I sympathise mate. I lost an ex touring car YB cosworth to a dyno pull about 20 years ago. The block and head are still buried in my old yard with a crank shaft headstone.
@boosted2000 I'm sure you stopped playing before the worse part. No smoke or fluids made a break for it... usually a good sign. In my case the boost control suddenly decided we were good for about 6 bar and the internals disagreed.
As already commented by others its teething issues this is a big build, it's no ones fault , welcome 2 v world of cars and mechanics, it's a hard job things go wrong , but can always be put right , spot on v right thing u did turned it off and trailored home ,,, its jus a bump in v road and wen its ironed out she will b a beast , sounds savage , wait till shes on full boost , keep ur heads in positive thoughts and we're all here supporting u mate
Thanks buddy . Ye , park it mentally for a few days . Not as of the cars going anywhere lol Keep going over senarios , but that’s not helping . So its a case of accepting it is what it is and manifest positive mindset
@boosted2000 goin over things in your head will drive you bonkers and u will lose focus , mine is parked up has been for months, haven't given up on it ,, u jus need to think positive goin forward and find and fix the issue , like I said a lot of people supporting u mate , keep on with v amazing content and dont drive yourself crazy u will fix your pride and joy and she will b roaring through v streets soon enough
You need a set of steel rods you need to remove head put a bolt in oil feed to cylinder head drill a small hole and make your tappers solid with shims what happens is the oil builds up in the head and can’t run back to the sump quick enough this cures this fault also you need up cut the pan of the sump and weld on about inch and half so increasing the amount of oil we also converted the timing chain tension from hydraulic and made it soild that was set up on build We had problems when we raced one and it took a bit of time to work it out but after that the engine was bulletproof
I’m running full forged rods pistons . Lasa pistons and seinz rods . I’ve ran a turbo set up prior for 4 years with no issue at all . Also friends have in the set up and never experience the above of done ? I’ll look into it . Won’t know until we investigate
Could have been worse at least there are no windows in the block or broken con rods or pistons probably bearing or crank not to bad on such a big project and not to hard to put right
Persistence pays off mate 👍🏻
I hope buddy
