This is the Church of God In Christ at its best. I miss the days of the Holy Convocation being like this. Carol Thomas wore this song out during this recording! the shouting at the end is how I remember back in the day. This shouting music they play in todays church, is waaaaaay toooooo fast and people don't even clap anymore. I love the the ole sound of the tambourines, hand clapping foot stopping shout services. Twinkie has the B3 Hammond rev'd up and those leslie's!!! t
Min. Alonzo Daye -Amen Min-I don't understand it- if the musicians see the audience can't keep up they really should slow down. Mama/Dr. Clark would not let us get carried away with the beat. She told us "In a large crowd like this don't take it that fast!" She said we had to include the old & young-make sure everybody can shout to it. What a jewel growing up under this anointed woman not to mention Twinkie! And when Evan. Carol Thomas & Linda Pawlovich (2 blind anointed sisters-one white one black) would sing in those midnight musicals-precious memories. Girl from Cleveland wrote Call on The one-can't remember her name.
@@MrKevykev22 The composer of this song is Beverly Cunningham Cofield from Cleveland, OH. She's an excellent organist and minister of music til this very day!
This was the first gospel album I brought when I first got saved. I ran out to buy this. A friend of mine introduced me to gospel music. This was so refreshing to me. I now have this on CD. Thanks bor sharing and blessing us with this song. Blessings
I remember singing this with Carol Thomas who, by the way, didn't have sight. When she started feeling the anointing, she would rock back and forth and shake her hand like it was dripping wet. She would then sing like a raving lunatic. I miss her so badly.
She is very much ALIVE. John P Kee has been working with her on several projects lately. You can hear her on his recent album called The Church Choir. She is featured on the track "Higher"
This brings back so many memories. This was the first Holy Convocation I attended. Also, sang in the choir for the recording. I will always treasure this moment.❤❤
i love this song so much....back in the day......no horns, no bass, no guitars, none of that stuff..just organ drums and tambourines and hand clappin...its great!!....
My cousin had this album when I was little, and we played it to death! I couldn't wait to get to the end so I could dance with the Saints! LOL I have this on cd now, and it is heavy rotation on my iPod!
My God! I remember those days as a youngster just getting saved. It was this type of anointing that drew me to God. Good ole foot stomping, hand clapping 👏 , loud rumble for Jesus. Sometimes Dr Mattie Clark would say “you don’t have to wait until you come to the alter later, you can get saved now. You can get filled with the Holy Ghost now while the spirit of God is moving!”
i love this song , im wondering if you could post "Solid Rock" ?? The Last song on this album,..where Twinkies classical talents infused with gospel really shine through....its almost like she's painting a pic on the organ...its a marvelous rendition of my hope is built...pleeze???
Is that Twinkie on the Organ, that is some organ player who ever it might be!!!! And Carol could sho nuff tear a song! lawd that bass line on the organ!
Man, where is my mom's old cassette tapes of their churches because some of those chords sound like what my mom played back in the day, and the drums sound just like my Uncle playing them.
This song brings me to tears it is so anointed and so powerful we need holy anointed powerful gospel songs again most of today's Gospel songs don't have any anointing not in The Melody of the song and not the words either
Play Dr. Twinkie Clark you better play that Organ Empress of the B3 let the most high God have his way in you show them how to play under the anointing of God
Johnzoe777, PTL Brother. Could you please post "All Is Well" from Bettye Ransom Nelson's Album-Victory In Jesus. That song truly ministers to me and I am hopeful you have it in your repetroire. Thanks very much.
Glory!! A song our teenaged choir sung back in them bad 70's! I can't finish my housework, singing, shouting and directing!!!
This is the kind of gospel music we need in church again today!! I miss and love this kind of gospel music!!
O yes!
I had to call on the Lord in prison and he answered my prayer in 2000!
stacy Williams Praise Him! Hallelujah!!
@ stacy Williams - Uuuuuurp! I had to do a praise break on that testimony Stacy! Thanks for sharing
Just know that He was waiting for your call.

People don’t clap anymore because they are spoiled and lazy. If the drummer doesn’t show up, they’re lost and confused.

If I'm not mistaken, she passed away some years ago. I know I haven't seen her at Convocation in several years.

She is very much ALIVE. John P Kee has been working with her on several projects lately. You can hear her on his recent album called The Church Choir. She is featured on the track "Higher"

I don't even call it gospel anymore. I call it junk
This is a nice arrangement of this song but I gotta say that the star of this song is Organist Twinkie Clark...wasnt she like 23 then?
All thing's work out for the good of those who love the Lord who's called according to his purpose!
