Pyke’s market is super fun, the space needle is possibly the most unique feature of any American city. The mountains in the distance, foggy mornings, great food. It’s like the bastard child of New York and San Francisco, and I love it. 3. New Orleans-I love this city’s unique culture. It’s unlike anywhere else in America. It has a rich history. The American, French, Caribbean, Spanish influences all blend together to create the epitome of the American Melting-pot of cultures idea. A wonderful city in the winter, with amazing music and food. 2. New York-the big apple has to be here. It’s wonderful, it’s loud, it’s busy, it’s big, it’s not ashamed to be what it is. More than DC, I believe this is America’s cultural capital. The Met, Empire State, Broadway, Time Square, Rockefeller center, Central Park, and all the small art pieces around the city. A true New York experience. 1. Minneapolis/St Paul-this is home. I love my cities. No where else in the US do you have two cities so close to each other that are so different. As a guy that’s been living in Orlando for 15 years, can confirm we got literally nothing in way of culture and tourism beyond our ridiculous amounts of theme parks. Still a good place to go for fun
Huh. I had a friend who lived there once and liked the food options and the IT employment. But I didn’t think of living there - I was thinking of it purely from a tourist perspective. For living there, that could take some serious considerations. I see your point. It almost raises a different category ranking concept: 1) as a tourist, 2) to live, 3) to visit and live.
Also a Texan, I'm from New Braunfels. It's a beautiful and historic city, if you know what the hill country is then you'll know the landscape. It has such a great culture, with it being a German city, it has the oldest bakery in Texas (Naegelin's), it holds Wurstfest that happens every October, has a huge park that was built in 1898 (that unfortunately does have a dark history about slavery, but what US city doesn't), and the first ever Schlitterbahn was built there. The only terrible thing about the city is that it's a huge tourist destination and the traffic is a nightmare during the summer because of Schlitterbahn, and the heat also can literally kill you. If you're ever nearby, I guarantee that you won't be disappointed. I'm biased because I've been there all my life, but it's truly an amazing city and I hold it close to my heart.
Portland! My home! I had a feeling that Shane would have Portland on the list. Portland loves you, Shane! You're one of us. Zach and Ryan, get up here dudes! We've got beers for years!
I've been to New Orleans once and I thought it was really cool. We just went for the aquarium and I could still see and feel so much culture there. I would love to go explore more.
Their number ones were clearly just the places they consider home, which is very valid, although I only like *my* hometown for the people that live there and not for anything about the actual town lmaoo
I think they said they needed sponsors for that series. But it seems like a natural for tourism boards to spend a little after the pandemic is over. The big places obviously don't need to, but Watcher isn't doing it's job if they aren't hitting up every medium and small city.
Me watching the whole 24 minutes with the biggest smile on my face even though i know I’m from the uk, 16 years old, in lockdown and do not have the money to go to any of these places.
I cheered out loud when Philly was his number 3 LOL. I thought I was beyond pride... but I do love Philly. Was also SO HAPPY to see New Orleans, that's my favorite city to visit. I've been three times and I just. I just love it so much.
Hearing Ryan talk about New Orleans and hearing him say it might even be his favorite city in the world really just warmed my heart so much. I love my city 🥰
Who could visit your city and NOT love it? My goodness, what an amazing place New Orleans is. If it weren’t for the oppressive humidity, I’d move there in a second.
ok i know i'm like two years behind but- as a new orleans native (now displaced), hearing ryan talk about his experiences in nola, especially his own family's connections to jazz and visiting preservation hall.. it's just wonderful. please, keep visiting!
ive been to the US twice and NYC once and I immediately fell head over heels for this city. the way you sometimes step foot inside a place and instantly feel comfortable and know that you're always gonna love it
Loved the Shane's Chicago reference with the mug in the very first seconds!! I have one in my cabinet right this moment (it is from the Christkindlmarket!) Chicago is great (IMO) partly because, as Shane eludes to, their are sooo many amazing places to visit in the city and the suburbs surrounding the city. You could stay in the city and take the metra all over the suburbs and even take a train out to Indiana Dunes for the day! Morton Arboretum, Art Institute, theatre, music, food! Chicago has the best pizza be it thin crust or deep dish! 1. Chicago, 2. Madison, 3. Portland/Seattle, 4. D.C. (but stay in Alexandria as home base), 5. San Francisco
I love how Zach talks about the different kinds of foods in all the cities he's visited. I'd love to visit some of these places just to chow down, haha! 😋😋
Someone let Shane know that, as someone from NY state, I understand him putting it at 5. It’s not exactly an introvert city. However, also let Ryan know I, outloud, yelled “FUCK YOU” multiple times when he said Orlando.
It’s refreshing to see Philly on a list of places to travel. I’ve lived in the suburbs and the south Philly area my whole life. It has a lot to offer but I’ve always felt like it’s constantly overlooked. Zack is 100% correct about the Italian food, the only place I’ve had better is literally Florence Italy.
As someone who lives in Austin I was so excited to hear my hometown get thrown into the mix. I wish Shane and Ryan would come by on like ghost files or something It'd be so much fun
This Series is so underrated and this episode especially is too underrated. Zach is probably one of the best guest especially for his knowledge of cities in the US
Savannah Georgia is my favorite city to visit. Lot of the same positives as New Orleans but much more chill and relaxed. For smaller towns I love Franklin Tennessee and Woodstock Georgia
Central Floridian here. The greater Orlando area is so much more than Disney. We have some excellent pubs, cafes, and BBQ joints. We have a thriving art scene. My favorite place to bring visiting out-of-towners (pre-pandemic, of course) is Rock Springs Run for a day of tubing down the lazy river.
I'm from Portland, but I haven't lived there in 15 years. Shane talking about Portland brought me to tears. Also, it doesn't smell like mulch. It smells like loam.
Colorado has a special place in my heart. It always will. My first prairie dog I saw was in Colorado. My grandmother would take me to Buckley AFB. Now a Space Force Base. She'd go there for the VA and would take me with, I was maybe 5/6?. We'd eat at the food court. I remember how cool it was to go through the military checkpoint. Greatest place to grow up, the foothills. So many deep memories come from growing up there. I sometimes wish I could go back in time, or at least be a fly on the wall. Simple times.
As someone who lives in Orlando, I totally agree with Ryan. I love the theme parks which also brings some fantastic restaurants. The community here is great and very accepting in contrast to many other Floridian cities. There is also great science centers and museums here. Lake Eola Park is beautiful. So I respect it Ryan.

When you guys don’t use the “chef’s kiss” or “mute” options you should be able to save them for the next episode and double up on them
Portland! My home! I had a feeling that Shane would have Portland on the list. Portland loves you, Shane! You're one of us. Zach and Ryan, get up here dudes! We've got beers for years!
...but don't move here!
How are the crows there? Do they live up to Shane’s hype?
@@cuprogers OMG, so many crows. World-class crows!
At this point I would suggest to just leave Ryan in Florida instead
I feel like I kind of have to visit now! It sounds like a pleasant place, one I could definitely feel at ease in
I've been to New Orleans once and I thought it was really cool. We just went for the aquarium and I could still see and feel so much culture there. I would love to go explore more.
Their number ones were clearly just the places they consider home, which is very valid, although I only like *my* hometown for the people that live there and not for anything about the actual town lmaoo
Shout out to San Diego! We appreciate the love. America's Finest!
I felt proud when San Diego got listed, most people overlook it for LA
As soon as I looked at that guy, I knew that San Diego and Denver would be in his top 5. He has that energy
SD pride ! :D
Same!! They described it perfectly too lol
So much respect for Zach. The traveling foodie thing, he’s living the dream.
Cannot believe Seattle didn’t make anyone’s list.. this is a travesty
Agreed!
Or is it. A travelsty
whenever I think about Seattle I see that episode of Phineas and Ferb
as a portlander, seattle should have taken shanes 2nd i love that place way more than here 😭
I came to the comments to say the same thing!!
the entire video I was so nervous that no one would bring up Chicago and I'm so glad Shane came through
This rekindled my need for a new Tourist Trapped, please boys! (Obviously when the pandemic is over)
I think they said they needed sponsors for that series.
But it seems like a natural for tourism boards to spend a little after the pandemic is over. The big places obviously don't need to, but Watcher isn't doing it's job if they aren't hitting up every medium and small city.
i love how they all put "home" as their number 1, in a way
Me watching the whole 24 minutes with the biggest smile on my face even though i know I’m from the uk, 16 years old, in lockdown and do not have the money to go to any of these places.
Same except I'm 20.
As someone from Asia, New Orleans is genuinely the first city I'd want to explore in America!
"Do they play this kind of music in Austin?" *hums theme to Monk*
Thanks for including Chicago Shane. Greetings from Chicago, under the snow.🥶❄
ive been to the US twice and NYC once and I immediately fell head over heels for this city. the way you sometimes step foot inside a place and instantly feel comfortable and know that you're always gonna love it
we miss you too homie
Just wanted to say that Zach is absolutely goRGEOUS
Genuinely surprised that none of you mentioned seattle. Absolutely love that city
I was waiting for my city, New Orleans, to be listed because I knew Ryan would but Shane too?? *chefs kiss*
Wasn’t expecting a Portland call out, but I appreciate it.
As someone living in Europe i would have loved to hear more about Chicago.
Chicago is gonna be in the top 3-1 for Shane bet.
Edit: Called it
I'd love to see Ryan and Shane go to that beerfest thing in Denver. That'd make for a great video!
Someone let Shane know that, as someone from NY state, I understand him putting it at 5. It’s not exactly an introvert city. However, also let Ryan know I, outloud, yelled “FUCK YOU” multiple times when he said Orlando.
orlando isn’t even on any water. that’s just sad.
As a born and raised Chicagoan, I’m calling it going into this: This whole discussion is going to piss. me. off.
Yasss! San Diego getting the recognition it deserves!
Number 1 rule of top 5 beat down: Never be in sync when saying "Let's list" plus Ryan's "nailed it" afterwards 😂 just been a staple!
As someone who lives in Austin I was so excited to hear my hometown get thrown into the mix. I wish Shane and Ryan would come by on like ghost files or something It'd be so much fun
Are there a lot of interesting haunted places there?
Austin looks like an awesome place.
I've always wanted to visit.
I’m literally laying in bed rn, watching this from my home in Austin, and I felt SO validated🥹
Number TWO from the expert!!!
Born and raised in Austin, would never leave. Live music, food trucks and one of the best cities for night life. Hard to beat.
I live in Woodstock and love it.
top 5 beatdown could be a podcast i would listen to longer versions of these types of convos anytime. seriously. i want to. please.
im like, 30 seconds in but i already know shanes gonna be aggressively midwestern in this
Same here!
Surprisingly, he only had one midwestern city and it's the one I guessed was going to be his #1 before even watching
We need more Zach in the future because he fully embraced it all and was great
If they did worldwide cities, or maybe to make it less daunting, countries, it would be cool if he could come back.
as an LA native, it’s lovely to hear a refreshingly positive and heartwarming take on the city from ryan. transplants don’t seem to get it.
finally, the episode where I have no idea what they talking about
Wow as a San Diegan I really didn’t expect to be on the list!
Shane looks more and more like the elf who wanted to be a dentist on the island of misfit toys.
I'm from Portland, but I haven't lived there in 15 years. Shane talking about Portland brought me to tears. Also, it doesn't smell like mulch. It smells like loam.
I love that Portland made Shane's list!!! I totally agree with everything he said about it, and it is the best city I've ever lived in!
I love how random the top 5 topics are.
So good to hear about traveling. Can't wait till the pandemic calms down so we can safely travel again without anxiety!!!
As a native Floridian, I am puzzled by the fact they put clips of beaches for Orlando. WTF? Also, what a bad pick lmao.
