    THANK YOU for presenting this footage without all of the "enhancements" that mar these films on other channels (obtrusive soundtrack music, narration--particularly AI narration--, subtitles, etc). I like seeing this original raw film in the correct aspect ratio without any additions or alterations. I very much appreciate it.

      Chemnitz was called "Kamenice" but it was in Germany, just slavishe title, after war it ended in East Germany and rename Karl Marx Stadt... Nowadays back in Chemnitz...the problem was mostly with Soviet red army because there were many nationalities inside also polish, Czechs, and many Jews in red army ...they very easy killed Germans cause hated them...also Mongolian red army was underneath Soviet red army and Mongolia wasn't in USSR but their army was from 1825-1992 part of red army ... in red army was later also Romanian in 1945 and others nationalities from Nazi satelite states ... not only Russians were in red army and killed or raped civilians, made robbery, vandalism etc.

Most of them died or were killed by theirs guards as they were unable to walk anymore. He was lucky enough to escape in April 1945 and was brought up to Anasberg hospital.

    • @tileux
      @tileux 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The JU87s were refitted with cannons (as in 37mm guns) and became vicious tank killers on the eastern front. The top anti-tank aces had many hundreds of soviet tank kills to their names. But that could only happen on the eastern front because the soviets didnt have the number or quality of fighters to stop them and only achieved air superiority in the dying weeks of the war. In the west the JU87 was obsolete from June 1940 when they proved to be easy pickings for british fighters. Id guess the anti-tank cannons have been removed from that one. The ju87Gs were a stopgap for the hs129, which was basically the first variant of the A10 warthog but the germans never got the design perfected.

    • @teller121
      @teller121 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      to me, calling the Stuka obsolete has always been a curious thing. Under that line of reasoning, it was obsolete from the day it left the assembly line. It was as vulnerable to fighters in 1937 as it was in 1942. It was never meant to offer a challenge to fighter planes, whether the fighters were Spitfires or I-16 Ratas. In other words, like the A-10, if the Stuka's pals had not achieved air supremacy, it was vulnerable to heavy losses...in 1940 or 1945.

    Stuka almost looks like it's mounting 20mm in each wing instead of original 7.92mm mg in one wing. I know they added "packets" of 20mm under the wing later (and 37mm) but wasn't aware they had altered in-the-wing armament.

Seventy five divisions, consisting of 24,000 officers and 2.7 million military personnel and the best tank force. You also exclude Japan and Italy. Two other highly militaristic powerhouses. Oregon is 98,000 sq. miles and Germany is 358,000 so how do you get off saying they are similar? Germany is almost 4 times the size! Get a grip!

      maybe you didn't know, home movies did not have sound at all until like the 80s. 8mm home video was only 5 minutes at a stretch with no sound in the 50's 60's and 70's.

      Was da unterging war ein Terrorregime mit Schwerverbrechern an der Spitze. Daran war gar nichts "heilig".
      Das sollte heutzutage jede*r wissen.

      Better translation here might be "Sacred Germany". Could be a reference to another book by the authors of "Holy Blood Holy Grail" and the Germany of the spirit espoused by von Stauffenberg, who tried to kill Hitler. Admittedly it does look strange to us.

      My father was a Marine, landed on Okinawa, went on to serve his country 35 more years. He would laugh in your face and say the lions came, better late than never, and crushed the sheep who followed the evil of fascism.

      Your ‘lions’ lost the war, fortunately. They surrendered because they knew they were defeated. So much for Hitler’s ‘master race’.

    You've had a taste of Russian occupation (in the view of many who lived in Poland, Latvia etc FAR WORSE than any NAZI occupation) DO YOU WANT SOME MORE?

      The Russians had advanced a long ways by that time. Fighting them back and defeating them, then occupying the whole of Russia would have been impossible.

      Sometimes there's only a wrong side and a wronger side. And the Nazis were far, far wronger. If the Nazis (and the Japanese too, remember) had won, the US would have been isolated, the UK would have become a client state, Europe would have been totalitarian from Gibraltar to the Urals, and there would have been endless deportations, concentration camps, enslavement, murder, exterminations. I'll take the Cold War: Eastern Europe was lost for half a century, it is true, but it was the USSR that was isolated.
