It was the oral language of people who where part of the ancient mesapotamian belt like Mitani who migrated and settles in the deltas of major rivers like in Indus valley civilization. Later the oral knowledge was written down in our Devanagari script. That's why eventhough we can read Sanskrit but difficult to understand it. However Russians can understand better than us, explore why...Similar is the case with Urdu, where the Arabic group of language people used Arabic script to write down our knowledge in Hindi. That's why Urdu sounds familiar but difficult to read. It's a silent evolution in languages along with cultural evolution.

The Bhagavad Gita is for absolutely everyone. The lessons that we gain from every religion in the world are extremely valuable and of the highest intent for society, as all religions teach the same basic morals and values. Jesus actually has a place in Hinduism and is found in some of our bhajans, because Hinduism is a non-exclusive religion which accepts all other faiths. Essentially, we pray to different manifestations of the same supreme God (look at 1 Corinthians 12:6). I think it's beautiful that you're open minded.

Thank you for this! I am Canadian and learning sanskrit and hinduism. Hindus are my absolute favourite part of Canada, they are always so kind. I love their culture and cuisine as well. Because of how many Indians there are here, their influence has become part of our culture. There are many indian stores, restaurants, and temples. You will regularily see hindus and sikhs helping the community, and my favourite part is that they don't try to force their religion on anyone. Its just sitting there like gold, waiting for you to find it. I have so much more to learn and explore. Blessings, Namaste.

I m glad that I took Sanskrit in 9th and 10th and got a 100/100 score in my board exams and now I can easily understand and communicate with basic Sanskrit. If you are eager to learn the gods' language, I can guide you. For your reference follow the points-
    1. There are a total of 10 tenses in Sanskrit! For day-to-day communication, you only require the first 5 tenses, and the tense is known as LAKAR (लकार).
    2. If you learn these 5 lakars among the 10, you will be able to easily communicate in Sanskrit- लङ्~(past) लट् (present) लृट् (future) लोट् (to give orders) विधिलिङ् (request). They are pronounced as laang (past) lat (present) leerit (future) loat (to give orders) vidhiling (request) .
    3. Rest 5 are meant for advanced grammar which is used particulary in vedas.
    4. There are 3 main components while writing or saying in sanskrit language in a sentence, just like english. Subject~Object~Verb. Each LAKAR has its own way of verb. You have to learn them.
    5. Sanskrit grammar is very deep and particular, it focuses at every point in the sentence. Also unlike english, which has only singular (1) or plural (more than 1) nouns, it has 3 of them. एकवचन(Singular) द्विवचन(Dual) बहुवचन(Plural).
    6. You have to learn differne ttypes of subjects, like in english we have I, me, you, we in sanskrit too we have them all, and for the verb, you have to learn different forms of a subject know as shabdroop (शब्द रूप). In that we have 7 types.
    7. For gender, we classify as Male, Female and neuter know as पुंलिंग, स्त्रीलिंग और नपुंसकलिंग
it took me 50 mins to write this comment, you have to do research for learning it or you can buy sannskrit courses, through my comment, learning sanskrit will be easy for you now, as i gave a very general overview.

Bhagavad Gita is highly symbolic and Metaphorical, its the story of life itself! The Battlefield of Kurukshetra isn't just a physical battlefield; it's the inner struggle of life. Symbolically, it represents the challenges, dilemmas, and moral choices we all face! The core philosophy of Bhagavad Gita is from Upanishads itself!

What I deeply like about your chanting of the Bhagavad Gita here is that it is not only beautiful but is done in a sobering way. It's not just pretty but sobering to the soul and mind of anyone listening, listening to the metaphysical friendship of Arjuna and Krishna, and their transcendental dialogue. It goes into the soul, and purifies the mind. Thank you _

I am amazed at how precisely correct your pronunciation is. I was born in India and immigrated to the US when I was a baby - my parents put me in "Indian Sunday school" to keep me connected to my roots, but very few of us were motivated enough to get to your level of chanting skill. Thank you so much for this marvelous display of respect toward other cultures.
