Really think this is an instant classic imo. So many flows, bars, and the autobiographical storytelling in full depth compared to his last 2 solo projects.
Thanks for checking it out! For me, this album being a 9+ is just a no brainer. Its musically one of the best albums we have seen in so long. Its versatile and creative and JID masters his MC skills on this record. On top of that, the themes on this album cover so much ground and to it all in a coherent manner. He talks about so many important topics and to cover such a wide range in one album just blew my mind. This album is truly something special and one of a kind.
@@fantastichiphop Interesting insight, I do agree in some ways, like JID lyrically is in great form and the feature choices were fantastic as well. Musically the album does lose me at some points (i.e. certain beat switches feel like JID is operating off too much of a gimmick considering the amount of times it's done in the album), however it is still musically quite robust. The main issue to me is the songwriting; I feel like certain themes haven't been presented as coherently as they could have been and I feel that JID lacks the edge to his songwriting style that could place him amongst some of the best albums of this year. I do appreciate the insight, it isn't in my top 5 for the year (still top 10 though lmao) but I can understand your point of view, thanks for being respectful

Such a cohesive album. The more I listen the more I appreciate how the album is displayed
I totally agree. Everything is refined to perfection its really amazing. The near four year wait was truly worth it
Before I saw this video I was literally thinking “wow, this JID album is a modern classic. I wonder when someone’s gonna make a video essay about it”
Hahaha here ya go! Hope you enjoyed

Looking at the bottom ones looks bad but they are all amazing. Album has no skips
What do you think about Fanteno saying J.I.D stands for Jackson in disguise
Lmaoo I had no idea he said that. I doubt it Im pretty sure his name is derived from the nickname jittery which is what his grandma used to call him
This video is amazing and i love your takes but please fix that track ranking bro 😂

While I do think it's a pretty good album, I can't see it being a 9.3 or an AOTY contender, great review nonetheless

Without the Heart Part 5, yes. But the heart part 5 being added to Mr. Morale bumped it up for me
