makes it so it doesnt need a huge amount of room under clip, so then its more comfortable in hand
Love CIvivi and now the Sencut has given us another level! Thanks for the review. Can't wait to see what else they have for us.
I agree
love the fact that at 30, 40 bucks gives you a sharp fine edge out of the box...I compare this to the Boker Strike series in the same price category with D2 steel...from what I read D2 tool steel is a great combination of edge retention and toughness I just don't like the rust result from the carbonation if not wiped down and taken care of...but yes a great affordable option...I would have taken this over the boker strike, an all around better option...great talk friend 👏 👌
The problem with d2 is that it was never supposed to be for production knives its heat treat process isnt good for large batches thats why most companies d2 doesnt perform at what d2 should, if you watch the cutting performance that it does its not even close to what a custom well heat treated d2 can perform at, so we are getting d2 but not at the level d2 should be, its the same with m390 thats why id rather see 14c28nsteel because its very easy to heat treat and was made for pocket knives, its hrc ratio does good at a wide range
@@NeevesKnives Thanks for taking the time with ur reply I got good info from it...cheers 🍻
I think I have to get over the price hike they did after 1st week. Reminded me of the Shaman and had me thinking they were going to start price jumping like Civivi did.
You don't usually go so positive on a 40 dollar knife. Think I will give it a chance.
Thanks for sharing the knife.
It's $45 rightnow. How much was it before?
HA! Yeah, I kind of feel sorry for all the beach bums and folks living around salt water, even though I love vacationing at the beach:) The knife market has been flooded for like 4 or 5 years now with D2:) LOL! I too really like 14C28N steel, and want to give the newer Magnacut a try at some point.
Thank you for this review I'm about to order this right now even though I've got two knives on the way already and just got two yesterday in the mail 😅
You sound like me 😆
I just ordered mine :) I had the cold steel recon 1 tanto, maybe I still do? I seem to have lost it.. I did want to get a decent edc knife for use rather than “this is expensive and I don’t want to use it” haha
I'll have to work on liking the black thumbstuds and pivot, but otherwise pretty impressed. Great review.👍
Great / Thorough review! I’m really torn on the idea of a budget brand of a budget brand. It looks so much like some of the Civivi branded models and is within a few dollars in price. Might as well pony up a few more dollars and get the zipper pouch that’s included with Civivi models.
Its a civivi, don't let the name fool you, you realize it as soon as you get it in hand
Ok, I caved under the barrage of praise you keep giving this thing. I got the purple/black version. You were right, remove the billboard on the blade and it’s a Civivi all day long. The placement of the thumb studs and flipper are perfect, too.
Are the brown wood scale interchangeable with black G10 actium???
Good review Jerad...it’s right in my budget house.
Cant go wrong with this one
Thank you Jerad
Great review. As nice as the Actium looks, I won't buy it because I prefer more cutting edge versus a finger choil. A small sharpening choil would be perfect.
Yeah some like choils some dont i like both but i definitely love a good sharpening choil, so im happy with it imo, but we and civivi make so many great models theres one for everyones taste
You are really selling me on this knife!!! May have to get this instead of the Praxis.
Its a great one for sure
@@NeevesKnives would you choose it over the Septre or Praxis??
@@mattharvey968 yes, the scepter is more of a lighter duty edc compared but yes all are great knives
@@mattharvey968 yes
Got several civivis a citius now got to have actium. Do you think it's better than the baklash?
If you like having more than one deployment yes,
Good size knife great review
Im trying to figure out if I want to get one of the scepters. How have you liked that one?
I have the scepter review coming very soon, if you want a smaller sized knide like the elementum then scepter if you want a full sized then this one
Whats better backlash or actium?
Both are awesome just depends on what your wanting I'd say you can't go wrong with either
What is the blade grind ?
Thanks I got it
where is sencut company stay
China, owned by we knives
Badlands aint a sencut branded knife my guy hahaha
Same company makes them
