People complaining about the dead audience, and I'm just here glad to finally be able to enjoy a stage performance without the annoying crowd reactions ruining the flow.
It is a South African wedding song that was originally performed by: Miriam Makeba *live in1963. copy & paste to see video> th-cam.com/video/rjo8h5qLpU0/w-d-xo.html
Igqira lendlela nguqo ngqothwane The road’s witchdoctor is the knocking beetle Igqirha lendlela kuthwa nguqo ngqothwane The witchdoctor of the road is said to be the knocking beetle Seleqabele gqi thapha nguqo ngqothwane He has passed by up the steep hill, the knocking beetle Selequbule gqi thapha nguqo ngqothwane He did pass by up the steep hill, the knocking beetle
We people are used to cheering and clapping 😂😂😂😂. When these people respect her performance and want to hear every single word. The control on her voice is sooooo magical. Goosebumps all over.
She got a standing ovation in America so I'm guessing they feel she's being disrespected. I get it but silence isn't always meant as a negative gesture. Sometimes it is of the utmost respect. Like tasting something for the first time and savoring the EXPERIENCE. The end reaction was the honest one.
I just discovered Miriam Makeba and her click song that she sang back in the 60s learned about her activism in South Africa against apartheid and how they banned her from her country and she couldn't even go to her own Mother's funeral what a beautiful woman oh my goodness the things that she had to go through is just unbelievable. I wish they would teach these things in our kids school so that we could look up to these people as Heroes and find examples of ways that we should be in our own lives how we should respect others and stand up for what is right and that's what she did she was known way more than just for the click song she was a hero!!!
The soul cannot bask fully in the blessing being endowed if people are making noise. The audience is not dead, it is truly appreciative of a voice straight from heaven.
What a strange audience. I thought I was watching a sea of corpses. Mind you I did see one excited person clapping. Just to add she was magnificent.....loved her performance and I would deffo have been rocking it🥳.. UK.x
So grateful for the respectful audience - no clapping or cheering during Siki Jo-An's performance - respect other people's culture - not everyone needs to be noisily cheering to acknowledge a great performance. Love that song & so love Siki Jo-An
Miriam Makeba reached us on a little remote island called Molokai in Hawaii During the 60’s. I remember the clicking and thought this was a trip!! Awesome.
She is beyond amazing! Such as incredible energy and performance wasted on that souless audience. If I ever see Siki performing live. I will break my fingers applauding at the end of her show.
One thing I can say about the audience yeah they did look kind of mesmerized maybe people are looking at it the wrong way I know that if I paid the money to go there I'd want to hear every single sound she made and I would be upset if people were being loud and I couldn't hear her. Maybe that's what was going on because I know just watching it on screen I couldn't move she hypnotizes you it is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am very happy to see all South Africa, all race and colour, in Harmony , doing things together, God Almight keep you and your country together, for ever in peace.
As a kid I listened to the original by Ms Miram Makeba being regularly played by my mom. I eventually in my 30's saw Ms Miriam perform on stage in Trinidad and Tobago. Even as a much more mature and seasoned performer by that time, she did not disappoint. That Siki Jo-an has offered this moving rendition of the Click Song, has made a fan of me all over again. I get the goosebumps all over again. Thank you Siki.
Bloody hell, that audience what the actual hell. On another note! That was beautiful. I absolutely love her and this song. I never get enough of it. Always manages to give me goosebumps even though I don't understand it.
Right, just ridiculous, doesn't know true and beautiful music when its heard. I know if I was there I wouldn't be sitting in that old chair just looking, because I would be up dancing and looking in amazement. Her voice and the language is awesome. Love it.
Dios mío como batalle para poder volver escuchar a esta mujer con una majestuosa voz mi piel se pone chinita nada más escucharla que tal si entendiera el idioma una raza estupenda en todos los sentidos😍😍
Guys they just turn the audiences audio down so you can hear her singing because that was a big complaint with her first prefomance it was beautiful but you couldn't hear it well and her voice deserved to be heard
Absolutely speechless the song speaks volumes of history culture art and beauty and love and marriage! Also to the audience quite comments. In other countries I’m Europe,Africa, and South America it’s actually rude to cheer over the singer because they feel the art is supposed to be absorbed and then you can let out your feelings of admiration at the end! Sometime a cheer can last mins after a song has finished ! Anyway she is phenomenal and the Late Miss Makeba was a legend!
Of course the audience is in shock majority being White seeing an African Queen, confident, talented and powerful.... perform What is termed heavenly. You are a Goddess.. Gooo Queen, you make us all proud to be African. You make our ancestors proud. Love From Kenya
It's great not to have the audience screaming over a performer's voice for a change. It's brilliant to be able to enjoy a performance without it! Thank god they respect the amazing sounds enough to actually listen!
Unbelievable! Her voice and range are spectacular, but the true beauty is the energy she brings to belting out those words in her native tongue. It's artful! Makes me miss South Africa so deeply.
Siki Jo-An when a white girl become envious of a black woman, she looks like you and has your talent and radiance! You‘re BEAUTIFUL! 🥰 We want you to become a world wide star! A bit like Jerusalema.. Let the sunshine in! Bless you and thanks for your grace!
❤❤❤❤❤ im American i dont know what she is saying but i feel her spirit moving in me through this song cant stop listening to it just stumbled on this for the first time today shared alot of her videos on my stories.
Not only has she got stage presence and she can sing, she is a very attractive woman. I’m 75 years old and I’ve enjoyed this way of talking since I was about 4. I lived in a place called Swaziland surrounded by South Africa, I went to boarding school in South Africa, I lived in Africa for 18 years and I would sit and listen to these people speaking the clicking language, we called it Kwella, it was probably wrong, they used to talk it so fast making different clicks with their tongue, absolutely fascinating, being only a little kid, sometimes they would look at me and speak in whispers. I’m sure they used to think I understood the language, but I’m afraid I didn’t, I just enjoyed listening to it.
Adorable performance bravo bravo bravo big big like congrats fans, just like home in South Africa & surroundings, saving the Holy Creation in all African nations, united singing everything is possible, fans love youuuuu, now that you become multi national global most beloved celebrities, keep on spreading good vibes fans, you are doing a great job, l love youuuuu

Same, Jamaican here and I am loving her perfornance 👏🏾👏🏾🙌🏾✊🏽
I also don‘t unterstand but Miriam Makeba did say It’s a wedding song
Igqira lendlela nguqo ngqothwane
The road’s witchdoctor is the knocking beetle
Igqirha lendlela kuthwa nguqo ngqothwane
The witchdoctor of the road is said to be the knocking beetle

Black women, loud, proud and absolutely beautiful!!
Perioddd!!!
You just had to mention her skin color didn't you.
@@ioijiopjkiopjkp Yes! Because only Black women can sing in that language. And also only them have that sass.
@@alicegauteng2358 that's one of the most racist things I've heard. Congratulations on being a literal racist.
@@ioijiopjkiopjkp Why the Hell not...THAT IS WHAT SHE IS.. SEE IT, KNOW IT AND BOW DOWN TO THAT BEAUTY!!!

Xhosa is such a wonderful language. It was a pleasure to hear
The soul cannot bask fully in the blessing being endowed if people are making noise. The audience is not dead, it is truly appreciative of a voice straight from heaven.
I'm impacted when an Afrikaner speaking Xhosa... Beautiful 🇿🇦
Greetings from Latin America

She is amazingly bold and beautiful. Apart from Miriam Makeba I have never heard of anyone else brave enough to sing this difficult song!
It shoudn't be difficult to a xhosa.
It’s probably just difficult cause you don’t speak the language
Just search "click song" and you'll find plenty of people singing it. My favorite is a video from Beyond Zulu TV.
Miriam Makeba reached us on a little remote island called Molokai in Hawaii During the 60’s. I remember the clicking and thought this was a trip!! Awesome.

Then get a south african name then... Thomas is surel not a xhosa name or the like...
She makes me Proud to be a black South African woman. And I’m a white Scottish man
The kind song that speaks to your soul and you feel your ancestors. I understand why the audience is quiet ❤️
