I’m glad this one isn’t forbidden to play on set lists haha
Stairway to heaven is the storbe of rock
Fire comment 🔥🔥
Joel Thomas Zimmerman will always be the best trance ever love you Joel
This is not trance. This is more like progressive house or electro house. Trance is at around 140 BPM, while this masterpiece is at 128 BPM, which means this is slower than trance. Also trance sounds a little different, well not a little, a lot! Listen to trance again and you'll hear the difference.
14 years later and this song still literally makes me close my eyes and enjoy every synth every bass every pluck every piano note . One of the most underrated yet so insanely genius tracks ever made
this man and this song honestly made my childhood
@@CasualAatroxEnjoyerThis was the first album ever purchased literally ever. My first CD and it was amazing!. All my friends and family loved coming into my car.
14 years ago??? 😮 I never even knew about this song until a couple of years ago 😅 wow I had no idea, there was a car I was driving around in that had twin 12 inch subs and a 1000 watt amp running them and this would be so awesome in that system.
This song introduced me to Joel and electronic music in general and looking back it's really the perfect track for it
Thank me later you can listen now again :)
it's a tradition to come back to this song every now and then.

This and Faxing Berlin.

For sure. You don't have to listen to it everyday but you'll come back to this song eventually
This is a song you stay in the car for even when you've pulled up at your house.
I am doing this right now!!
I remember I did this several times. Reached my house around midnight and stayed in the car for like 5 min since this song was playing. Just couldn't interrupt it for sleep.

Me right now 😂😂😂😂
Dudes.. this me right now...
This song hits different 14 years later. When life has punched you in the face more than once and, now, you understand that the little moments are the ones that really matter.
And the punches weren’t even shit. Glad you’re still in one piece
Bro this is so real. Life has beat the shit out of me and the memory of pure bliss when listening to tracks like this back when you were young and optimistic about everything hits different. There was a time when every week had these moments, and now all I can do is look back and try to recapture them.
The ups and downs of life. Man what a journey
yo you must be plugged in bro cuz your spittin out faxxxx
shit's hard but we're harder, keep fighting brother.
I woke up at 4:30am for work. I went on a walk before I left. The gloomy morning was calming. I looked up and watched the sun rise and the moon set. For some reason, as I gazed this song came into my head after 8 years of not listening to it. Truly a masterpiece, brough me back in time for a couple mins. It felt like October 2009 again.

Here for the same.
Bro thinks hes in a movie 💀
Aw. Happy for you. Yeah learned this song for the first time through a livestreamer's playlist. Really like it. Wait actually I heard it once two years ago but I didn't have Spotify and was too busy with the livestreamer driving away from a bank robbery for grand theft auto. But today yeah the song's really good and heard it the full way through.
I miss the 2000s so much. A lot of it really sucked, but I really miss those days.

Man its been yeeeaaars since i heard this. Brings me STRAIGHT back to my 20s. Cheap car wired with an amazing stereo with 13 speakers and double subs, after 16 to 20 hours shifts i didnt have parents or anything to go back home to I'd hit the road in the middle of the night like a zombie up to the hills and just have this playing in the pitch black of the night with blue neons in my car. The feeling was so ethereal. Words dont do justice to it. Man time flies.
sounds like a hell of a ride and experience brotha- nice
I showed my father this song before he passed away. He asked who it was but never remembered. When he was broken tattered and bruised and had but left his body and soul, I played it before he went into the OR, to grace his final dance of soul on this mortal plane. You were a great man Mark. An excellent husband. And an exceptional father. You were an angel sent here to rid those of their demons in this dark cold world. And your charity showed it. As the doctors and nurses on that floor lined up to see his final goodbye, I knew you were on to better things. You were an angel to my demon. And you deserved better than I or this world could ever give you, and I'll never forget the last time your eyes locked mine as you left the world. You fought to stay. And I'll fight anyone who says otherwise. Vaya con dios mi papi, mi amigo. My only true friend, till the end. See you at the crossroads. You will never be forgotten. And you will most certainly be missed every day we remain here.
Poignant points to (and of) life, apropos! 🤗
Amin bro!❤
So sorry for your loss.

how can this trigger so much emotion but not a single word was said.
Because music that resonates with the frequency that which your blood vibrates at, and music does not necessarily need words to do that.

This is likely the most timeless song ever, even for its age it still manages to sound fucking incredible and make a big impression now.
now i think this is weird, i literally just decided to listen to this song cause of that dimension touch and i see your comment right at the drop. and yes, this is is indeed a milestone song for electronic music across all sub genres, not just progressive music. like i mentioned things like this are spontaneously inspired and are not intentional. stay listening my friend
agreed
Indeed, it's a super inspiring and hopeful track. deadmau5 has these ways that, myself who is a music producer, can't really explain. He attracts a listener with just beautiful melodies, great sounding synthesizers because of the countless amounts of Moog synths and custom built rigs he has at his disposal, fantastic dynamics. It's just incredible the success he's attained.
with no surprise
Batman
Every mother***** must listen to this masterpiece twice a day
This is the first time in my life I listened to a Deadmau5 track because I considered myself too old without even knowing what he was about. But indeed. There's a lot to love here.
I’m 41, discovered him about 2 years ago and I’d heard of him but like you, I felt he wasn’t for me he was for the new generation, the guy builds masterpieces though..
Same here.
You are never too old to appreciate good melodies, no matter genre.
Never too old for music :)
The most exciting thing is that deadmau5 makes me feel nostalgic about something that didn't even happen.. Ican't explain it but maybe some of you feel the same while listening to songs like this one

I like how he instead of focusing on super complex melodies he focused on he kept it simple using later Melodie’s in earlier ones and too his time with transitions just adding to the previous parts slightly very simple yet complex beat
did everyone suddenly feel compelled to come back to this song after all these years? i'll take this as a sign
of course every 1 years or 2 years i come back
This is one of the many shards that would describe our past. Its important to pick them up, and place them as we go. Reminds us where we come from, and gives us hope on where to go.

Take me back in time. How many nights was this played at 5am while we were all strung tf out after a long night out... TAKE. ME. BACK.
First time I saw deadmau5's name: "What's a dead-MAW-five?!"
I have few friends ...
You're not the only one tho, same for me, back at 2009.
Same for me too... that was yesterday hahaha

This song carried me to my best friend, who was dying. I get the dreaded call that he may not see it through the night. Kiss my wife and kids and grab my car keys. I’m gone. This song on like 44 or 46( cuz nobody puts it on a odd number) it’s loud it rumbles and shakes the car, I’m doing maybe 100 on a 60, but the raw emotion of this song and the state that my mind is in just makes everything super adrenalised. I see my friend. He is literally knocking on deaths door. I hold his hand, tell him I love him and say “just give up”. He passed away about 10 minutes after I spoke to him. His parents and I spoke for about 2 hours just re-telling funny stories and cracking jokes at his expense. I leave and get back in my car, and it’s strobe again. Just that first maybe 2-3 minutes of nothing but pure chords, you can feel it. The song lives in you, with you for a few precious moments and then boom, the drop hits you and you’re high and remembering the good times. This song is timeless, and will always manages to give me the feels every time I hear it. Timeless classic.
sorry for your loss.

It's impossible to opine a more poignant description. It reminds me not of a scene, an artist or even a song ...

Some things have been, some things will be, and some things will last forever
You know, the first time I heard this song I was in early middle-school getting bullied by the people I thought were my friends. Then I remember distinctly listening to this while playing garry's mod a bit later in life, and then throughout high school as well. I listened to it every now and then during college and recently quite a bit, and here I am now listening to this song in Japan in an apartment I'm renting whilst doing study abroad. I keep coming back to this song. It makes me reflect on my life and how far I've come and how much I've accomplished, and it's both helped me through tough times as well as boosted my happiness during recent, better times. This song serves as like a way for me to check in on myself and reflect on the past, and I love that about this song. I may have grown up, but this song will always stay the same and always be an important part of me. Every time the *strobe* light flashes on, I'm a bit older, a bit wiser, and a bit more developed as a person. Thank you, Joel.

I love the slow transition from a moody symphonic introduction to the upbeat - and the the drop! - and the dance goes on. EDM at its best, Deadmau5 at his best.
This song is a tattoo on a point in your life that when you come back to it, all the memories from that time warp come rushing back pulling you with it. There are songs and then there are masterpieces frozen in time waiting for you to hit play.
“Strobe was actually produced in a whole bunch of different parts. The intro wasn’t originally called strobe, it was called ‘then we stood still’, and if you look it up on TH-cam you’ll find that. The second part of it was done months later in a hotel room in England where I thought I should expand on it. It was really done in a lot of segments, and I wasn’t thinking about anything in particular at any given time. People ask me that a lot, and I never really think about anything, I just kind of think about how things sound and if something’s working or not.” -Joel Zimmerman
+Steven Ray legend, goosebumbs man from that quote.
+crni195 After a quick google search his booking agent is named Joel Zimmerman, who also is the booking manager of Martin Garrix, Kaskade, Kygo, beardyman.... the odds of that are ridiculous but whatever
+TGS Death Joel Zimmerman IS Deadmau5!
+Steven Ray Ok, his manager has the same name as his, but if he is speaking about how he created the song, how can he be the manager speaking???

This is therapy. Nothing less. 15 minutes ago, I was sick, hurting, alone, inept and my house was a mess. Then, somehow, I was reminded of this song, so I had to run upstairs and dig up a pair of headphones from the moving boxes.
Now I forgot all of that, except how I'm recovering, smiling, free, unstoppable and ready to fix my house and live my epic life.
No more excuses, I'm doing this every day from now on.
You got this.
Hope you’re still doing good
@@SpheresVA Thanks stranger!
Day by day :)
@@TheXtrafresh of course! Good luck and godspeed
One of the absolute best pieces of music ever created.
I use to love deadmau5 in 5th grade, back when I didnt worry about anything, and my dad was still with us. Good memories
C.C Hobbies Sorry for your loss man, and yes this song does bring back lots of memories
Used too? I don’t listen to him anymore. I still love his music
@@GO-kg2dw I didnt mean it like that, but like I was really into him. Still listen to him a bit tho for nostalgia
Don't be sad
Even I don't have a dad
Man this song brings me back. I had just lost my Mother to an accidental overdose in 2011, I LITERALLY went into rehab all the way 2 states over in Utah for pills/heroin 2 weeks after her death. I can remember just being so numb and still in shock even weeks after her death. Listening to this with headphones at 12am in my bed at rehab......just thinking how the fuck my life turned out like this at only 22. I'm 31 now with a 5 year old and a GF, life isn't perfect but it is much better. Got off the heroin in 2015 finally.

My condolences about your Mom. A 5 year old now provides you with a larger more important reason to love! Keep your head up my brotha!
Late night driving back from Atlantic City to Wildwood, I sat in the rear gazing up out the window at the most amazing tapestry of stars I’d ever set eyes on. As this song played I told my buddy to pull over and turn the music up, and the lot of us hopped out and danced on the vacant highway with nothing but the starlight above and the music to guide us. Take me back ❤
God bless you, Deadmau5
One of the greatest soundscapes in human history. It doesn’t matter if you heard it for the first time today or when it came out decade+ ago. You’re here, you’re alive; bask in all of its glory. Friends, this is it. Cheers everyone. To life and music!
Peace 🕊️ brother

Thats a great attitude to have, healthy mindset. Its easy to sink low and drown yourself in depression. Life is a blessing

My mom sang this to me when I was little
Yeah, I could totally see a parent doing that. The lyrics are so majestic and soothing.
so your mother said nothing
your mom is a robot.
Sounds more like the same brand of keyboard Deadmau5 uses.
mine to ... i'm 28 now ... time flies i guess...
Боже, благослови Deadmau5'a.
First time listening to this. 🤯❤ Explosion of stars in the galaxy of my mind.
Wait until you discover more.of his stuff.. check out Polaris, hr cephei, 4ware, saved, closer, etc..
This song makes you feel every emotion possible without a single lyric.
You might need to get that checked out
Man for real
"i was born from the streets" so much deeper man it makes me shed a tear when i hear this lyric in a rap song 😔😔🤜
@@giggleshits2060 i don't know why, but this is the funniest thing i've ever heard🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is the kind of music that I love, it tells a story.
But to each person the story is different yet powerful in each.
yeah it does tell stories ..i feel like when i listen to this..i get a flash back of my life and able to see the future.
***** i dunno....for me its just like a slower better version of a skrillex music video......not the songs...just the videos.......
***** I understand. Its got a kinda surreal feel to it.
No matter what mood I'm in, no matter what feelings are messing with my head, this song always picks me up. No, that's not melancholic, that's the truth. Like a new start
Legendary masterpiece
