    Really stunning shadow layers which gives the door so my depth and elegance too. The hardware detail is so good to finish the door properly. Love the leaves in the top corners. Thank you Jakkie it was remarkable to watch 🙌

    Just found your channel! Gorgeous paintings. Wish i would do value / monochromatic studies more often. I am scared that i get bored with the reference picture and never paint the colored ones.

      Totally understand. I don’t do them for every painting. They’re worth it though to figure out a complex painting or a painting you really want to turn out well. I consider them practice before the real thing.
