Absolutely. She was the only fine actress on that show. The others knew it they were mostly cast based on looks. The better ones (Jason, Jennie, Gabrielle, luke) were average at best. Brian and tori were hideous and I don’t think they ever worked on something substantial again. Shannen was a star and the star of the show - she had several successful series and movies under her belt. None of the others had that. You’re right this scene shows Shannen is an actual actor and the best of them all. Especially Jennie was endlessly jealous Shannen was the star of the show and weaponised tori against her to get her fired in the end. Jennie also instigated quite some bullying against Shannen for example when Shannen visited her dad in hospital a lot and made the mistake of not telling everyone that was a reason she was often late (probably because she was the black sheep and scapegoat already). Shannen wasn’t a saint, partying a lot, doing her part in catfighs, being late for non valid reasons. She was a late teen young adult with a lot of fame and insane paparazzi circus on her heels .. sensible Tv producers would have given them better guidance. But the studio probably loved the free pr - until they didn’t love it and cut Shannen. The show then was nothing but mediocrity.

I just saw this episode for the first time, and I think everyone involved nailed it. I was robbed at gunpoint, and the PTSD came a little at a time until it finally overwhelmed me. Shannen did a great job in this episode.

...y'know, it PAINS me that this dramatic scene rarely get any mention on any "90210" fan pages; It VERY ominously lit, well acted, and you FEEL Brenda's fear in getting k-lled....The Guy is playing it a bit 'hammy', but is effusing what he needs to do, to get SHANNEN to react appropriately (for acting purposes)....one of Shannen's BEST acting moments, that rarely gets mentioned....
They didn't explore this storyline enough and I know they caught the person in the end, but they brushed it off in the next episode like it never even happened. It was so one minute storyline, I wish they made this part of her and let it be part of her to show that she grew over time.

Kelly was assaulted n had all this Drama n they always gave Brenda dumbs y where here friend n family just got to say she was dramatic or just being Brenda .. But she was so capable of being challenged!! Brenda’s was n is the shit!!!
They gave her a lot of dramatic stories, pregnancy, breast cancer, she saved the girl from being raped, she slapped Andrea. I think they gave every character great real world shit, Brandon arrested for DUI, Steve getting into steroids, Dillon’s father getting blown up right in front of him. Great writers like Cobra Kai.

I was also very scared when I was robbed walking home from school with a 🔪 poking my ribs.I remember my life flashing before my eyes while they were taking all my jewelry was being taken off of me & all my money taken from my wallet. I was afraid to go back to school after that. I didn’t go to school for almost a week & had the worst ptsd with that face & knife stuck in my head! 😔

Later when she keeps thinking about it the " ur kinda cute part " keeps coming up bc I think brenda realizes he could have sexually assaulted her if brandon & Dylan werent out back. Also the memory gets worse with Dylan & brandon coming in & the guy blowing them away which def would have happened if they came in seconds earlier. The memories got more demented like Dylan instead of teasingly like he did say " don't run off with any handsome strangers " he says it in her dream with an attitude. Such a good episode & shannen deserved an emmy for this one but I'm guessing the Emmys didnt want to take a show about teens seriously. If this was today she would have been gotten a lot more credit w/ the social media platform.
To me, the guy playing the robber was very controlling and got off on inflicting pain on someone and fear into them. He did thought as a way to torment her. I believe that could happen that way. A sadistic person would do something like that.
