I used to belong to a church which used only the Psalms in God's praise and sung them a capella. The Psalms have several laments by God's captive people (Ps. 74, 79, 137, etc.) And God's judgment is called down on His enemies, a controversial point among Christians. We are forbidden personal vengeance, but wouldn't you like to see justice done more swiftly in the world, or for the Lord Jesus Christ to come again in glory to settle all controversies!
