    So we ended up getting this tent because the six-person was just a little too cramped for comfort for five people plus our stuff. This tent is massive, and there was plenty of room for everyone, especially with the kids sleeping on XL disco bunk cots (our two youngest can fit on one cot, at least for now). We took it on a recent camping trip that featured a night with two rain storms that lasted about 2.5 hours total, one of them so intense the rain sounded like machine gun fire on the tent. We pre-treated the tent with silicone spray before the trip, and overall the tent made it through with flying colors. We did get a few water drops inside as a result of rain wicking through one of the window flap holders, and the seam in the center of the tent got pretty damp, but this can be easily prevented with seam sealer--which we admittedly should have applied also. I can also attest to the design effectiveness of the angled side vents during rain.
    Overall, I highly recommend this tent, and my experience matches the testing that you put it through.

    • @CampingGuidance
      @CampingGuidance  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Christopher! Thank you so much for your comment and for sharing about your experience! I'm really glad that the tent could keep you mostly dry throughout your 2 heavy rain storms! I'm really happy that you shared it with me, it was so fun to read about 😊😊 Ah yeah seam sealant is definitely a must for this tent (and most Coleman tents too), and I hope that you stay drier during the next rainstorm after applying it! 😊 And yeah I love how massive this tent is too! Glad that it fits everyone really comfortably and that the windows were effective too! Yay! 😊

      @@CampingGuidance We just got back from camping with the tent and I found I was better prepared from having watched your video. I will say that it took our group far longer to set it up but we don't camp or have as much experience as you do. We really had trouble putting up the poles. The tension on the tent was often very high and we couldn't get some of the poles properly vertical. It was really frustrating. Agreed that the tent was durable and well designed. Once set up we really enjoyed it and found it very roomy and ventilated at night. The partition was silly and we didn't bother with it. All in all a great tent and I'm glad we bought it. Thanks again for the video. I think it saved us a lot of trouble.

      @@CraigDR Hi Craig! Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me, and I'm glad that my video could be of some help to you 😊 I'm so sorry to hear that you had trouble putting up the poles, I guess cos my WeatherMaster has been broken in, so I didn't have the same trouble, and I didn't mention that. But after a few camping trips, your WeatherMaster should be more broken in, and I think that'll make the set up process much smoother! I find that my tents, after being used for a while, get much easier to put up. I'm glad you liked the tent once it got put up though! Really happy to hear that it was roomy and ventilated. 😊 And yeah the partition was a little silly hahaha. You're very welcome, and thank you for sharing! I really enjoyed hearing about your experience 😊

    Tried it today, unfortunately we had a thunderstorm warning here in Alberta and it was super windy. We had to move to a more close spot with lots of trees. Still pretty windy with lots of rain, we loved the tent, lots of space and easy set up. Only bad thing is that the wind would find its way in through the ceiling, it would curve and go up till it hit the inside. Is there a way to stop that?

    • @CampingGuidance
      @CampingGuidance  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Santiago! Thanks for letting me know! Oh man I didn’t get to test it in such strong winds so I had no idea 😓 hmm I guess cos the Rainfly is pretty short and the roof is made of lots of mesh so I guess I can see why that happens. Does the rain get into the tent as well? could you consider getting a big enough tarp to erect over the tent? It could help cut down on the rain and wind from the outside!

    • @Sanriago98
      @Sanriago98 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CampingGuidance not a lot of rain got through, just a couple of splashes here and there and lots of wind going upwards the edge of the tent from outside to inside. It was an unexpected thunderstorm but definitely held up pretty good, will be looking into the tarps to cover the top for sure

    • @CampingGuidance
      @CampingGuidance  ปีที่แล้ว

      Phew I’m really glad to hear that there wasn’t a lot of leakage! Thank you so much for the update, I really appreciate it 😊 you can look into erecting an A frame tarp over the tent. Are you planning on doing any hot tent reviews? Thank you for your sharing your videos.

    • @CampingGuidance
      @CampingGuidance  ปีที่แล้ว

      You're most welcome James! And thank you so much for your comment, I'm glad that you like the reviews 😊 Can I ask why you don't like the guide wires? You can actually always just remove them on your own. Most of them are tied to the tent only via a simple hitch, which is pretty easy to untangle and remove. You don't have to use them if you don't want to 😊 And unfortunately it's only summer where I am, so I sadly don't have any camping experience in the winter! I do want to eventually try it though, but I don't have any plans to make those reviews in the near future :(

      Thank you so much John, I'm glad you liked the review! And yep, it leaked. Sadly, Coleman does inverted seams instead of seam taping their seams, and that's usually my biggest problem in the rain. I think the WeatherMaster is still a great tent though!
