I love the head, because it is resilient. But a good scraper with equal hand-speed can cause you a lot of problems while you are running it. My son is at a D1 school and he goes back and forth between this head, but his favorite is still the 2F. I prefer to use the Burn Recovery against him, because if I keep my hand action to a minimum and just shoot down the line I feel like it gives me an advantage to get under his sidewall. But if we tie up 50/50 and he gets a quick second angle, he just peels it right off the ball. Likewise, if he goes for a strong scrape and gets his sidewall under it and lifts, its pretty floppy. You got to go way down the line with the scrape or get a ridiculous angle to prevent the ball from popping out.
@@panthersblow Couldn’t agree with you more. This is exactly how we feel about the Burn Recovery, almost like it’s a clamp-specific head. Feels really good if you can get them on the whistle and does well at slipping under plastic in some situations, but just like you said the 2F will really expose its weaknesses. The 2F is just so dang good in all aspects of the faceoff, it’s really hard to NOT use it!
Although it pains me to say it, I do have to give the Burn FO Recovery a slight edge over the OG CEO. Now, if the OG CEO was still being produced and easily available for purchase, then I think the OG would be ever so slightly above the Recovery. But the fact that the Recovery holds its shape tremendously well, has a very smooth-feeling plastic, is easily available, and is a good substitute for the OG CEO, I am using it over OG CEO. It’s almost fair to say that Nike should’ve kept the OG CEO as it was and maybe it would’ve been a popular head being used today.
From the film it looks like it’s really good for guys that like to throw there left hand off contact and if you get ahead in a rotation it just looks like it swallows the ball
Great question. I personally believe that whatever head you used the longest and most comfortable with is always going to be a “good option”. Watching Siss over the years, he started with the duel, played around with the Burn Fo and Mark 2F, and then went back to the duel. I don’t want to speak for him, but I would assume that with the amount of time he spent training with the og duel, especially at a younger age while he was developing his personal style and techniques, it was hard for him to feel that level of comfort that he feels with the og duel with the other heads on the market. I would love to make a video covering this topic because it’s very interesting in today’s world of faceoffs
@@Jelqmaxxer678 with the new sng rules we really don’t string our heads to the outside anymore. Might need to update our stringing tutorial videos too!

The red and green combo is gross to some and others seem to really like it haha. The shaft we used is the Savage X Titanium 7 attack/midfield lacrosse shaft. We bought it because they’re only $25 and so far we’ve been super impressed with it. Definitely isn’t fancy with cool designs, but we prefer blank shafts anyway. A little on the heavy side but not enough to have a noticeable impact on your performance. Highly recommend it, for $25 it’s definitely worth a shot!
I have a huge question and I want to know the opinion of only the best. Does the shaft matter for a faceoff stick and if so, which 5 shafts do you recommend for a faceoff stick
Hey! Shafts for faceoffs don't really have a huge impact on our performance. Personally, I like to use the lightest and cheapest shafts possible. In theory, lighter shafts will make you faster. Also, I wouldn't spend money on the most expensive shafts out there, we tend to break shafts pretty often as faceoff guys. The most "expensive" shaft that I've used is the Stringking Metal Pro. Easily my favorite if I'm willing to spend the money on it. Whenever I want to "buy in bulk" and purchase multiple shafts, I will buy Savage X Titanium 7 shafts. They're only $25 a pop and only 163 grams, easily the best shaft I've used for the price. Hope this helps!
Hey gkl I’ve been useing burn xpo 1 over my 2f, it returns to shape somewhat well and can face flex and crush amazingly. If you would be interested in trying it the are pretty cheap on sideline swap as it’s a older model now

Says something about the head when Baptiste used the exact same head for a PLL and NLL season. I have never heard of a FO head lasting that long.
