A mix of design elements taken from GT by Citroen and Bugatti. I'd be very surprised if this car ever materializes as a moving prototype, let alone a production car. The drive train sounds just as unrealistic as the design.
This video pretty much sums up my entire thoughts on the car. I honestly hope this isn't going to be one of those could-have-beens. I really want to see at least a few of these on the road.
Interesting analysis. The Hyperion was created by aerospace engineers, so l will refrain from making any negative comments, because l am an aviation guy myself. However, l like it though.
The 2 small pipes at the car's nose mimics the 2 large pipes at the rear. I agree that the 2 pipes in the front and the vertical black bar should be deleted.
eh. current fuel cells require obscene amounts of platinum to function, which rules them out as a alternative for mass production vehicles, and the most promising fuel cell technology that would be viable requires pristine graphene to function. News Flash: pristine graphene is also the stuff that would boost battery technology to a point that EV´s would be superior to hydrogen. So there´s really no definitive answer to which technology will rule in the future yet.

For my final year project I designed a hydrogen poster car for infiniti. I've wanted to take another crack at it for a while now but work and life have stopped me so far. This car used a mix of fuel cells and HICE technology to power it. The car used a stretchable metal 'skin' to save on material as well as a flexible verticle spine for aero. It was a little mental 😂
Hyperion XP-1 has a unique looking design and it shows some interesting and almost new level design ideas and details that car manufacturers could bring those design features to their cars.
As a person who designs whole cars. I think the design is forward thinking. They designed a car without having the limitations of tradition. They broke free. Got their creativity and ambition and just said no limits and made the car. And I love that they were thinking way outside the box. I don’t see anything in the design that is unnecessary. But one may think so. I wish we would all think outside the box and design something as crazy as this. What’s wrong with innovation?

There are loads of safety methods to safely store hydrogen. Its the same with things like petrol or if we want to take it to that scale nuclear power. All flammable all have very good safety systems. Fuel cells are probably even safer than HICE systems

@@splay4770 so is hydrogen. Whatever electricity is used to power battery electric vehicles is also used to generate hydrogen. Then hydrogen vehicles also have batteries, just smaller. Over the course of a vehicle's life BEV is still better environmentally.
Also, cars are the least concern, build more up to date nuclear power plants and mix it up with renewable energy sources. The biggest ships should be powered by nuclear reactors because they pollute the environment more than all cars combined. Also Airplanes need a major overhaul in their fuel choice.

To be fair, there are a lot of dark areas for bugatti design, in particular, from the eb110, stretching onto the veyron, and all the concepts made inbetween. None of those were exactly beautiful, so to say it looks like a bugatti, while not entirely wrong, isn't a good thing lol.
I'm sorry but you completely left out all of the drawbacks of hydrogen. Saying it's supply is basically unlimited is inaccurate because almost all of it is locked into molecules like water or natural gas from which you have to extract it. To "charge" a car using hydrogen from water, you need to invest the energy to charge THREE electric cars. Besides that, fuel cells use tons of platinum and are still pretty huge.
You don't need lots of power to produce hydrogen. That is a propaganda that must have been started by the Oil companies in order to product their profits. Electrolysis unlocks Hydrogen from water molecules. But you will be venturing into suppressed technology territory, and would attract sinister government forces to yourself. I know this because l have already built a Hydro-combustion device before, and knew of others who have too.

This is because for any new industry to thrive, it has to either create its own territory (summoning competition by that process), or unseat the reigning industries that were already on the throne.
I think Gordon Murray would lose his mind seeing this. For me, there is simply way too much going on, too may shapes, indents and symbology that interfere with the overall design. Where the hell do I look first? I really like the idea of a side blade, but looks messy in it's execution, like a conducting strip needing to be plugged somewhere (or this th-cam.com/video/GJu8RreAGnM/w-d-xo.html). I only area I really like is the glass canopy, looks so cool, similar to the Aston Martin Valhalla!

One of the car manufacturers that never build it? I hope so in this case! Look at it! What is this! My good this thing is absolutely hideous. Even the first gen Veyron or the Hunaudieres are appealing with their thickness but this thing: my goodness no. Honestly I thought we are in a time were harmony and simplicity rule the design industry with a few exceptions like Hyundai and Lamborghini but this thing really is a whole new level of curves and pieces that don't fit together at all like look at it
To be fair, most upcoming evs are citing charging times in the 20-30 minute mark. That time will only decrease. Hydrogen isn't bad however, there's just no infrastructure around it currently relative to ev and gas powered vehicles, and consumer knowledge of it is very low.
I think in the future, it will be a mix of all 3 types of propulsion. Some will stick with typical ICE, others evs, and some will pick hydrogen powered vehicles.
How to be a standard car-manufacturer:
Step 1: Draw exciting concept
Step 2: Never build it
Step 3: Build something boring/dont build it at all
....the company showcased here doesn't seem a standard family car maker intention though. Just hope it doesn't vaporise into fakeness like Devel 16!
