    The "scratcher" will work a lot better if you use it the other way. Push it forward, like a fork, with the tines just under the wax cappings. You can separate cappings from the comb and lift them off quickly that way - especially if you glide the tool under the cappings rather than picking little bits at a time.
    I typed the above before I got to the point where you corrected/clarified the use.
    For uncapping, even when working with large Layens frames, I pretty much exclusively use a scratcher and a manual scraper (kind of like the last tool you showed, except not electric). I'm not a fan of tools that heat the honey - even just the surface - as I'm uncapping it.

      While a standard scratcher is essential for uncapping. I am not impressed with the bent scratcher because when used properly it is very slow. Of course it may be me the user. I don't worry about heating the honey if you are fast using the tool but I also understand not wanting the heat. Having the heated tool makes you work much faster. With cold tools you can work at your own pace.
