Sears SS16 Suburban Tractor Johnny Bucket Installation

- We install a Johnny Bucket on our trusty old Sears SS16 Suburban garden tractor. There are still a few tweaks we want to do at the conclusion of the initial installation but we were able to bolt it together and see it operate. We are looking forward to sharing some videos of some projects we have planned around the house in the future.

Mine is 27 y.o. now. Involved him in almost every project I've ever done starting at age 3. He now knows how to do extensive automobile repairs / diagnostics, three different welding processes, Electronic repairs, stock analyses and portfolio management, etc.
I remember him sitting on my lap when he was 4, while I was on the computer, working on an Excel spreadsheet. He was in wonder of all the things computers could do, even at that early age. It must have had an impact on him as he now has completed his masters degree in computer sciences with a specialty in cybersecurity. He hasn't done too bad for a kid with autism. Patience, love, rules, chores and understanding are the keys to successful parenting and raising great kids. A little luck doesn't hurt either !

i have 4 Sears/Roper built Garden Tractors from the 70's... way cheaper to own and maintain than a cheap built new model will be... i love these models...and might add more or get a different brand if in my price range...

Im a new collector of the suburban and this mod is extremely cool imo. You have a very clean tractor. I just aquired an SS 16 Onan model and it will need some work but its the big boy for sure.

I been fixing and building stuff for over 50 years...plus fabricating commercial signs for over 30 years...and installing them that long....you find that people who build only don't understand tolerances...you always need some gap between parts...tight works but isn't the best plan in most cases...i fit and test as i build and know to add gaps to mating parts...as i build i put in shims or slightly oversize holes to give that gap..yes paint/any finish coat adds issues if not planned for in construction... this is a common mistake that is simple to fix in most cases.... or frustrating when dealing with on assembly...
