I get my water from a seep here in Kentucky it’s only about 2 feet deep, it was 4 below last year and didn’t freeze I have a couple videos on TH-cam that you can watch
agreed! good call on the ac and heat. What stops it from freezing in the pipe? I am so baffled by how the water runs through the ground. I assume a true expert could dial in a location where water might be located....do you fill the old holes to avoid livestock injuries?
I’m hoping once I cover the new hole that it’ll keep from freezing. Below 6 feet is supposed to be a constant temperature of 52 degrees but nothing surprises me anymore. I’ll cover the old hole as it’s too close to the new one. I don’t want any contamination from animal waste entering it. It’s crazy how water flows underground, this location is right next to a cliff but it flows to the top and doesn’t just come out the cliff. That’s what makes me think it’s coming from a crack in solid rock somewhere, but the elevation change might make it impossible to find the source unless I moved tremendous amounts of ground, which I don’t want to do 😜
