One of the points of this song I think, is that you do not need lyrics to make good music. MGMT was always about having their own distict sound and style. This song is one of those songs that proves it. They're never tried to be mainstream but they wanted to bring the style of music into the mainstream. Something that sounds weird but is so relatable just from the rhythm. That is what MGMT has always been about. They've said in interviews that sort of shit. It's this song that proves it. If anybody ever tells me you can't make a good electronic sounds and songs without lyrics, I point them to this one.
wow, i did not know much about MGMT's previous music before their hit single album with KIDS on it and I like it. they are to their own and experimental(the only way to diversity) thank you mark d!
@NSOMH duuuuuuuuuude if you listen to the handshake you'll for sure change your mind. besides a lot of their stuff is good you're just not listening to the right songs
Absolutely love how most of the comments under this gem are from 7-10 years ago (obviously). Makes me feel like I’m travelling through time.
Same, there’s a lot of charm to it, tho it makes me feel weirdly detached and temporaly confused
the future chimin in 3 years later hehe
This sounds like the most bad ass boss's level in a beautiful video game.
this song takes me on a journey through space and time
Hello, from 10 years in the future
The intro is like the predecessor of "A Good Sadness", on the self-titled album
the lyrics always make me cry, theyre so deep
It's like riding that neverending story dragon through a lego person's dance party, in space. I like it.
Love the little water droplet noise they put in there.
3:12 onwards blows this mind of mine
when I tell my friends to check this song out, they're always ask, "there's no lyrics?" as if every song need lyrics. I guess good music is relative
jacobogeorge16 your friends evidently do not understand true sound
