I fw JID, listen on the regular. He’s a great lyricist. Listening to his perspective hurts a little bc if there wasn’t a culture in this society around people hussling, grinding and only focusing on one part of the human experience this would be a totally different conversation, that he would probably be having on the main show. Idk, it’s layers to it but I don’t like the way this hit the ear. After listening to the album once I have to say I wanted more of that jiddery JID. Half the album has a more soulful sound which I appreciate but I wanted more of that jiddery JID. Something more hard hitting or strange/artistic like that freestyle. What you ya think?
He gave us dicaprio 2 which is like 90% of that. This time around this was needed to tell his story.
