Teacher I've been living in Bournemouth since 2013 so when I arrived here I didn't speak anything in English. I wasted much time avoind to learn the language,I know I am a stupid. I am not sure I started to understand and do the things myself around 3 years ago. I am studying a course in the college called ESOl it means English as second language and 1 week ago I figured your channel out I am simply eating it up every day. I would like to say that I am so grateful about your job made with much love to us students in special we immigrat who are living in England.

I was living in England for 6 months, where I learnt my English, and I use a lot the expression “I’m knackered”, and of course, British words and British pronunciation, and when I moved to Dubai they didn’t understand that expression 😅 or other words. And now after another 3 months between different accents, I get confused sometimes, mixing british, american, and another kind of english words in the same sentence 😅

As someone who has lived in the UK (England) and the USA, this is quite informative to those who may not be familiar with the vernacular of the country. Unlike other commenters, I agree that these are used quite often by both people with whom you are familiar and those that you aren't. For example, asking someone "you alright" is quite common. It's a way of saying "Hi, how are you." This is a brilliant channel for those who want to learn about common greetings and phrases in the UK. As for me, I'm quite knackered and am going to rest... ;)

That’s true. Bus passengers between 13 and 50 normally say ‘Cheers mate’ to the bus driver, but elderly say ‘Thank you driver’. I think that we have in UK literally thousands of typically British words that foreigners and Americans wouldn’t comprehend at all, especially some slang from up north and in Scotland. Would be fun to learn about differences between north-south and English-Scottish divisions in our British English vocabulary

I really loved your lessons, not just for the test, as you have a fresh way to teach idioms and phrasal verbs or any other piece of information that could be helpful for those who are learning.
I would suggest to included more about British culture as differences between English from UK and USA. Another topic could be to learn vocabulary and at the same time show how are the British supermarkets or maybe how are British houses (quite different from America as power outlet is different and vocabulary of the house as well) or a conversation in a pub.
Thanks for share all the piece of advices that you give on your channel. All the best , you have one more follower

Hey Elliot! Please Make some videos for day to day conversations with different situations and places in order to make us practicing with sentences and talks.
And if possible then create a platform where we can have a conversation with native speakers and have some real-time practice sessions.
This video is a good dose for our casual routine.
Thanks so much for this one!

I'm Canadian, Gen X, grew up in the 70's & 80's... I can't speak for everyone in my position, but I grew up using most of these regularly. I think the only ones I didn't know was, using Alright as a greeting and budge up. I've used gutted more as a reaction to hearing really devastatingly sad news that really upset me. (when I heard that my father passed, I was gutted).

Britishers are really polite persons. Their English parlance is more standard than any other English linguistic countries.
