Zika Virus and Birth Defects

UC San Diego researchers are leading efforts to better understand the Zika virus, its mechanism of infection and causal link to birth defects. UC San Diego is also taking a lead role in a new global effort to identify and test potential drugs for treatment and a vaccine.
